Cottage vacation rentals in Nixon

Don and Lisel were great hosts and very accommodating to our requests. I would stay here again. Cute, vintage house that matched the listing. Location is great. Within 10 minutes, we were at the Riverwalk center.

We had a great time, Tom was quick to respond when we were booking, the place was great, brought our dogs and had a really nice time. Right on the water and we had fun fishing from the lower level of the yard. Great outdoor grill and dinning area. Would stay again. Location was great and very convenient to everything.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming cottage! It was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing visit. The setting was peaceful and private—perfect for unwinding. The host was very responsive and thoughtful, providing clear check-in instructions and great local recommendations. We especially loved JPS Wimberley BBQ—it was delicious! And spending time at the river was truly amazing. We’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Very beautiful area, it was always quiet and peaceful you really only hear the birds. Everything was clean and very cute interior, very homey.

We had such a wonderful stay! It was relaxing and the home was so cute and comfortable. Cynthia also dropped by with the most delicious cookies! :) We will definitely be staying here again when our travels take us back to Wimberly.

The cottage was very clean and perfect for our family. Our host was very sweet and eager to make sure we had a great time. Highly recommend and would definitely start there again.

As I sit here and write this review I'm comparing my pictures that I took to the pictures of the rental and the more disappointed I'm getting. The pictures are nothing like what is shown for outside. The inside of the house was awesome. As for outside the grass was overgrown. The number of chairs that are shown was way less. Not to mention of the two chairs one was broke. Luckily we brought our own chairs. No corn was provided for the deer. I did reach out about the corn and was told it was in the pantry, but there wasn't any there. If you are not going to enjoy the outdoors and plan on staying inside this house is perfect. I wish there was a way to provide my pictures for reference.

Cozy and rustic little place with all one’s living needs facilitated. Also surrounded by vast grassy fields of adorable cows. Supermarket and Walmart are a short trip to town. Would stay again.

Excellent place to visit with beautiful views and wildlife. We seen lots of deer and even a The spring feed creek was very beautiful. The water is so clear you can se the bottom and all the fish swimming around. We saw lots of bluegill some bass and spotted garfish which I have never seen in the wild.

We absolutely loved this little piece of Heaven! Although it was a quick trip, in our short time we created lasting memories. The kids loved the space to run around, and absolutely fell in love with the fur baby, Brodie! We have 5 kids, and everyone had a great space, didn’t feel crowded. We loved spending time together in the beautiful outdoor space. Didn’t want to go home, and will def come back again.

We were in town for a wedding and were so lucky to have found this little gem. We can’t say enough good things about the oasis. I was impressed by how clean the house was, especially because they allow dogs. Even though the house is in a neighborhood, it is very secluded, and you can’t even see, or hear the neighbors. The views are breathtaking! We spent every day in the water hole and creek behind the house. Our dogs absolutely loved it! We got lucky that it had rained quite a bit before we got there because the swimming holes were full, and the creek was running fast and clear. We loved the treehouse and 2nd story back deck and utilized both. The floats that were provided were a nice bonus! I would recommend bringing your floats, fishing poles, and water shoes. Emma and Kim were very responsive, helpful and kind. This is a stunning property and I highly recommend anyone and everyone to stay here! Thank you to the Hosts for sharing your lovely home with us, it was a dream!

The house was just what we expected. Very clean, close to downtown, and our hosts were very helpful in allowing us to check in early since we arrived in town early that day. We would stay here again!

My family had a wonderful experience here. This place is well-appointed, comfortable, and clean. And the location is great – we had breakfast in Flatonia (Darlin's Diner), lunch in Round Top (Boon & Company), and dinner in Schulenburg (The Garden Co. Cafe), all in the same day! My four-year-old daughter slept well past her usual waking time because she said the bed was so cozy. We kicked a ball around the large field full of wildflowers and explored the antique barn (which was surprisingly broom-swept clean!) a few steps from the house. My two-year-old son enjoyed taking turns mooing back and forth with the cows across the fence. The sunrise from the front porch is an epic experience–songbirds everywhere, two owls hooting back and forth, and a wide-open view across the hills. My family would happily return for another stay.

This was a perfect spot, especially for a solo traveler! Had everything I needed, at a convenient location, privacy, great amenities, and easy instructions. Highly recommend!

I decided to splurge on my family visit & this didn’t disappoint. My brother lives only an hour away but we were seeing Willie at the Whitewater Ampitheater (both phenomenal) and I wanted to treat us all. Brownie points all around for my choice that are still going strong! Driving up the little hill into the driveway, we found the house nestled in among the trees with a view to the lake. Clean, stylish, roomy on the inside, my 6’4” brother was delighted with the king size bed, my daughter was delighted with the little balcony off her bedroom so she could read and watch for wildlife and we loved our big bed overlooking the front where the herd of deer gathered waiting for their corn! But the weather was perfect and we spent most of our time gathered outside in the comfy Adirondack chairs or in the screened in porch. The only sad thing about the entire time was how low the water in Canyon Lake has gotten. Pray for rain soon! Thank you, Richard. My brother will be back with his clan!

I had a wonderful week long stay in Wimberly and this house was a great home base. The house was very clean and comfortable. The owner had supplied water, snacks and coffee as a courtesy. The host was responsive, helpful and offered suggestions related to my interests. So much to do in Wimberley! Nearby State Parks, nature areas and parks have great hiking and views. Highly recommended!

Cute place! Nice weekend getaway! Nice walk to downtown!

Super cute rental that was just the right size for two people! Comfortable bed, clean linens, well equipped kitchen, nice bathroom. The host also had an awesome local guide for grocery, restaurants, and things to do. Very nice touch! The place is also pretty close to everything in San Antonio, including River Walk and the Alamodome.

Listing was very clean and perfect for what my group wanted. Host was super responsive and answered all our questions within a few minutes. Can’t recommend it enough!
