Apartment vacation rentals in Outer Banks

This might be one of the best Airbnb experiences I’ve had. Every single thing they offered in the description was delivered. Extremely clean and updated. All the beach gear and towels you need. Friendly. Checked on me throughout my stay. Very accommodating and helpful. Quick to respond to msg’s sent during my stay. Very close to the beach. Hope to stay again soon.

Friendly and super communicative host, very pretty place in a very nice area, super clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again but note to parents of toddlers, it isn’t super child friendly. There are lots of steps and lots of sharp corners. Wonderful place for a couple looking to get away for a few nights!

We enjoyed our stay at Nikki’s apartment very much. The space is very clean, inviting and had all the amenities listed on the description. The photos are accurate and reflect the second floor apartment well. We like to cook a few meals while traveling and found all the pots, pans and utensils we needed in the kitchen. New appliances are also available. It is located in a peaceful, quiet and safe neighborhood. Nikki and her husband were friendly and available if needed. Would definitely consider returning again.

Tidy and small. Great spot to relax but a bit far from any activities. Make sure you have a car to drive. Overall a very great place.

This place is a GEM! The apartment was pristine. Decor was cute and offered a relaxing vibe. We loved the black out shades option. Top to bottom I can’t say enough. Rachel had every thing you can imagine you may need, down to a sewing kit. She thought of it all. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. The area was exceptionally quiet but we rode our bikes daily about 15-20 min up to Duck to local restaurants and shops. The back road will take you to the walking/bike trail and keep you off the Main Street. The beach is literally a one min drive to the parking area, which we loved having access to the private entrance. I also genuinely loved the soaps and toiletry samples. We’d stay again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful place to stay at, a very safe and hidden location. The host is very responsive and gives great recommendations on where to eat and what to do if you need help making an itinerary!

Very cute space to stay. neighborhood was very quiet, wish it would have been closer to walk to more things but that really wasn’t a deal breaker for us as we were out and about the whole time we stayed. Bed was very comfortable and the shower water pressure was 10/10! we at at slice pizza, a recommendation from Sarah, and it was delicious. would stay again when we return to the outer banks

Joe’s place is a perfect little retreat at the beach for two. Compact, but has everything you need. The apartment is super clean and the little kitchen well stocked. Joe and his team were very responsive to our needs, and sent clear instructions from beginning to end. We had a wonderful time and will definitely stay again.

If you are looking for a great place to stay in the outer banks (Duck) as the perfect central location to do anything and everything with all of the comforts of home, amenities for all activities, and a great place to come “home” to after long days of exploring and activities this is IT! Jessica was a great host and has provided everything needed for a comfy stay including everything you need for a day at the beach, a good nights sleep, morning coffee any way you like it, as well as the small touches like quality TP. We were no more than 20 minutes away from anything we wanted to do from Nags head (Jennette’s Pier) to the beginning of the 4x4 beach drive in Corolla. In our short weekend stay we visited the Pier, the largest sand dunes on the east coast, saw alligator, bear and bald eagle (among other wildlife) on the refuges , a day on the beach in Corova seeing the wild horses and great walkable restaurants after seeing deer outside the door. Great place! Highly recommend!

Woods and Waves was the perfect spot for our vacation. Christy is an excellent and responsive host who went above and beyond to meet our every need. The apartment is cozy and adorably outfitted. The beds were comfortable (plus the alcove beds were equipped with an excellent selection of books and reading pillows). Every amenity was taken care of - the kitchen was stocked with dishes and cookware as well as coffee and snacks, and there were ample paper products and detergents for the dishwasher and washer/dryer. Every beach need was anticipated (including chairs, umbrella, and a backpack cooler). And the pool is a magical lagoon paradise that is shaded in the late afternoon - perfect after a day of relaxing in the sun on the beach. Don't hesitate if you're considering Woods and Waves - you will not be disappointed!!

First time staying in the upstairs apartment. Very roomy and a nice deck to set on. Bed was very comfortable

Our family had a wonderful time and wish we could have stayed longer. Loved that we had an ocean view and a short walk to the beach.

We had a great stay. The house was extremely nice and very clean. Comfortable area that was easy to get to local attractions. We plan on returning in the future. She was very nice to deal with and made sure everything was as it should be.

What can I say I haven't said before - this is my second time staying here and I'm looking forward to a third. It's always been quiet, and a perfect studio for my fiance and I. Pretty close to the middle of the strip, equidistant from most things and maybe a 5 minute walk to the beach. If that. Eddie has always been responsive from airbnb questions to just general information about the area. I know if we ever decide to make a trip back we'll be looking at this place first and foremost.

We enjoyed our stay. The location is very convenient. Peaceful, few minutes drive from beautiful beaches. Very clean apartment with comfortable mattress. Equipped with anything you need. My husband and me had "aperitivo" every evening on the balcony watching the water and the sunset.

Our stay at Erica’s Airbnb exceeded expectations. It was exactly as described—private, spotless, beautifully decorated, and stocked with thoughtful extras. The location was perfect: centrally located to everything, yet tucked away in a peaceful, quiet spot. It had everything we needed and more. Our favorite part was being able to walk right out the door and hike up Jockey’s Ridge to catch the sunset. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone vacationing in the area. Thank you, Erica!

Christina’s apartment was absolutely charming. Perfectly clean and cozy for a 2 person getaway. Everything was exactly as advertised. It is very clear that Christina cares very much about her guests and works to ensure they have a positive experience. The location is a short walk to the beach and right in the middle of many things to do. We hopped on bikes and explored the whole area. Great local shops and restaurants all close by.

This spot was very enjoyable and very relaxing. It’s just a short 10-15 minute walk to the ocean/beach which was perfect for us. The amenities were a very pleasant experience. I’d definitely recommend!

Absolutely phenomenal, 10 Star host!! Pat communicated with me throughout our booking and stay. During our stay we did have a few questions and she answered quickly. She has a convenient ice maker within the space and while we were there it broke. She immediately ordered a new one and was going to send Chuck to get us bags of ice until the new one arrived. We weren't worried about it but just the thought of them doing that was a plus! She met us at check-in and was very thorough explaining not just everything about the space but also a whole lot about the area, places to go, things to do and such. Both Pat and Chuck are extremely friendly and easy to talk to!! All the extras she included for us was absolutely amazing! She truly thinks about her guests and we could tell it's not just a money thing for them! Just as described, the beach is literally about 100 steps away and so totally enjoyable!! We will definitely be staying at Heathsville OBX in the near future! Thank you so, so much!

The Recovery Room was a perfect getaway for two people. Very clean and well kept private space below a house. Just a short walk to the beach wish a crosswalk to cross 158 just a few blocks down the road. Gia extremely helpful with recommendations and provided all the necessary information for a safe relaxing trip to the Outer Banks

Rhiana and James were great hosts. Very responsive and gave super easy check in instructions. The place was very clean and perfect. The hot tub was awesome as well. Location was great and located a short distance to just about anything you could imagine. 10/10 would recommend and we will definitely be staying here again if we come back to the OBX.

Great location! A 15-20min walk on the beach to Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and museum. We really appreciated the pool and hot tub! Mike and Corinne were super welcoming and all their restaurant recommendations were A+!

My girlfriend and I visited OBX for the first time. Staying at Island Pawz gave us a good walking distance to the beach, and it had a great cozy feel for a party of two. This Airbnb had everything you need to enjoy your stay. I would definitely recommend anyone visiting OBX to stay. This Airbnb is very affordable and worth the trip.
