Enjoy the babbling of the river and the wonderful scenery that changes with the seasons while enjoying a barbecue or tea time. There are two large bathtubs and showers where you can relax in the bath. Families and groups can all bathe together. Also within walking distance is Hachioji-sanso, Makino Shiraya Onsen. It is a hot spring facility where you can enjoy one of the best 100% natural radon hot springs in Kansai. Please feel free to use it. You can enjoy a barbecue on the outdoor wooden deck. You don't need to bring any tools. Please bring only ingredients, condiments, and drinks. * In case of strong winds, we may ask you to refrain from using the barbecue area for safety reasons. ⚠︎ Because the mountains are close and the location is rich in nature, insects may appear indoors depending on the season, even if we take countermeasures. We renovated a 2-story storehouse built in the Edo period and turned it into a guest house. Although it is not spacious, a kitchen with an IH cooking heater has been set up on the first floor, while retaining the atmosphere of a traditional storehouse with earthen walls and thick beams.Fully air-conditioned on the 1st and 2nd floors for a comfortable stay.You can experience the sound insulation, the coolness of the summer, and the warmth of winter. There is a sauna facility about 5 minutes away by car, Anekawa Onsen about 15 minutes away, and Kita-Omi-no-Yu about 20 minutes away. There are many sightseeing spots unique to Nagahama, which are often the setting of history. In addition to the area around Lake Biwa, Japan's oldest railway station building, Nagahama Railway Square, Yanmar Museum where children can play, Kurobai Square, and other activities other than history. Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.
