Stone Cottage in Grounds of a 16th-Century Castle

The cottage sits on the grounds of a castle dating back to 1543 offering an authentic stay. The interior retains a decor that matches the historic charm of the area with modern comforts added and a shared pool in the stunning gardens outside. This is our smallest cottage and cannot take an additional bed or cot. The other cottages are all larger and can do this. All 3 cottages can be rented separately or together. They are in the grounds of a 16th century castle with beautiful gardens and large swimming pool enclosed by stone walls. The lower salon and summer kitchen in the main chateau is available to share. Access is by the side garden gate and all cottages are accessed by stone steps- sadly not suitable for wheelchairs. We will most likely be present living in the main Chateau and available to help and advise about restaurants and things to do in the area. We will share the pool and gardens. The old village is in a beautiful part of France that is has retained its iconic beauty through the centuries and still feels untouched by modern life in many places. Experience true local dining and bakeries with scenic walking trails all around. parking is in the church square below the Chateau. There is a local taxi service in the village and bus service to Avignon, Banyols sur Ceze and Uzes but car hire is recommended. We are 20 minutes from Avignon TGV rail station and about an hour from Marseille, Nimes or Montpellier airports. The cottages are completely private and tranquil.

In a picturesque village of the Gard between Nîmes and Montpellier. 45 minutes from the beaches and 30 minutes from Anduze and the rivers. Close to Sommieres, Calvisson and their Provençal markets every weekend. Possibility of hiking by bike or on foot. 1 bedroom with 140 cm bed and a sofa bed in the living room with 140 cm bultex. 36 m2, private 9 m2 courtyard with BBQ (shared access with the owner who lives above). Very quiet place. Parking space 3 minutes away. Sheets, towels, dishes provided... Single story.

Refurbished in 2018 by a well-known architect, it comprises a private terrace (30 m2), a living-room, a fully equipped open kitchen and a bedroom. Located 1 km away from Uzès, an ancient medieval city, the cottage is set on an estate of 6 hectares. Within this wonderful and calm environment, you will also be given the opportunity to spend some relaxing moments around the outside swimming pool and its pool-house.
