Places to stay in Old Town, San Diego

Would absolutely recommend staying here! The hosts are friendly and responsive, the “cottage” is cute and well decorated. Space is clean and the front patio area is a nice bonus!

Lovely outdoor space! And soooo close to the beach. It being about 3 small blocks from the public parking and the lifeguard stations, means everything is just a bit less busy where the house is, and the beach is a little quieter if you go directly west from the house. The planes flying overhead are loud, so bring some earphones if that's something that bothers you. Joshua is a very helpful and responsive host!

Great stay! Just as described/pictured. The location is wonderful - we loved the beach area nearby.

Mark’s place was exactly as advertised. It was spotless and smelled clean from the front door. We chose his place because of location , which was incredible , and because of all of the amenities. He had everything you need - kitchen , bathroom , beach gear , chairs , bikes … I mean everything. Mark was awesome communicating with us - both before and during our stay. I would 100% recommend this place , and would stay there again. It was very comfortable for families , or couples. It was perfect 10/10 !

I almost don’t want to leave a review because I want to keep this place to myself… however I can’t not mention how amazing this place is. What a beautiful home with an unbelievable location! We will come back to this place every time we visit Mission Beach if we get the chance. Home is laid out well with 2 beds 1 bath, very comfortable beds despite being smaller, and nice to have private parking regardless of how tight the lot is. They warn you very well how tight the parking is, but we drove 2 half ton trucks and parked one in the lot and one on the street nearby. Very easy. Very easy to communicate with Cheyann and Rodney. Would recommend to anyone!

I loved this cottage, it’s location, and our experience. The exterior: private, behind a wooden fence steps away from the sidewalk, with the cutest succulent garden with some tasteful décor. The interior: meticulously curated vintage and retro-style pieces, always something to look at, I appreciate that it wasn’t an IKEA bulk order but a lot of love and care and personality. And it’s SO clean and doesn’t feel cluttered at all! I loved the round yellow bathroom tile, the kitchen sink, the leather chair and ottoman in the living room. So many gems all around. Katrina was a gem herself!!! My toddler got sick (yuck) in bed the first night, and K came to our rescue the next morning with new linens, completely kindhearted and understanding. Related- the free laundry was a godsend to have with a kid, and to simply not have to pack a ton! And the beach gear, stocked supplies in the cabinets, they thought of everything! ❤️

Absolutely loved my stay here! The place was spotless and had everything I needed—including a garage that fit my mid-size car perfectly, which was such a bonus. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk to the beach and surrounded by amazing local food spots. Communication with the host was smooth and prompt, from check-in to check-out, and they were super helpful with any questions I had. Would definitely stay here again!

Jeff’s place was in a great location in the middle of San Diego. The place was immaculate. He obviously is serious about the upkeep of his property and the happiness of his guests. I contacted him that we would be arriving pretty late on our first night so he made sure to leave the light on for us. Entry was always easy with the electronic locking system. Water pressure in the showers was awesome and we wanted for nothing. Thanks Jeff!
