We stayed hear for my brother’s PhD graduation from Virginia tech and loved it! It was 40 minute drive from Blacksburg but would do it over again bc the lake house was so peaceful and spacious! Highly recommend this place especially if you had time to use the lake!

We had a great stay in Smith Mountain Lake at Rachel’s home. It was a great home for our family that came to celebrate our son graduate from Liberty University. The drive was about 50-60 minutes to Lynchburg, but it was nice to be out at the lake and out of the traffic of Lynchburg. The home was fully stocked with everything we needed and more (crockpot, baking pans/dishes, pots/pans, full butlers pantry/laundry room), the bathrooms were all updated, all linens were provided, paddleboards/kayaks were fun to use, we enjoyed the pool table in the basement, the dining table sat 8 which was great for all of our meals and gathering with family. The living area on the main floor is sizable and open providing a good place to gather, the basement allows another option for people to spead out and have space and many decks outside to enjoy the lake. We would stay here again.

This place is awesome! It rained most of the time we were there, but with all the amenities there was plenty for us to do around the house. The dock is awesome, and it’s on a nice, quiet, spot on the lake. We hope to be back in the future!

Such a serene beautiful setting. The geese, the 2nd floor view of the lake and trees and the separate spaces for my daughter and I made it a peaceful way to awaken into the spring day. Thank you for such a special experience!

Stayed May 26-June 1. Perfect cabin for 4 people. We drove our RAM truck hauling 2 Harley bikes. The yard is big enough to accommodate. The driveway is gravel but it wasn’t too uphill. We encountered few problems and Ms. Jill answered all our questions and helped with the situation. She’s a phenomenal host! She’s very responsive, and accommodating to our issues. Complete amenities. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. We did brought our own ( we always do). We cooked breakfast for three days and cooked some steaks on the griddle outside on our 2nd night. Washed our clothes, laundry supplies provided. Great WiFi connection. We rode our bikes to the mountains. If you love to ride, you won’t regret staying here! 5 star review. Definitely recommended!

We had a wonderful stay. We loved the pool table and games. We enjoyed the beautiful views of the lake. So much nature surrounding the home. There was also a storm that knocked out power temporarily and the generator did not miss a beat. We were able to cook out on the grill that was provided with plenty of propane. We couldn't ask for a better location to celebrate our son's graduation from VT.

We had a great stay at the lake house. There was a private dock located very close and a swim area just a couple minutes down the road. The house had beautiful views and was well stocked with everything we needed for the week!

We had such a wonderful time! The home was clean and beautiful, plenty to do there at the home and in the surrounding areas. Even with the many homes on the street, it felt private and relaxing the entire weekend. The host, Joe, was also so friendly! He gave us a tour when we got there, was extremely helpful, and he even helped us start our fire in the fire pit when he saw we were struggling. Wonderful place, great hospitality, would absolutely book this place again! Thank you Joe!

For peace and quiet in a beautiful location, this is your spot. Great accommodations within an easy drive of Sparta and West Jefferson for small town attractions with genuinely nice people. Recommend bringing fishing rod for the pond and binoculars for wildlife sightings. Use Google maps instead of Waze for the address for ease of initial arrival. We’ll definitely be repeat guests!

The Lover’s Nest is just as described. It was a perfect, peaceful getaway with the outdoor areas only adding to the charm and oasis feel of the place! We will definitely be coming back to the The Lover’s Nest in the future

Joe’s place was very nice . Loved everything about it . He was very nice and answered as quickly as he could . The horses are absolutely beautiful . Would definitely rent from Joe again. My husband is a retired vet and he said it was a nice getaway to clear his mind . Thank you for allowing us to rent your place .

Pictures do not do this place justice! My husband and I love the wildlife, the beautiful view and the fishing. We also really enjoy the fire pit. It is so good to have a bonfire and enjoy the sparkling stars and the sound of the gentle river.

We have been traveling to the area for the past 3 years on Memorial Day weekend to visit the 2 wineries near Meadows of Dan. This has been our favorite place to stay so far - outstanding. The property is accurately described in the listing. Very peaceful, beautiful surroundings on the farm, and easy to get to the wineries. The house has a great layout and the porch swing is so relaxing. These hosts pay attention to details which enhances the overall stay. I would highly recommend.

The land was beautiful. Perfect spot to relax and get away, but also close enough to downtown/lots of things to do. It was wonderful to be able to bring my pup instead of being cooped up in a hotel.

Had a wonderful stay at Lindsay’s place! The lake views are unbeatable. Great location to the New River Trail and we were able to bike a few miles. The Draper Mercantile has delicious food and lots of little gifts to shop. It was just the relaxing get away I needed.

Honestly the listing doesn’t quite do this cabin justice. The view is gorgeous and the cabin itself is incredibly nice and peaceful. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway!

What a cool place! We loved staying in the dome. Super clean and looked just like the photos. The best part is sitting on the deck listening to the river. So peaceful! I could’ve sat there for hours. Very comfy bed and pillows. Very modern and tastefully decorated. It’s about 15 minutes to Lewisburg which is an adorable quaint town with great restaurants and shops. The sour dough bread and pepperoni rolls were delicious. We were celebrating my daughter’s birthday and it was such a unique and memorable place to stay. The host was easy to communicate with and quick to respond. Thank you for a great trip!

My girlfriend and I wanted to take a vacation to visit her hometown. Little did I know I would pick a spot that was on the same road she grew up on as a child. It’s a beautiful mountain drive a little scary at first but you’ll get more comfortable with it the more you drive it. Beautiful little home, awesome heater, cool roomba, microwave, toaster, fridge with ice everything you could possibly need they had. I would definitely come back and you all should definitely check this place out!

David’s cabin was inviting, peaceful and a perfect getaway. We loved the sauna, hot tub and fire pit. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a beautiful escape into nature.

We were here briefly to check out Virginia Tech with our son, but we will be back to enjoy some recreation next time! The cabin was adorable. I loved the decor. The bathrooms were so nice. Kitchen was well stocked. The proximity to the river is a huge perk and the view is incredible. Host was gracious and informative. Hihky recommend renting this one.

If you are seeing this, just book it! This place is amazing!!! The pictures are great but don't even do it justice. The yurt is truly a work of art yet the whole atmosphere is so comfortable, cozy and tranquil. The amenities listed are enough that you really don't even need to leave the location. But if you do, there is a unique restaurant/general store/mill near by that is so beautiful. They do a have stocked pond and fish food that you can buy to feed the fish! As well as another general store, a grocery store and bakery about 20 mins away. The general store has amazing coffee! There are a few trails near by as well and just driving in the mountains in and of itself is a unique experience. I can't recommend this yurt enough and will definitely be coming back to WV just for it! It should be added to the list of WV landmarks.

We arrived a bit early; when we got there, Dave and Susan were doing garden works and stopped what they were doing and greeted us with big warm smiles and hand shakes. Right away, we felt this is home. Dave and Susan introduced their property, garden, trail, chickens and Ruby (a young curious dog) to us. They even offered some fresh garden greens for our dinner. Then, we checked in the house and it was just so amazing. The house is very clean, nice furniture, even the kitchen cookwares are good qualities stuff. We love the design of the house, especially the bathroom. The house is full of details. We enjoyed outdoor activities. We went down the river fishing and walking on the trail. We even spotted some wild animals! After all, this is the best Airbnb experience we have so far!!
