Located on a stone wall where two rivers meet, this renovated traditional house surrounded by trees is a single unit inn. There are no other buildings within sight, so you can enjoy the sound of the river, the sound of birds, and the sense of unity with nature, and the water supply is spring water (water quality inspection has been completed). Depending on the season, there are people who come and go from the river next to the house, playing in the river and aiming to reach Kappa Falls. If the weather is good, you can play in the river, BBQ with the ingredients you bring, You can also enjoy a fire. (Please be careful when handling fire.) When it rains, you can enjoy the ingredients you brought over the charcoal fire in the Irori fireplace in the room, or cook while listening to the sound of the river, as we also provide cooking utensils, a range, and dishes. We renovated a 160-year-old traditional house in 2023. The total site is 700 tsubo (2300 m ²), and the building is 170 m ², making it very spacious. While it is an 8-minute drive to Kumamoto Castle, it is a cottage where you can relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle. The garden is full of trees and flowers, including a large camphor tree that has been there for over 160 years, black pines, Japanese maples, and bamboo forests, so you can enjoy the trees and flowers in all seasons. The host lives in the adjacent building, so you can feel at home. Take a big, deep breath and refresh yourself from the heart. ●Here’s what you need to know · There are many mosquitoes and insects because there is a garden with many trees. If you don't like insects, it may be difficult to enjoy. The facility is located in a very quiet residential area. Please refrain from having loud conversations in the garden or on the deck after 8 pm.

I've been to Japan a lot, but it was my first time staying at an Airbnb, and it was a really, really good experience!! The room was very clean and large, and the shower and toilet were well equipped, so it was comfortable. I was worried that it would be hot because it was summer, but there was an air conditioner, and it was cool even without turning on the air conditioner in the evening. The monk was also very kind and nice. I liked it because the sound of the Buddhist chant in the morning felt rather romantic. If I have to come to Saga next time, I want to come again with my friends!

We loved our time at Hanneke’s place. She was so friendly and helpful. Her place had everything we needed. She gave us great advice about things to do, places to eat, Japanese etiquette, etc. We met nice people and saw lots of beautiful pottery. We will definitely be back. One tip: if you get off the train at Kami-Arita make sure you’re in the front carriage as they don’t let you out of the rear one. Also be prepared to walk or go to Arita station and get a taxi.
