Sanctuary Hill

SueRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Was a simple but comfortable experience. Felt like we were out in the country but were still only 10 mins from town. LOVED the spa and the kunekune (who was always keen for pats) Enjoyed a quiet leisurely walk around the ring road in the morning- so peaceful and full of native trees and farmland. Would definitely stay there again - highly recommended

Comfort close to town: "Hemispheres on the Park"

CarrieRating, 5 stars5 days ago
Great communication and fantastic instructions throughout our stay! Exceptional stay for a couple adult friends looking to relax and explore the Taranaki area. Clean and functional 2 bedroom layout with a cozy lounge/living room, with a great selection of utensils and other basics throughout. We made a great meal with the microwave and small electric griddle available. And of course - THE HOT TUB/SPA POOL! Nice fit for two and perfect for easing the travel and hiking aches, even in the chill of winter. The property and surroundings are quiet. There is a nice deck area with seating for the rental, looking over the bordering park in the back yard. It would be a great place to stay for any length of time. I had a sore knee when I visited, on top of widespread chronic pain. While there are irregular steps going down to the rental, and there is not always a handrail, the steps are flat and consistent, low height. A couple steps in the deck. I took my time, used a light, and was fine.

Incredible city farm escape. Walking distance to Womad, we enjoyed listening to the festival while being in the hot tub. The property was packed with things to do. Very homely

Country Retreat Glamping

MicaelaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
My partner, our dogs and I stayed for a long weekend and absolutely loved it! The spot is beautiful and private, Linda had everything so well set up and was fantastic to deal with. We were so grateful for everything she provided (fresh eggs, fresh baked bread, Easter treats, dog treats, feijoas), she really went above and beyond. The outdoor bath was a highlight - so relaxing and peaceful, there were bath bombs/bubble bath there to use which was great. Would highly recommend staying here. We’d love to go back.

Stunning Rural Apartment

MelRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Myself and my 3 kids had a great stay. The views out over the hills and ocean are wonderful (the sunsets were magic!). The space was comfortable, modern and well equipped with all the pieces you need - especially the kitchen with lots of utensils, baking pieces etc. A short drive from Oakura, and not far into New Plymouth makes it a great location.

Stroll to Bowl of Brooklands

Brooke your house was an amazing find for us. We love the location, how quiet it is & an easy walk into New Plymouth. Most of all a 5 minute walk to Pukekura Park. The whole weekend for us worked better than we ever hoped. Your house is comfortable, your beds are comfortable, 2 bathrooms are a plus, & your kitchen space was a bonus for us to prepare food. Thank you again. Kind regards David, Mel, Ken & Annetta

Great place, nice and spacious and good location near the beach. Just be aware there’s a flat above and may be some noise from folks walking around in the evening.

EcoInn: Self contained off-grid large home

FinnRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had an excellent two night stay here. The house is amazing, plenty of space and well equipped for big or small groups. We cooked both nights and had everything we needed. The games room is a lot of fun and the fire was very welcome. Our hosts set the fire for us the night we arrived which was very kind. Clean and comfortable. Plenty of space for parking. A car is definitely needed to visit New Plymouth and the surrounding area. Host was responsive on the app and the house was private in peaceful surroundings.

Whanga Butcher Shop on the Forgotten World Highway

MartynRating, 5 stars2 months ago
The Drive from Taumaruni to Whangamomona is a nice drive. We loved the small town and how friendly everyone was in the pub that night. Ceri's place is well worth a stay. The old Butchers shop from a time long gone. Amazing History there. Thanks Ceri.
