Barn vacation rentals in New Zealand

Beautiful barn style, accommodates three families easily all with their own bathroom! The line is very luxurious and beds comfy Communication was quick and efficient at very late notice. The place did have a few cobwebs and dust from the road but I think that comes hand and hand with being out in the countryside. Stunning garden outlook to sit and have your morning coffee. We throughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to other families or larger groups with all amenities supplied and a short drive to Te Arai beach. Thank you!

Booked the barn to sleep my family of 6, however only 3 of us ended up travelling to Auckland over Easter. My 2 year old LOVED the animals on the property, it was fun to go pet & feed them in the mornings. My 16 year old, loved the arcade machine. It truly is as described. I found it to be peaceful and cosy with all the amenities a family would need. Plenty of things to do on/in the property. I hope to book again in future so those who missed out can enjoy this slice of paradise. Comfy beds, and enough room for everyone to have their own space to relax and unwind. Loved staying at Meg’s place! It was a peaceful getaway. Loved seeing the horses and foals. Also enjoyed the very friendly dog and cat. The cat gets chatty when they see you and greets you when walking out to your car or coming back to the property. Facilities were great! Highly recommend and would stay again.

If you want a truly peaceful, rejuvenating escape in a beautiful serene location - highly recommend Susans place. Its rustuc, kitchy, full of personality and a great respite from city life. Susan is accomodating, friendly and lets you enjoy the pond and scenery in peace. Added bonus was no cell service at the Barn so we could switch off from the world - however Wifi at Susans house was accessible whenever we wanted (which wasnt that often) and we loved being off the grid for our 3 days. Thank you Susan and Sasha it was such a delight! x

One of our favorite places we stayed in our 2 week long New Zealand trip. The location is magical. Lots of room for 2 people. Lived meeting the doggo, chickens and looking over the vineyards. Thanks Andrew!

How an airbnb should be. Anna & Brian have created such a welcoming, peaceful oasis with all of the personal touches that make staying here so wonderful. A short drive from Auckland and you feel you're in the middle of nowhere (in the best way). A bottle of wine, homemade cake & bread, breakfast provisions (so many eggs we couldn't finish them all) topped off with a well kept tennis court, pool & spa - in a gorgeous apartment-like setting, we couldn't have asked for more. A great place to stay.

We had a lovely weekend at this beautiful airbnb. Perfectly located for exploring Martinbrough. The property was clean, comfy and beautifully decorated. We loved sitting outside in the sun reading our books and staring at the grape vines! It was so lovely to be somewhere so quiet. Thanks for having us.

We had a fantastic and relaxing stay at Dee's place, all the amenities were provided and the place itself is bigger and more spacious than what appears in the photos. Although I didn't meet Dee, she was very responsive and accommodating, setting up an extra bed for the last minute addition to our group. We appreciated the quiet and bucolic setting and we would absolutely stay here again!

An amazing place, great decor. Peaceful setting. Great amnesties. Responsive and friendly host. Really appreciated the touches like passion fruit and apples.

We didn’t want to leave! Your warm welcome on our arrival, accompanied by a gorgeous handwritten note, warm sourdough bread, fresh milk and freshly baked walnut chocolate chip biscuits, perfectly epitomised our stay at Cowshed Cottage! We loved the well-thought-out decor, the delightful linens on the comfy bed, and all the welcoming nooks that begged us to enjoy them with a hot drink and a good book in such a peaceful setting. The Cowshed Cottage, and you both, are the blissful warm hug that had us breathing deeply and releasing any stress we didn’t know we needed. One night was not enough! With a longer stay, we might just feel inclined to try out the spectacular gym, although I think cosying down with a glass of something delicious and another book might win out. We can’t wait to return and we will definitely be staying longer next time. Thank you both again for everything.

Such a cozy place to come home to after a tiring day. And with the bad weather we had on our first few days, the kids loved staying indoors as it felt like home. Everything was working well and the host made sure the house is clean and tidy and that our big group is well covered. Highly recommended!

We (myself, hubby, 11 year old) wanted a beautiful, peaceful spot that we could relax in and Deb's place really delivered. We loved the countryside setting that was so quiet, the cosy comfy beds, the fully equipped kitchen and the games room - we spent many happy hours playing pool! The location was fantastic, rural yet so close to Matakana. Deb and Anto were great hosts, very responsive. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing weekend getaway at Andrew’s place. It had great views and we loved that it was a very private property. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor amenities such as the spa pool, firepit the BBQ. The host was also very responsive and we had no issues during our stay. Thank you Andrew

We had a superb one night stay with Sally and Murray on our way to the Banks Peninsula. They were flexible, helpful and very welcoming. We enjoyed chatting to them, the breakfast was delicious and the garden was a tranquil haven. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Amazing family getaway!!! This is the perfect and private destination for a family vacation. We had such a large group of adults and kids so there were so many amenities and fun sporty things for everyone to do. The quality of the space is great, loved everything about the kitchen, movie room, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, basket ball, table tennis, darts, trampoline and spacious gardens! We especially loved the spa :) thanks again!

Such a wonderful stay. Only negative is that we couldn’t stay longer! If you’re looking for a home stay away from home, this is your place! We felt like we had checked into an old friend’s place. It’s a lovely home on a gorgeous setting. It ended up raining but Jen was so clever and gave us some alternative ideas which were amazingly fun (and we would never have found them if it hadn’t been for her suggestion). This is a hidden gem for sure!!

The home is spacious but you do not feel disconnected. Beautiful surroundings and well equipt kitchen. The indoor outdoor flow gave as an additional seating area for dinners etc. Fabulous facilities could not think of anything else that would be needed there. Would highly recommend The Red Barn.

What can we say, this was outstanding! From the moment we arrived we felt right at home. The styling of the house was beautiful, the bar was cool and the spa! We spent a number of hours in the spa, stunned by the breathtaking views around us. Not to mention the house smelled amazing, it was such a treat. Highly recommend Cam's place if you're visiting Little River, we will definitely be back.

We had another fantastic stay at this accommodation and we look forward to our next stay in the near future.
