Converted Shepherds Cottage in Traditional Cork Forest, with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen & private terrace and a family shared swimming pool is available. Situated in beautiful countryside of cork trees, olive groves and vineyards, on the foothills of the Serra D’ Ossa 20 km south of Estremoz. Ideal for sight seeing in a scenic and historic part of Portugal and within easy reach by motorway of Lisbon (2 hours) and Spain (1 hour). There are a myriad of activities to enjoy on the farm. For the walkers or mountain bikers there are kilometers of footpaths around the 540 hectare farm for you to explore and for those wishing to venture further afield, the nearby peaks offer unrivalled views of the surrounding countryside. Serra d’Ossa lies at 500 metres above sea level and boasting one of the driest climates in Europe. The absence of light pollution makes this an astronomers’ paradise. Twitchers can enjoy seeking out over 70 species of birds in the unique habitat provided by the cork forest, several of our past guests are members of the RSPB and have made lists of the birds they have seen / heard. Here is a list of a few: White Stork, Booted Eagle, Red Kite, Kestrel, Cuckoo, Tawny Owl, Hoopoe, Red-Rumped Swallow, Great Bustard, Little Bustard and Bee Eater. Visitors to the local damn include black winged stilts and the occasional avocet. Very occasionally, bustards can be seen in the lower plains. Within a one-hour drive from the farm, you can also explore nearby towns including Evora (a UNESCO World Heritage site), Estremoz famed for its Saturday morning market, Vila Viçosa with its two royal palaces, Reguengos and even neighbouring Spain. Historical tours of Evora can also be arranged through a private guide. Vineyards : While predominantly a hilly cork forest , a vineyard has recently been planted in an open valley producing Alicante Bouschet, Aragonêz, Touriga Nactional and Syrah quality grapes. Most of the grapes are sold; however a selection of the best quality grapes are retained for the production of a high quality red wine sold in Portugal under the Cem Reis label, and in the Netherlands under the Het Tientje name. This wine has been awarded silver medals in Wine Masters Challenge (Portugal), Mundus Vini (Germany), and Challenge Du Vin (France). Next year a white wine will also be produced from viognier grapes. Our wine and some products are available for purchase onsite.

A place with the scent of peace, between arts and inspirations, it is ideal for a couple. Simple but very cozy, it is located between the Castle and the main square. Everything is right there. It has a simple but pleasant garden, with a swimming pool/Jacuzzi ideal for cooling off. From the backyard, you can see the village of Luz, a little of the dam, and the colors of a sunset waiting for millions of stars! After all this, you can still walk through a very beautiful village and have a coffee on its esplanades. The night is very pleasant.

Rural retreat in Alentejo, up to 4 pax

Our house is in the family for more than 5 generations. Located next to the old train station of Vimieiro now deactivated, it's an example of the vernacular architecture from Alentejo, with large chimneys and white washed walls. The house is very close to the main cities and villages from central Alentejo, such as Evoramonte, Arraiolos, Estremoz and Évora. Only one hour and half from Lisbon, it's the perfect retreat to discover Alentejo wineries and enjoy the Portuguese countryside.

The property is a fully restored old house, with Alentejo architecture prevailing and the use of local materials. It consists of 3 bedrooms (2 on the ground floor and one on the 1st floor), with several living and leisure areas. The exterior has a pool tank, a shed with a dining area and barbecue. 10 minutes away you can enjoy the river beaches of Mourão and Monsaraz and be enchanted by the view of the Algueva from the village of Monsaraz.

Quinta S.Francisco is our home, located in the Alentejo countryside just three kilometers from the beautiful city of Evora (World Heritage). It is a typical Quinta of Alentejo and very comfortable. It has several areas for enjoyment and relaxation such as SPA with Hot Tub, sauna, swimming pool and exterior shower. Exterior kitchen,bonfire place and gardens with relaxation areas. The Breakfast,SPA and Sound Healing has an extra cost.

Casa dos Centenários - Blue Accommodation

The blue consists of a living room with an equipped kitchenette, double sofa bed, TV, Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, 1 bedroom with a double bed and 1 bathroom. Maximum accommodation for 4 people. Garden with swimming pool, barbecue, sun loungers, hammocks, garden dining areas and two small lakes. Pets are not allowed. PLEASE NOTE: WE HAVE 7 CATS. The garden and pool are shared by the two accommodations. The garden has 2 surveillance cameras.

To the west you can enjoy the Alentejo coast, and to the south the Algarve where we find the most magnificent beaches.
