Go jump in the lake off the huge dock into a quiet, scenic cove. Paddle board, kayak, float on a raft or take the pedal boat out to explore beautiful Smith Mountain Lake. Perfect for a family or couples getaway. The lake offers plenty of restaurants and shopping, golf, putt putt, a cinema, wineries and beaches. Please note the walk to the dock is very steep, with terrain similar to a moderate rated hike. You must be sure footed and wear proper footwear to get down the hill.

We enjoyed a wonderful long weekend stay at the cabin. The surroundings are beautiful and had we been in the area to enjoy ‘lake life’ this cabin would be a perfect fit. We were in the area to visit some museums in Roanoke and usually stay in hotels, but our dogs tend to bark and that bothers the other guests. As the cabin is dog friendly, we were able to crate them for a little while, while we enjoyed our day. Our host provided plenty of towels for our use, though we were surprised that there were no washcloths provided. When I mentioned this to our host, she said they’d take that recommendation for future guests. I’d also suggest that a box of tissues would be a nice addition (fortunately we had one in the car). But this is nitpicking, really. Bottom line - it’s a beautiful cabin and the surroundings are the same. Any lake loving boater would be right at home. And our host was friendly and communicative.

Kathryn’s place was the perfect location for our holiday stay! The rooms were cozy and clean—extra amenities, such as coffee, tea, and books/puzzles, made the stay extra enjoyable and easy. With three levels of beautiful lake views, it also makes for the perfect place to wind down after a long day. The condo’s location was ideal for our needs. We attended a family gathering nearby and this ensured everyone had a comfortable space to enjoy the season.

We can't say enough wonderful things about this property or the hosts. Our hosts were extremely responsive and every last detail was taken care of. The house is very well set up with pantry staples, a fully equipped kitchen, and spotless rooms. There were even games and toys for kids (and adults!). The location is beautiful; we couldn't have asked for more!

the place was beautiful and felt like home. it was free of clutter and for a person with 3 boys under 5 that was a blessing. the beds were very comfortable and the house had everything you needed, down to kids life jackets for the canoes. we were busy with a wedding all weekend so we did not get to take advantage of the peace of walking around the farm but I highly recommend Brides check this place out as a possible venue. the hosts were so polite. My 2 year old got marker on one of the couches and I did not realize it in all the chaos of the weekend, it came clean but the hosts had every right to be angry with us about this and charge me addiiontal money, but they were so very gracious. I highly recommend this place and will be referring all my fellow associates in the wedding planning world to promote this gem!

Affordable Privacy Where the Fish Always Bite!

This place was JUST what we needed for a few days "off the grid". My kids and I felt as if we were the only ones around and we played lots of games, did some fishing, and watched lots of TV together. We're very outdoorsy people who do lots and lots of camping and traveling, and we'd love the opportunity to stay here during the warm months! For this specific trip, we chose to kick back and be lazy and this was the perfect cozy place to do so. P.S. The view is beautiful, the road up to the house may catch you off guard at first because it's a little steep and windy but my Honda Odyssey made it. 😊

This place is great. The thing that stuck out the most is how clean it is….It is very cute and well decorated. The view is amazing. The dock is just down the hill. We enjoyed the firepit, outdoor grill, outdoor games and cute outdoor sitting area. Beds were comfortable. It is defiantly off the grid, best for people that want to hang at the house and enjoy the yard, lake and company. Fresh flowers, a personalized sign, and snacks welcomed us. We hope to be back.
