Located within a 3000 square meter property, the house is an example of Terceira’s traditional architecture: made of stone walls, the main facade looking south, with wooden roof and tiles traditionally handcrafted using local materials. The house was restored in 2018 maintaining the original construction plan and preserving some structures of historical interest, such as the water reservoir, the furnace and the press, lagar in Portuguese, from which the house takes its name.

The Red House, perhaps because of its red sofa, tends to induce in those who visit us a feeling of intensity, warmth, and love. While we can't say that this house is actually more intense than the others, we do recognise that there is a mystique and that São Jorge looks different from the bathtub. This is a very cute, cosy room situated in quite possibly the most stunning guesthouse on Terceira. A truly unique view from the living room made the whole experience unforgettable. Very nice + spacious bathroom, and the room was sparkling clean. I simply wish we could have stayed longer! The hosts are incredibly responsive, receptive and kind, and the housekeeper is an absolute sweetheart who very kindly laid out a breakfast spread for us each morning. Overall, I would recommend Silveira Bay in a heartbeat, and very much hope to return one day again soon.

A casa é muito bonita com uma arquitetura típica dos anos 60. Uma verdadeira pérola. O espaço exterior é muito grande, agradável, privado e bem cuidado. A comunicação foi muito fácil antes e durante a estadia. À chegada a casa estava um pouco fria e o anfitrião prontamente disponibilizou um aquecedor a gás que resolveu o problema. A casa está muito bem localizada a 10 minutos do centro de Angra e a 5 minutos da zona Balnear da Silveira. Tem uma loja Continente também muito perto. Os dois ponto negativos foram a falta de uma das portadas na zona do alpendre que impediu a sua utilização à noite pois ficava frio e o ruído da estrada nos quartos da frente dado que as janelas são de vidro simples. Em todo o caso foi uma experiência recomendável.

Excellent séjour. Un grand coup de coeur pour cet hébergement plein de charme, très bien décoré. L'intérieur est soigné, réalisé dans de beaux matériaux. Un super jardin avec un vue imprenable ! Nos hôtes pleins d'attentions, très réactifs. Je recommande ce petit havre de paix !
