Brún

KatrinaRating, 5 stars9 months ago
This place is completely secluded from civilization. One hour from town, along an unpaved road. The scenery is stunning and beautiful. This house is at the end of a fjord, in a village of less than 10 people. No stores, restaurants, or traffic!!!! Peaceful and a place in this world to be one with nature. The house is amazing! Beautiful view of the fjord!! Waterfalls in abundance on the drive down and up.
A two-story blue house is positioned on a vast green lawn, surrounded by lush vegetation and a hillside backdrop. The structure features large windows, allowing for ample natural light. A swing set is visible on the lawn, enhancing the outdoor space.

Beautiful old farmhouse full of family and history, it had everything we needed and was homelike and comfortable. Just a few steps away from restaurants in town with a beautiful view and history. I highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a unique and historical experience.

Asgard - A cozy home by the seaside

sveinbjornRating, 5 stars6 months ago
It’s a beautiful little place by the sea. And it’s like stepping into a time machine back to 1970s or 80s. Really nice.
A wooden house with large windows is positioned alongside a paved pathway. The surrounding landscape includes neatly trimmed bushes and a small assortment of colorful flowers. In the background, multiple residential buildings are visible under a sky filled with clouds.

Sunnugði

This is a beautiful family house - the pictures online actually don't do it justice. Not only are you getting a home that is fully equipped for children / adults (as there is a family living there when it is not rented), it has multiple extra rooms that are not pictured - like the two kids rooms + a master bedroom. Esther keeps her house very clean, it is well set up (with all the bedrooms down one hall and the living space on another side), and it just feels nice being there. There is a lovely outdoor space and her home is walkable to most of the key areas of the town. Overall, this definitely a place you want to stay if you are in the area - especially if you have kids.

Seaside cottage in a remote fjord

Paul WRating, 5 stars8 months ago
If you’re looking for a peaceful remote location in comfortable surroundings this is the place. As described, it’s 30 km on a gravel road, and will be a bit difficult in winter weather, so don’t plan to leave the valley on a daily basis at those times. However, the atmosphere is part and parcel of this, and I’ll be glad to go back someday. Also, Oskar was very concerned and helpful about making sure we knew when road conditions were slippery, and was willing to hook us up with locals if we were concerned about getting out (which we were not).
The modern house features a wooden exterior with large windows, allowing views of the surrounding landscape. Soft lighting illuminates the structure at dusk, while a spacious deck extends in front, providing a welcoming outdoor area. Snow-capped mountains are visible in the background.

Lakeside Apartments - A

NicoleRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
I traveled alone this time and was very lucky to stay in this beautiful place for a long time. From the first day I felt absolutely comfortable and at home. The apartment is quiet, modern and furnished with a lot of care, immaculately clean and well equipped, ideal even for longer stays. Especially beautiful: the fantastic view of the Lagarfljót and the surrounding mountains. With its separate entrance and self-check-in, the apartment is perfect for those who appreciate tranquility. At the same time, it was nice to know that Heiða and Andy live in the same house with their family. Both are very welcoming, open and helpful – and just to the right extent. Her kindness really made my stay special. It was difficult for me to say goodbye and I would have liked to have stayed. Thank you so much for everything, Heiða and Andy. I look forward to seeing you again!
