Nimpkish Forest B and B: "The Sitka Room".

Paul and Carmen were superfriendly hosts and their home is so nice. Our kayak trip was cancelled shortly one day before due to bad weather. Paul helped us a lot and called everybody he knew to get us a place on one of the boats for whale watching. Thanks again! :) Totally recommend them!

Rustic 1 bedroom cottage with ocean views

I was looking for quiet and solitude on my trip and I got just that. House was rustic and cozy and my host had the wood fireplace going when I arrived which made it feel warm and welcoming.

We had a wonderful stay at Paul & Carmen B&B. Everything was very clean. The house and the room were lovely. Most of all, Paul&Carmen are perfect hosts, very kind and helpful :). We would definitely recommend their B&B.

Doe Island South

MimiRating, 5 stars32 months ago
We stayed on Doe Island for roughly 5 weeks, and had a wonderful time watching seals, porpoises, herons, stunning sunsets and beautiful starry nights. The cabin is definitely rustic, working off of water cisterns, a composting toilet, and solar/generator powered, but we were comfortable managing these. Steve was incredibly helpful and made sure we were comfortable, bringing over more water when needed and troubleshooting when we accidentally blew a fuse. The high speed internet made it possible for my daughter to work from there with a beautiful "office" view, seeing our resident seal visit every day! The provided kayaks made it easy to toodle around the harbour, and the crab pots - thrown right off the dock - provided some great meals. Steve helped out with our arrival and departure. It is also obvious that the host is in progress of upgrading areas of the island, so some spots look more in-progress than polished. Overall, the spot is absolutely gorgeous, the host is super helpful and hospitable, but it is definitely not a hotel -- you'll need to be aware of water and power consumption, and it is fairly isolated. Having your own boat to get around is recommended if you're there for an extended stay. (You can try checking with area marinas or other nearby places to park your car.) We'll definitely be going back!

Oceanside Room - Port Hardy with Pool & Hot TubNEW

My short overnight stay at Toms place was absolutely wonderful. Check-in was easy, with clear instructions. The house is clean (spotless), feels like home and very comfortable. The room is very comfortable, the space has everything someone would need. A small mini fridge in the room and coffee maker are 2 great touches in this shared accommodation. The bed was very comfortable. The shared spaces (bathroom, living room, kitchen) were all very well kept, clean, and not cluttered. The overall feeling was that of a guest invited to stay in a friends home. I did not get to use the hot tub just due to my short time at Toms place but it is a great touch. The area is great. A short walk to the waterfront where there are some restaurants, pub, shops. Aces in their places and I highly recommend this place if you are visiting the Port Hardy area.
