Unfortunately, my own stay was only of a very short duration, because I became increasingly sick during the first evening. Karin helped us (I stayed here for a weekend with my best friend) with the contact details of the doctor's guard and there, in addition to antibiotics, I got the advice to go out at home sick... So whether my husband still pick me up around midnight. Extremely unfortunate because the cottage had/has everything we had been looking forward to. From a nice dining table to chat at, playing games, being creative, to a really beautifully finished bathroom, well-equipped kitchen and a lovely bed (I spent a few hours sick there that afternoon so I'll take that experience as a "bonus". My girlfriend was able to explore the beautiful surroundings further after my departure, she stayed there to enjoy the tranquility and did this to the fullest! In the future, we hope for a resit because this location is definitely worth it!

Gorgeous house with a beautiful view of canals and the countryside. The hot tub was perfect after a full day of walking. Daan was a very responsive host and helped us get an earlier check in. Thank you for everything!

I really enjoyed 3 days in Balk with the very friendly Judith and Jeroen. Beautiful homestay, super clean and tidy. Beautiful area within walking distance of Slotermeer. Beautiful garden with various seating areas where you can relax and read breakfast. The surroundings are also beautiful, in my opinion the most beautiful part of Friesland. I would 100% recommend this homestay and I will definitely return here. Thank you very much for everything!

Relaxing days in a quiet environment. Tulip fields can be reached in 40 minutes by car, and the coast in 30 minutes. Borrowed bikes to explore the nearby nature reserve, which was very nice.

The stay is worth the price. However, it is worth having your own basic equipment of kitchen ingredients with you, if you want to cook as wonderfully with the wonderful view from the kitchen to the sea;-). (You will have to buy everything - salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, spices, etc.) But the jumbo in the village is a great shop (7 min. in the car) and the essentials would also be available in the campsite shop. 4 minutes by car/10-15 min. by foot) However, the towels for the bathroom are offered and included. You don't need to bring anything. Look forward to unforgettable days at sea!

Amazing place, very peaceful. The hosts are incredibly nice and very helpful. We took the recommended wooden boat for a tour around the town and it was magical.

We enjoyed very much. It's a beautiful, decent mobile home. Nice with the air conditioning. Plenty of space all around in the garden and the shed. Friendly neighbors, child-friendly campsite with playground and swimming pool.

We stayed here for 5 nights. The apartment is very nice and cozy. you open the front door in a small hallway, from which the quite steep stairs lead straight to the second floor. On the top left (with the canal view) there is 1 single bed. On the top right is the second bedroom with a 1.40 m bed and a built-in closet. Between the two bedrooms is the bathroom with the shower and a toilet. From the hallway just to the right, the door leads into the open living dining area (sofa, table, 4 chairs , 1 stool) with open kitchen. From the kitchen you can access the guest toilet and the outdoor area : terrace and a small staircase to the left of the shed (washing machine and storage area ) overlooking the canal. Seating is available. Need to Know: - Back door is opened by pushing the latch up when turning the key. -Bed is rather soft and a little saggy Place is highly recommended.

Very nice stay in good weather. The pellet stove was a lifesaver for cool nights. The wind woke us up a little because we're not used to camping. Peter is a warm host who takes the time to meet each of his guests and even makes the effort to speak French. They don't hesitate to help when needed. The estate is friendly and well equipped for all kinds of leisure activities, especially for children. I really enjoyed staying in this accommodation in contact with nature and discovering the beautiful surrounding landscapes.
