When we first arrived in Kyoto, Aunt Yoko took the initiative to pick us up at the bus stop and gave us a lot of good travel advice in the two days of our stay. Her warm and friendly and deeply helped our two travelers to Japan for the first time, wishing Aunt Yoko healthy and forever happy.
A traditional Japanese tatami room features a low wooden table at the center, surrounded by colorful cushions. Soft, warm lighting is provided by a lamp, while an air conditioning unit is visible on the wall. Neutral tones create a calming and spacious environment.

Before check-in, the host gave us a detailed check-in manual, instructions on how to check in and register; the house is close to Imazato Station, there are Lawson and places to eat nearby, convenient to get around; there are three tatami in the room, so it is best to bring a four-piece set of beds, and the number of beds is arranged according to the number of people traveling (many travelers with heterosexuals can refer to our comments); overall, it feels good to live.

A defined inglenook features an iron kettle above a sand pit, creating a serene focal point. In the background, a low wooden table is positioned on tatami flooring, surrounded by sliding doors and natural elements for a tranquil ambiance.

It's not in the city, but it's a very close environment, and the housekeeper is very welcoming. Basically, 24 hours a day to respond. Especially if you can provide an oven to go to Kobe to buy your own meat. It's not much to say how happy it is.
A modern living area features two sofas, one light gray and one dark gray, arranged around a central coffee table. A wall mural displays a city skyline. Accent pillows in various colors add vibrancy. A round pendant light hangs overhead, and natural light brightens the space.

If you want to choose a Japanese-style house by the sea, I highly recommend this homestay (^ ^)/♫♪!The host was very friendly and recommended delicious and cheap restaurants nearby. He even called to help us make reservations and communicate with the restaurant. It was like coming home!As we all know, traveling requires a strong sense of independence, but such care and consideration is very touching.🥹 We specifically chose to travel during the low season and there were only three of us. It was like renting an entire villa! On the last day, I also chose another small villa of the host, the retro blue is very cozy, it would be nice if this review can be put with photos, the house is very, very close to the airport, the host personally drove us to the airport in the morning, we had a great chat all the way!The environment around the house is very much like a movie I like, "The Story of the Second Wife". It is a quiet and beautiful place o(^▽ ^)o You can really feel Japanese life away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Both houses are very close to the station!

Keiko's beautiful house is located on a quiet and charming mountain. The house is very traditional Japanese style, and you can experience the rich local atmosphere here.Keiko keeps the garden very beautiful and natural. The most praiseworthy thing is Keiko's daily breakfast, which is never the same and always carefully prepared. It's really delicious! The lunch and dinner were more abundant than the ones I had outside.Ms. Keiko is kind and friendly, and she will pick up and drop off guests every day. We had a lot of fun talking in the car, and I learned a lot of Japanese.I have fallen deeply in love with Kyoto this time. The wonderful memories of learning to make octopus balls under Keiko's guidance in the morning will always be in my mind. I will stay in Keiko's house again next time!

Feel Real Japan. brand-new, modern

OdileRating, 5 stars4 days ago
The best Airbnb we've ever had. Yoko bends over backwards to advise us on the best visits: bike rental for a tour of the city, on-site presentation of restaurants, transport facilitation. The accommodation is very stylish and extremely well maintained (negligent or disorderly people should refrain). Breakfasts renewed daily with fresh fruit and Kyoto specialties. The bookbinding workshop offered with his father is really exciting. In conclusion, a property to recommend to friends.

Albeit brief, this was my favorite stay of my entire Japan trip. The hosts were incredibly friendly and always proactive in making sure we felt at home not just in our accommodation but also in Kyoto and the lovely and peaceful neighborhood the townhome resides in. They made sure to follow up every question we had and made sure we were able to travel and make our next destination smoothly. We had some stressful travel beforehand, but they were extremely flexible in made our trip much easier. Also their cute daily breakfast was delicious and every single room had so much personality. It has a shared common space and bathroom but it never felt inconvenient and also allows you to get a one of a kind experience in Kyoto. The price was also incredibly reasonable and a great value. I look forward to returning next time I’m in town!

We stayed at Kuniko's apartment for a week. We have three kids, including a crawling baby. The place was a little tricky to find at first but once we found our bearings it was easy and very close to the station, less than ten minutes walk with kids and luggage. I hadn't received check in information 24hrs before our booking so I messaged to ask and was send details quickly. Self check in was easy and efficient. The apartment was very clean and spacious and clutter free which I appreciated with a baby. There was space for her to crawl around and the tatami platform for beds worked out perfectly for sleeping arrangements. A large fridge freezer and kitchen amenities were appreciated. Having a washing machine in the apartment was very convenient and clothes dried quickly in the bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and different each day. The kids were also happy to eat there every morning. Kuniko was very responsive and always helpful. Would highly recommend. 😊 Thanks Kuniko!

It was a very friendly owner and the description was very courteous. The information of local recommended restaurants and public baths (natural hot springs) was also accurate. There were also toys for children in the room, and there were attention to detail. Breakfast sandwiches are all delicious, but curry flavors are recommended (laughs)

The combination of the warmth of Sachiyo’s and Justin’s hospitality and the impeccable design of their home and the meals unmatched in terms of quality of ingredients and flavor was perfection. I am grateful for the simple touches of care and creativity each day. I felt welcome and so happy. I look forward to seeing them again. My heartfelt thanks go out to them.

My stay at Miyagon was great. I was picked up from the train station and there was a well-organized check-in. The place was clean and exactly as described. In addition, complimentary drinks and snacks were available. There was super delicious breakfast every morning, partly with local fruits that I had never eaten before. Miyagon himself was super friendly, always easily accessible and gave me a lot of useful tips for the trip. Thanks to a translation device, which you always had with you, communication was also easy. The house is located directly on a street that is full of cherry trees. In addition, there are many restaurants and shopping opportunities in the immediate vicinity. The only thing I found a pity is that I didn't book the place for a longer period.
