Practically right outside the front door is the Schwerter Wald and very close to the popular Phönixsee. In the "village center," which you can reach in a few minutes' walk, you will find a supermarket, bakery, snack bar and restaurants. Good connection by public transport to Dortmund city, the BVB stadium and the Westfalenhalle.
