Humphrey House nestled in Oriental, NC

In 2015 we had traveled the eastern coastline looking for a place we could settle into as our vacation home. When we drove over the bridge into Oriental to look at property, it brought on the nostalgia of when we had visited Exuma in the Bahamas; the small town feeling where local arts, festivals and personalties made it unique. A town that you could step off the front porch and stroll to the town beach or walk to dinner.

A clean and modern bathroom features a walk-in shower with a white curtain and a toilet. Storage is provided by a white vanity with multiple drawers, alongside a minimalist towel rack displaying fresh towels. Soft lighting enhances the neutral color palette on the walls.

This home was ideal for a quiet and peaceful weekend getaway in coastal NC. The view from the patio was a major highlight. We enjoyed a lazy morning at home, poking around Oriental during the afternoon, and playing games back at the house in the evening. The yard was great for our dogs, and the house was a perfect size for the four of us. We would definitely visit again!

The home looks brand new, better than the description and photos posted. The kids were excited to see dolphins swim and play in the water nearby by each day. A great getaway. If you don't already have a boat, be sure to bring some kayaks or a canoe to take advantage of the ramp to paddle in the nearby creeks!

The kitchen countertop is visible, featuring a stovetop with five knobs and a range hood. A fruit bowl filled with apples sits on the counter, alongside jars of condiments and a bottle of wine. Bright natural light streams in from large windows, illuminating the open layout.

Excellent! Beautiful location right on the water - easy enough to just walk right out and be on the water. Place was very clean and comfortable. Nice to wake up and see sunrise over the water. Large windows made it amazing. Plenty of amenities like deck chairs, hammock, kayaks, life vests, etc. Really just a vacation ready to roll. Side yard was huge and very dog friendly. Even met the neighbor and he was nice as well. New Bern was 30 minute drive away and great to walk around downtown if you want that. Ben was excellent host. Very kind, super responsive, and made us feel taken care of if we needed anything. Highly recommend if you're looking for a quiet vacation spot on the water. Excellent experience and can't wait to visit again!

I've stayed here quite a few times. As always, the room and bath were perfectly clean and comfortable. Enjoyed having a sitting room with coffee and a mini fridge. The Neuse River and a lovely town park are right next door. Sylvia is a warm and friendly host with lots of knowledge about the town. A great place to stay.
