Really lovely lodge right by a private lake, excellent location for some beautiful walks. Had such a peaceful time relaxing.

We (2 friends ) really enjoyed our first visit to this part of the world. Ideally situated close to Wells and Cheddar Gorge, there are lots of things to do, especially when the weather is great. We were extremely comfortable and everything was provided for an easy stay, being well though out - dishwasher, microwave, comfortable beds, decent shower and more. Arguably one of the best and most enjoyable bits of the stay was using the hot tub. It was relaxing and being inside with magnificent views was simply amazing. It was a great relax all round and we loved being next to the alpaca field and often they would come close to the pod. It really was a great long weekend break for us and Debbie, our host was friendly, kind and more with all instructions being clear and of great use to ensure that every point had been covered. We definitely would return !

The shepherds hut was a lovely peaceful place to stay, it came equipped with everything we needed & was the Perfect break needed. Hot tub was lovely and bonus for the hut having its own bathroom. Decorated lovely nice & clean & overall great place to stay. Many thanks!

We had a fantastic night in a lovely spot! From arrival we were made to feel extremely welcome! Maxine and Rob were brilliant hosts and provided great recommendations. The cabin was amazing! Very comfortable, private and stocked with everything we could need for the night! The hot tub was clean and a great experience. We had a great time and couldn't have asked for anymore!

Would 100% recommend staying here , myself and my partner loved it 😍 everything was as described and the views from the hot tub was amazing. Scott and Laura were great at responding to messages as well :). Would definitely stay here again

Fantastic little cabin with nice hot tub, spotlessly clean and peaceful. All the additional amenities made such a difference. Only recommendation would be don't bring the keys into the bathroom it locks automatically and you can get stuck outside if you leave them in there! Fortunately, Annie came to the rescue first thing in the morning and we really enjoyed out stay. Thanks very much :)

The hut was beautiful and the hot tub a thankful addition. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The use of space in the hut is quirky and well furnished. The kitchen had everything we needed including some small essentials. The bed was really comfy and the bedding was lovely and fresh. The bathroom was really super clean and had towels and loo roll. The immediate surroundings were beautiful. I loved sitting on the decking with swans walking past and a gorgeous Goose family on the lake. Or chilling in the hot tub while the man fished. Plenty of pubs and restaurants around or Dominos Deliver! Very relaxing break.

Really lovely stay, in a pretty location. It had everything we needed and the hot tub was great. Thank you, we will be looking forward to coming back for another visit!.

We had a really relaxing stay at the cabin, it was just so peaceful, set just outside the village with some good walks. The cabin had everything we needed and more, and although the weather wasn't great for us, it was still relaxing to sit out on the porch. The Garden was totally secure for our dog, who had a great time exploring...it was also good to arrive somewhere with a dog and not have a list of dog behaviour rules!! Great communication with Sarah the host. The cabin is located across the drive from the hosts home, but is very private and has its own access. You look out over a lovely meadow where you can spot wild deer wandering. It is super cosy, spotlessly clean and finished to a high standard. Basic fresh provisions such as bread, milk, breakfast cereals, tea, coffee, sugar and wine are provided. There were even dog bowls and a towel left out as I had my dog with me. Good dog walks nearby. I also had a meal at a great dog friendly pub in the village – The Old Inn, which is, about 5 mins away by car. I would love to stay at the cabin again and will certainly recommend staying here to my friends and family.

Great little cabin in a lovely rural setting

A great place to stay! Very clean and well appointed. Beautiful location and very peaceful. Hot tub was clean and very relaxing. Our host Carolyn was very friendly, helpful and responsive. Really couldn’t have asked for more!

We had a lovely relaxing stay based at Amy’s cabin. Her cabin was a great base to explore the Jurassic coast and also to enjoy the surrounding countryside. Amy was a great host and made us feel very welcome, my daughter also loved playing with her children when we arrived back to the cabin for the evening. Added bonus points for the very friendly pony and chickens. Would recommend this stay for anyone wanting to explore the area.

The property was beautiful and very well equipped. It was set in a lovely location over looking a field with lots of wildlife. We felt very relaxed and at home there and Jenna was a great host and very responsive.

We absolutely loved our stay! It was perfect for the dog with the enclosed garden. It was a clean, modern space with everything we needed and the views were beautiful. Wells was on our doorstep which was handy too. We'd definitely stay again!

We stayed at Cedar Lodge (Oakwater Escapes) recently,Adam was a fantastic host very friendly and knowlegable on any questions we asked. The Lodge grounds had everything you need for a relaxing get away,hot tube is a good addition along with the open and well maintined nature areas. Ilminster is a freindly little town the surrounding area is beautiful,plenty of dog walks, a 20 mins walk to the George Inn where you will find freindly staff and definitley reccomend the steaks. A small drive away is the town which has a few shops, a chinesse and indian if you don't fancy cooking! Overall we will most definitely be back in the future. A*

Conkers is absolutely beautiful, I cannot recommend it or Martin highly enough.

We had a wonderful two night stay. We picked the property due to how close it was to Longleat Safari park and it was perfect! Very clean and comfortable cabin. Private and peaceful location and a lovely friendly host. We would highly recommend and this will be our first choice if we visit the area again.

This location really does live up to the description of an oasis. It feels completely removed from the bustle of the roads and has been curated to feel like a relaxing escape. Mac and John were extremely helpful, even picking up a late evening message asking about the lights outside. We really enjoyed our time in this space and would definitely come back.

Perfect spot, very friendly and helpful host. The pristine lodge has everything you could need and is a brief walk to Mere. Also nice of Richard to stock basics for breakfast, nice coffee etc - wasn't expecting that. I'm sure I'll stay again as it's perfect for visiting my brother in Mere.

Had a very enjoyable stay, the perfect spot for a relaxing break. Perfect location, lovely view and nearby walks. Donkeys were the highlight of our trip.

This cabin is a very cute and cosy, private place at the bottom of her garden. Self contained and in a natural garden with nearby chickens and ducks, trees and all sorts of plants. A sheltered camping kitchen with everything you need and a shower room and composting toilet in a nearby shed. Clean and comfortable - a gem of a place! Oh and don't forget the lovely fresh eggs as part of the breakfast. Many thanks Anne, we will be back!

A lovely relaxing stay here, we were staying for a nearby wedding which was in walking distance so very handy! The cabin was very comfortable and spacious, and had everything we could need for our stay. Very peaceful and beautiful surroundings too!
