River Side Guest House & Travels

Our stay at River Side Guest House in Maskeliya was a delightful escape. Nestled by a calm river with tea gardens nearby, the serene surroundings were a highlight. Host Nilanga provided excellent service, picking us up in Hatton at a reasonable rate, guiding us to Adams Peak at midnight, and dropping us off in Nuwara Eliya. Nilanga's friendly demeanor and local insights made the journey enjoyable. Nilanga's mother treated us to some of the best food in Sri Lanka. The accommodation was comfortable, offering a peaceful retreat. We highly recommend River Side Guest House for a wonderful stay with warm hospitality, beautiful surroundings, and genuine care from the host. Thanks to Nilanga and his family for a memorable experience.

Double Cabana in Adam's Peak Hatton

This was one of the best places we have stayed in Sri Lanka with the view of Adams Peak from the room. The scenery was breathtaking and the atmosphere was relaxing. Our attendee, Siva, was excellent and helped us from the check-in, serving food and all the way to check-out. They serve authentic Sri Lankan delicious food in the restaurant and the price was extremely reasonable. Would highly recommend to family and friends.
A serene landscape is depicted, showcasing rolling tea plantations leading down to a glistening lake. Sunlight streams through clouds, casting soft rays over the water. Lush greenery and distant hills create a tranquil backdrop, emphasizing the natural beauty of Sri Lanka's tea country.

MAAI

NicolausRating, 5 stars14 months ago
We have not found the accommodation immediately because maps did not find the address which is on the air bnb website. However, we called Maai and he came with his car to show as the way to the accommodation. The food (breakfast 1500 rupees pp. and dinner 1500 rupees pp.) were amazing and definitely worth the money. The served several courses for breakfast and for dinner. In our morning tour with our tuktuk we got stuck in the mountains. However we called Maai and he helped us to communicate with the locals. They showed us the waterfalls and helped us to get back with the tuktuk. We can really recommend this place

We really enjoyed our stay with Sharmini!! She was a lovely host that made us feel right at home, with recommendations on what to do and where to eat. Highlight was the meal she cooked for us and the tea. She helped us coordinate pick ups/drop offs and guided us to the bus station. Made us feel very safe. Highly recommend

Heaven Hills Guest House

Namal is an excellent host and his place is situated in a very pleasant environment where you have the view of the beautiful tea plantation and the lake (unless it's dry season). He is very helpful and makes sure that his guests have everything they need. His mother cooks excellent traditional Sri Lankan dishes for a very affordable price (best coconut sambar we tried). Namal is very well aware of the attractions around Maskeliya and can arrange very interesting sightseeing for you. We visited 5 waterfalls of breathtaking beauty, climbed the Adam's Peak and walked Horton Plains (it took us 4 days do it all). Our trips were handled by a very positive and considerate driver Taraka, whom Namal recommended. This fine gentleman was the best tuk tuk driver we ever met. In our humble opinion, the views from the top of the Gartmore waterfalls and surrounding tea estate (there are two viewpoints there) are better than those at Lipton's Seat and Horton Plains. In addition to that, the two lakes around Maskeliya are of mesmerizing beauty. All in all it makes Maskeliya a hidden gem for a demandful traveler, and Namal's place an excellent home for some of your best Sri Lankan adventures. The only drawback is that there almost aren't any decent places to eat aside from Namal's house, since Maskeliya is not a touristic place. Hopefully his mother will be there when you book the place!

Comfy Rooms with Mountain Views Near Adam’s Peak

Nimal’s place is absolutely perfect if you intend on climbing Adam’s Peak. It is literally about a 10 min walk from the entrance. Nimal is very warm and friendly, cooking us a delicious breakfast in the morning once we returned from the peak. The bedrooms are simple but perfectly fine. They are clean and comfortable which is the most important thing! There are loads of restaurants nearby too so great for grabbing a drink or some dinner. Excellent value for money too. Thank you for a great stay!
The exterior of Medalin Cottage is highlighted by a charming entrance with a sloped roof and large glass doors. Multiple windows allow for ample natural light, while balconies extend on either side. The sign displays the property's name prominently.

The house is situated by the lake, and the view is very good! The room is also very beautiful. It's cold at night. I don't think the quilt is enough.
