Andres and his mother Mayela are amazing hosts! Andres replied quickly and very friendly to messages via Airbnb. He also explained how to get to Tortuguero and made sure there was a captain waiting for us at Pavona. Mayela picked us up from the main dock at Tortuguero and shared some of the local foods with us. The location of the house is perfect! Very close to the national park, the beach, a little shop and restaurants. Also, we booked a boat tour with the silent electric motor via Andres and it was really nice! The house itself is simple (as advertised), but has everything you need! We did see some cockroaches walking around in the house, but I don't think there is anything you can do about that. It's the climate on the island. The house is really clean!

A house in the middle of a beautiful plot of land, with many trees, a river that passes nearby and animals such as ducks, chickens and roosters... The kitchen is fully equipped and being outdoors has its charm, since you eat outside under a large, very nice porch. Comfortable beds and large bathroom. Everything with pleasure.

Allan's home was a perfect place for us to stay while in Tortuguero. He was a very responsive host and the location was great. Nothing is far in Tortuguero. Clean and comfortable with a fully shaded patio which was SO welcomed during the heat of the day. Would book again for any future trip.

Simply wonderful. The house of Nazareth is a true haven of peace and beauty. Everything is impeccably cared for, with beautiful decoration and details that make you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. It is a quiet space, surrounded by nature, ideal for resting, relaxing and disconnecting from the daily grind. Nazareth was a great host, always helpful and kind. You can tell how much love he puts into taking care of this place. Definitely one of the best experiences I've had on Airbnb. I'd come back a thousand times!

Heidy's place is a perfectly located, cosy spot from which to explore Tortuguero, relax and go to the beach. Less than five minutes walk to centre of town and boat drop off and pick up place, at one end of the street and beach at the other. It is also very quiet and private, we enjoyed using the patio for quiet meals or drinks. The beach is beautiful and their was a sloth one night in a coconut tree on the beach. Heidy had arranged for us to be met when we stepped off the boat and a local guide showed us to the flat. Heidy was always super responsive and helpful whenever we had a question. Please note there is no air-conditioning or hot water in the shower, but that didn't bother us, the fan kept us cool at night. I would love to come back to Tortuguero and hope to stay at Heidy's again.

We received a warm welcome from Carlos, he offered us delicious empanadas cooked by him. He gave us all the information we needed to book the excursions and we even had a private tour in search of the strawberry red frog. The accommodation is clean, the bedding is good and the air conditioning works well and is quiet. Carlos is an exceptional host, I would highly recommend it.

The house is located in a very quiet and safe place, where many wild birds can be observed. We were greeted with the well-equipped house, everything you need for cooking, even enough firewood to use the grill as well as to make a fire pit. The bedroom is cozy and we have enough blankets available. The balcony is spacious and makes you want to stay there for hours to rest. The property has an extensive green area which gives you privacy. It is a great place to enjoy a very quiet and safe place.

I enjoyed my 3-night stay in Tortuguero. The accommodation is even better than in the photos: very spacious and perfectly clean. Everything you need is there to ensure a comfortable stay. The location is excellent in my opinion because you are close to a secondary pier and about ten minutes from the first restaurants so, quiet. The wifi works great and the bed is comfortable. However, I found the shower water particularly cold. Air conditioning is a plus. Kiroysha helped me a lot before I arrived and took care of booking the boat from Moin for me. Fortunately, she gave me all this information because transportation is really complicated in Costa Rica. On site, I was helped by Gerson, Jessenia's brother, because they were absent. After a little confusion, everyone was present both in real life and virtually. The canoe trip with Luis Manuel was excellent.

José is a very warm and open person! Private bathroom, Netflix and very clean kitchen! I definitely recommend the place!

I was stolen from my backpack in the bus on the way from San José. Janette helped me a lot to find my way around and had a lot of understanding because I had to leave the next day right away because of it. I even got my money back and only paid for the one night. In the evening when I arrived, Janette and her family even cooked me dinner. The next time I go to Tortuguero, I'd be happy to stay with Janette again. But this time I better take care of my backpack:)

Was great. My second time staying with Henry as a host. Last time was the larger house. This time since only two of us I chose this riverfront place. Room was great. Hot water. Great AC. Big tv. Riverfront patio to watch the boats. Beach just a few steps away. Breakfast was huge and very very good beachfront. It’s a short walk from town and the boats pick you up and drop you directly at the house. Can be a bit of noise with the boats on the river. A lot of barking dogs etc. but I slept fine. The town is tiny so no matter where you stay you will hear these things.
