Waterfront vacation rentals in North Africa

A well-equipped, spacious apartment with a lovely view overlooking the marina. Unfortunately, as other reviewers have stated, the apartment building does have a busy main road between it and the marina so sitting on the balcony is not a peaceful experience (unless you wear noise cancelling headphones like I did) but the balcony doors are completely soundproofed, so inside you cannot hear the traffic. At first I was little dubious on arrival, as along the road there are some buildings which are in need of some tlc but having visited Sliema (where I also looked to stay) it is no different there and in fact I liked the location as it was only a 20 minute walk into Valletta or convenient for bus tops (only 4 mins away) to explore more of the island. I appreciated Christiane’s quick responses to any queries.

I had such a great stay! The apartment was exactly as described — clean, cozy, and the view was absolutely stunning. The location is perfect, with so many restaurants and cafes nearby, and the bus stops made it super easy to get around. What really made the experience special was Peter — so friendly, helpful, and full of great local tips. I felt really well taken care of, and I’d definitely come back. Highly recommend!

The stay was beautiful. The view of the Harbor was indescribably beautiful, especially at night. Everything worked great, you can only recommend it!

We stayed at the accommodation in early April. The view is out of this world! You can get all the important information from Matthew and Julian in advance. The taxi drivers can also easily reach the accommodation. In fact, I can recommend Bolt's price more than Uber. At the airport you can also get the Tallinja map (bus card) directly. With the help of the app, you can easily get from A to B. The property is also ideally located for the meeting point of the day cruises to the Blue Lagoon and Gozo (7 min walk). Everything important is available in the accommodation itself. Since we were only allowed to take one hand luggage with us, our souvenirs were limited. So we were relieved to have found fresh towels and shower stuff there. A bottle of fresh water as well as toilet paper were also provided. Tasty restaurants can be found everywhere along the promenade (recommendation: Nine Lives and UMI) The first tourists already swim in the sea (but cold)

Very nice place right by the sea

Be clear with Mario on how many bedrooms you need. The ad of the penthouse says 3 bedrooms but upon our arrival just one bedroom was unlocked. A penthouse of one bedroom in the same area is way much cheaper. For the rest, the condo is clean, modern, beautiful, perfectly located next to the beach and Mario is really kind.

A peaceful place to stay right on the beach. There is a monoprix and several cafes/restaurants (incl. a great rotisserie chicken place and fancier sit down restaurant) walking distance. It is a quick 5-10min Bolt ride to the hustle and bustle downtown. We even walked the length of the beach to the downtown twice during the stay (1 hour walk straight down the beach). Instructions were clear, and it was easy to access despite being down a side road.

Absolutely stunning view! We went outside of prime tourism season on purpose, and it was so beautiful and peaceful. We were met at the water taxi for help getting our luggage up to the house (thanks, Spiros!) and our host was very responsive and helpful with questions - and tons of great local recommendations! It is up about 50 stairs from the small harbor, so tough if anyone in your party has mobility issues. But the experience is absolutely worth it! Highly recommend.

We enjoyed very much our stay at Maria’s place. A newly refurbished home by the beautiful beach of Playa de Palo, close to Malaga but not in the crowd. The house was super clean and curated in a lot of details. Maria was super helpful and very responsive, she gave us a lot of good recommendation. We definitely recommend a stay there!

Asa’s home is a great spot for a family vacation, it is very comfortable, located in a peaceful complex with a beautiful pool and in close proximity (walking distance) to a beautiful beach. The children enjoyed the home so much as it also had a small playground next door to the house. There were two other areas also within a walking distance with restaurants and other beaches. All in all greatly recommended. Thank you for the beautiful visit. 🤍

We had an unforgettable stay at the Seastar house! It's a real little paradise with its private access to the sea (you fall asleep to the sound of the waves), its dreamy sunset and its ideal location. The absolutely lovely host came to pick us up on the road to guide us, gave us good advice for visiting the premises and answered any questions we had. Delicious homemade cakes and succulent candied figs awaited us upon arrival. The house is small but very well arranged; the kitchen is well-equipped, beach slippers and towels are available, there are several spots around the house to eat, rest, barbecue or bask in a hammock. Parking is available which is very convenient. You can walk to a nearby tavern. But once there, you're in paradise between the sea and the flowers; you don't want to leave at all. We chose to stay at Constantino’s stunning home as our last stop before leaving the beautiful island, and couldn’t have asked for a better base to end our time in Madeira. Constantino provided many local recs and was super responsive. The home was clean with everything we needed. Can’t say enough! Thank you!

We had an absolutely amazing time at the house. The place is beautiful and very comfortable, the communication with our host was incredibly easy and the location was perfect for our needs. Excellent central location in Gibraltar with easy access to airport and public transport. Apartment was as described, good space and comfortable, with everything you would expect. Had an issue with electic power initially. However on messaging Luke he was immediate responsive and issue resolved. Excellent communication from Luke. Fantastic stay and would definitely return!

We had a nice stay. Large, modern and sparkling clean apartment. Balcony in the front and back so you have a view of the sea or the swimming pool and therefore can also choose morning or evening sun. The bathroom with jacuzzi, the kids loved the kids. In addition, walking distance from Albufeira Old Town and the Port of Albufeira. In short, definitely recommended!

very beautiful and clean house

We spent 5 weeks Feb-March in this apartment, and it met all of our expectations. Clean, with comfortable seating for 4, (something often lacking in holiday rentals) and all necessary facilities to allow us to cook for ourselves when required. An abundance of excellent local bars and restaurants with exceptionally friendly attentive staff made dining out a pleasure. The access to transport to all attractions across the island was also very welcome, with a bus stop across the road and the ferry a 5 minute walk away, and a constant stram of Bolt taxis on hand when required. The walks along the waterfront to St Julians and Valetta are very pleasant with interesting sights along the way, and recommended. We had the added bonus of being in Malta for Carnivale which was breathtaking. Minor queries were responded to promptly by Tina with friendly communication when required.

I traveled to Crete alone and was looking for a place where I am both central and close to the beach and have a way to find peace. The property offers around package. The apartment is characterized above all by the well-equipped kitchen and the two balconies, which offer both space in the sun and food. As a host, Georges is very kind and helpful and is available for any kind of questions. He gave me helpful tips for the region and got in touch for car sharing. A car should definitely be rented here, as the island is very spacious and you can only explore part of it by bus. The connection to Heraklion is very good. Overall, I had a wonderful week and a great stay in Costal Key! The only drawback due to the season: the beach bars and taverns are not yet open at this time and I had a construction site outside the door for the first days.

What a wonderful apartment and a wonderful host! I had the most wonderful time. I went as a female solo traveller and I felt incredibly safe the whole time. The apartment was exactly as described. The check-in process was smooth and the instructions were super clear. Palm beach is a short walk away and entry to view inside the ghost town is also nearby. The town is also nearby with some lovely restaurants and very friendly locals. The amenities are wonderful and the mini market staff are super friendly. The pool was always clean and it was a very pleasant place to relax. Dündar was an AMAZING host and was super responsive. He was generous with providing his advice and his warmth via messaging absolutely contributed to the whole experience being very positive. I highly recommended visiting this area and staying in one of Dübar's wonderful apartments. If I ever return to Famagusta, I will be sure to see if Dünbar has availability, as I felt totally at home.
