"Oki-na Genkan" is a traditional Japanese house located in a quiet rural area of Shinshu, where you can spend a relaxing time. Only one group per day is allowed. You can see the traditional rice terraces in front of you, the magnificent views of the Southern and Central Alps to the east and west, and thousands of beautiful stars shining at night. There is also a cafe where you can drink tea. (During business hours) There is also a regular children's cafeteria, which serves as a meeting place for locals. Breakfast is homemade rice, miso, soy sauce, and dishes made with local organic vegetables. Children are more than welcome. The garden has a variety of plants and is spacious enough to run around. There is a beautiful river with wild fireflies right nearby. You can go directly to the river in your swimsuit. It's private and hard to find, but I can show you the way. The Tenryu River flows through the middle of Nakagawa village, and there are many attractive tourist spots and specialty products. Please let me know if you have any requests, such as agricultural experiences, activities, moving, sightseeing, etc., and I can provide and introduce them. The "Big Front Door" is an old and new inn where you can feel the season with all five senses. We'll help make your trip the best.

Daniel and Sui were amazing hosts, a sweet couple, who spoke great English, fluent Japanese, and Mandarin. Daniel took us back and forth to Hirata train station in the mornings and evenings. from Hirata station, it's 6 minutes to Matsumoto Station. we couldn't find any lodging near Matsumoto station which is how we found the airbnb. We didn't explore anything near the Airbnb but Daniel did take us by his vegetable gardens. Matsumoto is a great city to explore with delicious food. Sui prepared locally grown organic Fuji apples, Asian pear, and persimmon as well as teas and coffee. They had a fire for us and we felt very comfortable in the shared living room and kitchen. we were able to borrow their refrigerator and both days Sui prepared fruit for us to take. she also taught me more about Japanese culture (we share a Taiwanese background). my daughter was very comfortable with both the hosts and wished to stay longer. I enjoyed meeting them and hope to see them again! thank you!

Wonderful experience staying at Villa Mitoreya. It's not your usual Airbnb, it's a lot more. The house is amazingly built with beautiful views and Tsuyoshi was an excellent host. He was present to welcome us, he went out of his way to drive us to a nearby restaurant so we didn't have to worry about parking and having a drink. His breakfast were delicious with many small details. It was like having a personal chef at home. We really enjoyed the peaceful environment and watching the local train pass in front of the house. It was like being in a Ghibli movie.

Best decision to choose Mari’s tiny house. From the very first beginning I was welcomed very warmly. Mari and the whole family is very open, talkative and super friendly. I was invited to take dinner with them, get to know each other and got lot of insights for that idyllic nearby area. The tiny house felt very spacious, had a really nice and calm night there and got breakfast the next morning. Thank you very much for that resting memory. I really enjoyed the stay and loved to hear your story. All the best :)

The family was incredibly nice. Felt like we were part of the family. We got recommendations on what to do in the area and they drove and picked us up at the station if needed. Always got very good breakfast in the morning and you were always happy. We got our own part of the house so we always got our privacy to ourselves when we wanted it. There is a lot of fun to do in the area and very nice nature to enjoy. They were also very helpful if you had any questions or needed help with anything. The whole experience was just as intended and the family looked after us in the best possible way. Definitely recommend this home, and can't wait to go back.

It fully maintained the good points of an old house, and on the contrary, I felt it was beautiful. The owner and his wife and daughter's lovely hospitality made for a lively time, and the food the owner made was beautiful and had a very gentle taste that brought out the best in people. The experience around the fireplace was a very atmospheric first experience, and it seems that my mother who I took with me also drank a lot of alcohol, and it was lively throughout. My daughter had the experience of splitting firewood, fanning the fire, and cooking rice in a kamado, and I think the rice was exceptionally delicious. The wife was also carrying her child, but she handled it with a smile and was very friendly. I am very grateful that my trip with my two daughters was very nice.

I stayed at Chikyuyada with my mum for a couple of nights and it is one of the best Airbnb experiences I've ever had. Bou san is such a kind and generous host. He has created an amazing way of life in Azumino that he shares with his guests. Food was delicious and home grown, house was warm and cozy and other guests were all lovely too. The near by onsen was very beautiful and we hired bikes and visited Daio Wasabi farm. Would 100% go back and recommend to any body visiting Azumino!

Keiko-san and Tushi Hisa-san are like the Japanese mother and father I never had. They are kind, generous, and took care of me during my stay. Keiko-san cooked the most amazing, authentic, and filling meals. Tushi Hisa-san harvested taro, which was part of the dinner one night. He regularly stoked the fire, so the living area was nice a cozy, even though the outdoors were cold. They even drew me baths every evening. I had a great time walking around the countryside, watching life move at a slow pace, and relaxed. I highly recommend for those seeking to find calm and peace.

What an amazing place - it was the most authentic & unique stay we had during our trip to Japan. The house is huge and has tons of traditional Japanese character. It’s located in a tiny mountain village, with stunning walks on the doorstep. The host Shinji was incredibly welcoming - we booked dinner for our family and it was a brilliant experience. We loved sitting by a traditional hearth and eating locally sourced & freshly prepared dishes. Traditional onsen bath was a cherry on top. Overall a brilliant, quintessential Japan experience - I’d recommended anyone staying here if you can.

Kaisho and Ting are fantastic hosts. They took the time to pick us up at the train station and introduced us to the local Onsen and to a great tea shop nearby. The flat might be hard to reach if you don‘t have a car, but it‘s so peaceful and surrounded by beautiful nature. Kaisho provided us with a traditional japanese breakfast for which he asked us about our food preferences in advance. The beds were comfortable and there was an additional tatami room connected to the bedroom. It‘s a nice place to stay if you‘re looking for a rural japanese living expreience.
