In the old fishing village of Nyksund, there is the opportunity to go bird safaris, fishing trips by boat. Nature awaits!

When you leave Myre and drive the last mile on a gravel road that winds out around steep mountains on one side and the wild sea on the other, you realize the place you're going to is out of the ordinary. Welcome to our cabin at Smines in Vesterålen! Only 25 minutes away from Sortland and 15 minutes to the nearest grocery store in Eidfjord. Idyllic sheltered seaside cabin with its own floating dock and rowing boat. All of the fishing gear and life jacket are on site! Boat will not be available from October to April! Enjoy the beautiful nature Vesterålen has to offer with many hiking opportunities in the area, and dancing northern lights in autumn/winter. Also observed a flock of Pigs in the sea 🐬

Grandma's house from the 50s with sea view

Welcome to Farmorhuset in Nykvåg, in the middle of beautiful Vesterålen. The house was built in 1954 and combines nostalgic 50s style with today's amenities for a comfortable stay. I have inherited this house from my father, who in turn inherited it from his mother, and it has therefore been important for me to preserve the soul and history of the house. The granny house has three bedrooms with a total of four beds, which makes the house perfect for both small families and groups of friends.

Bring friends or the whole family to this beautiful and charming place. Here you will find a great swimming beach just below the house. It is 3-400 meters to another beach with playground equipment, volleyball court etc. There are great hiking opportunities on the island to Skaga lighthouse or to the many beaches on the island. It is 15 min. to drive to Stø with Hvalsafari, 15 min. to Myre where you will find a good selection of shops (sports , clothing stores, liquor store, 4 grocery st.etc.).

The cabin is by itself, and yet only 20 km from the city centre. 3 km to lovely beach. The large terrace with outdoor fireplace extends the living area in both summer and winter. Low light pollution in the area provides great opportunities for seeing Northern Lights! Barbecue hut and hot tub are free to use. Ideal for families with children, couples and groups of friends.

Suitable as a starting point for trips to Øksnes, Andøya, Hadsel and Lofoten. There are also great hiking/summit ski areas right outside the house. The area is rich in sea eagles and there is a high probability that you will be able to spot one. You can also rent a boat for fishing in the fjord.
