Family-friendly vacation rentals in Northumberland County

We just spent 5 nights at the postmaster's house and we had a wonderful time. Communication with Trevor was easy and everything was as described. The location is fantastic for a vacation, even with our 2 year old son. The environment around the house and the view from the backyard is very calming. We would, without hesitation, stay there again!!!

Great location and cottage has all amenities needed for the good experience. The only inconvinience is a garbage policy, due to a holiday the recycling station was closed and we had to take all garbage with us. Thank you for having us, Chad

Dave was absolutely amazing with quick responses and adjusting to our last minute plan change, would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting peterborough and would like to have a quiet, clean and organized stay with all the amenities and outdoor activities.

We stayed a weekend in May. The place is immaculate and the view is beautiful, exactly like the pictures! Because it rained intermittently and cool we didn’t get to use the outdoor amenities including the firepits. The trail towards the back of the property around the pond was washed out due to the amount of rain we have been getting. It didn’t dampen our weekend though but we look forward to coming back and explore. We enjoyed outings like brunch in Sterling and a water buffalo farm 3 minute drive from the house which had great gelato. We also walked around the main road the house was on and met a few friendly neighbours. The hot tub was great and so was sitting on the deck having a drink and taking in the beautiful scenery. The beds were comfortable and each bedroom had their own bathroom. All amenities were there including the kitchen - we cooked 2 dinners and found everything we needed. Overall a great choice if you are looking for a place to relax with a view, this is it.

This was our third year staying at Paul’s beautiful spot on the river. As a group of seven seniors this spot is extremely suitable for our needs to be on one level. A perfect place for a larger group. Thank you Paul for letting us enjoy your clean, easily accessible home for our holidays. Hopefully see you next year.

We had a wonderful week at Paul's cottage. The setting was peaceful and the Otonabee River was so picturesque! We loved watching the boats go by!! Paul's cottage was super clean and well appointed. The beds were super comfortable. Next time we are in the area we wouldn't hesitate to book some time at Paul's cottage.

Heather’s house was a fantastic place to spend the weekend in PEC! The house and property were beautiful, spotless and came stocked with any and every amenity you might need. The location was also great as it was private but still close to many wineries. Heather was friendly, informative and responsive and made the entire process easy. We would highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a getaway in the county!

We were to check in on the day when a major storm was expected and Jose was very proactive in communicating and flexible in offering additional stay dates in case we were delayed. We have stayed at Jose's place over Christmas for the last 4 years and each year we return with incredible memories!

Ashley, place was amazing place very beautiful outdoor scenery. We ran into quite a few issues with the space, with there not having to air conditioning working and walking into the place to find a few uncleaned items. Ashley was very understanding about these issue and did help fix them and made sure we were taken care on that account. Thankfully overall other than mishaps going on was a wonderful place just would recommend more for event space or for large get together.

We were extremely happy with our stay at the log house cabin. Captain TJ and the team were amazing. They made sure we have a nice stay. The trip to Grasshopper Island was the highlight of our stay. So much to do at the island, my son loved petting and feeding the animals. Definitely coming back again!!

Beautiful unit, very clean and spacious. Loved the ceiling height and heated bathroom floor. Our party was there for a wedding at Whispering Springs which is about a 5-minute walk to the main parking lot.

We are a family of 5 and stayed at the cottage from Aug. 24-31st, 2024. We absolutely LOVED it!! So much to do for all of us, including paddle-boarding, canoeing, fishing, swimming, pedal boating and just chilling on the dock! We lucked out with perfect weather for this perfect cottage! We will definitely be back! Kelly and MaryAnn are awesome. Thanks so much to you both for a fantastic family summer vacay!

Amazing space and really comfortable - a lot bigger than in the photos! Our stay was very pleasant and relaxing. Well stocked with necessary supplies.

We happily enjoyed our stay in this Lakefield cottage. Our family have visited Lakefield in the past but it was the first time we stayed a whole week. The cottage was perfect for our family with the beach steps away. Walking into town is a great way to explore and lots of trails for easy hiking. We look forward to visiting again.

The cottage is very well maintained and spotless. The water view was exactly what I was looking for; waking up to swans swimming in the bay. My two pups enjoyed the quiet surroundings and daily excursions. A truely beautiful place.

Natalia and Evgeney were great hosts. They were both very responsive, friendly, and accommodating. Check-in was flexible and easy thanks to Evgeney, who did a great job at setting us up with our cabin. The cabin itself was exactly as advertised. We found it to be very clean. The view of Rice Lake from our cabin was great, and the area is really peaceful and quiet. Overall, we had a great time here! It was a perfect relaxing weekend.

Margaret seemed very nice, she left croissants in the kitchen for us to have in the morning. Overall a very cozy spot to stay and we had no issues. One thing I noticed is that there's an adjoining door that connects from her side of the building to ours and I'm not sure if it locks, maybe it does but I didn't see a lock option on my side. Anyway it still felt private and we definitely got what we paid for.
