Family-friendly vacation rentals in Montmorency County

I booked this beautiful home after my first reservation and host cancelled on me due to the storms. Well, I can say… we are so happy with our stay. It was exactly as described and even better than expected. April really is a one of a kind host, so good that I had to take notes for my own Air bnb adventure. She thought of everything! I’ve never had a better stocked kitchen. We always cook and make a big meal and we sure did not want for anything. We were even greeted with a local baked good and extra sheets and blankets for the dogs. These hosts were the best I’ve had in Michigan, if not the whole country. I’m thankful for people who truly consider someone’s stay and thinks of it all. Thank you again to the hosts. The Cabin was spotless and one of my favorite features was the deer lights.

Bailey was a great host. She was responsive and helpful when we had issues. The house was nice, clean, and spacious.

We loved staying here for a little weekend getaway! Dorene and John were so helpful and kind. The place was awesome so close to everything! Everything was so cozy and well put together, the hot tub with view is awesome!! We for sure will be back

Our stay at Dorene and John’s was perfect! We traveled the half hour to ski at Nub’s and enjoyed being in the private atmosphere of the cabin. The hot tub topped it all off! We didn’t want to leave!

This place is out of a dream. A perfect spot to unwind. Right on the lake. Has all the amenities. Nothing else I would change about this spot. This is my second visit and will definitely not be the last.

Had a great time with the kids at Edwards place. Definitely off the beaten path, 20 min drive to property driving on gravel and then dirt/sand after the gate, was a little tight between the vegetation on the path with my truck but no damage done(couple minor scratches). You'll get used to the solar power and learn to conserve, make sure to charge during the day. Amazingly beautiful property, crazy quite. We didn't see much wildlife during our stay, mostly a wide variety of birds. we rented the small boat and made it to the sandbar on Hubbard lake, if your not too familiar with boats I would rent a boat in the surrounding lakes before trying to make it by river to Hubbard lake. River is GREAT for kayak, canoe or paddle board plus you won't scare off the wildlife with the sound of the engine. Overall, we had a great time in this secluded setting and spending quality time with the kids without wifi/internet.

Great secluded stay on a lake! Home was basic, but clean and comfortable. We spent almost all our time outside on the giant lawn and, of course, the lake. It is a little out of the way to find, but instructions provided were clear. Cell coverage is spotty with Verizon. Fishing was good. The nearby town has a pretty substantial grocery store, outdoor shop, and pretty much everything we needed during our stay. Host was very helpful and responsive the whole time! We will likely look at renting again next year.

We recently had the pleasure of staying in this charming, rustic cabin that was the perfect blend of comfort and tranquility. Nestled in a serene, wooded setting, the cabin felt like a true retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The cabins interior was warm and inviting and the soft lighting and cozy furnishings made it an ideal place to relax, especially after a day spent outdoors. The stove was a highlight and many baked items were made. Helpful signage and detailed instructions made check in a breeze. Will recommend to friends / family.

We had an amazing long weekend for spring break at Heidi's place. Cute cabin filled with everything you need including generously provided coffee, oatmeal, and cereal. We were able to do a rafting trip on the Sturgeon river, enjoy great pizza from the local tavern, snow board at Boyne Highlands, and have an amazing meal at the Thirsty Sturgeon. Got some snow filled hikes in and march madness as well. Loved it, thank you for being an fantastic host.

I would say its one of the few places we have stayed where it was BETTER than what the pictures showed on the listing. We loved being able to bring our dog, the waterside 3 seasons room is amazing and the use of the boat lift is essential (Mullett Lake is wide open, so on windy days, without a lift, your boat would take a beating). Neighbors close by, but hardly were encountered and when they were, all were very nice. Nice level lot and beautiful views. Previous reviews noted broken lawn chairs and unusable grill, but all chairs have been replaced and newer Weber gas grill worked great. So much to do in and around Indian River, our family just had the best time and would recommend this listing to anyone wanted to experience the Michigan North Woods.

We had a great time during our stay. The location is great on the lake and the house had everything we needed to feel comfortable and at home.

I can not overstate how INCREDIBLE this property is. First, Jeff and Beth are excellent in communication. Both verbal and in the explicit information they left in the cabin as to local activities, how to use the heater and DVD/TV. Restaurant menus, etc. But the best part is that the view was breathtaking. The property is immaculately clean and the amenities were endless. We will be returning to this beautiful property again and again. Gosh, it really was SO much fun, so relaxing, comfortable and inviting. 5 stars isn't enough! You will not regret staying here!

My family of five had a great time on Burt Lake at Vanessa‘s place. It was well stocked with everything we might need for the entire stay, she provided a lot of great suggestions and resources for the area. She was great about communication when we had questions The only PSA I will provide it for families with young children. Just note and be prepared for the sheer number of taxidermy animals that are on this place. Well, beautiful, and they totally fit the aesthetic of the cottage, it can be a fearful challenge for younger children .

My wife and I were looking for a fall weekend getaway and this place worked beautifully. The home has a bit of an old school feel, which we really enjoy. The view from the HUGE picture window, overlooking the secluded lake surrounded by the stunning fall foliage was worth the price alone! There were two kayaks and a boat with electric motor, an outdoor firepit with a wagonload of free wood (you can't use the indoor wood burning stove though) and plenty of comfortable beds. Leslie was extremely responsive and friendly too as we chatted on the phone a couple of times during our stay. The place is well stocked with everything needed and is very neat, tidy, and clean. Two eating areas with our fav; a large table overlooking the water! On this October weekend, the lake was pretty much devoid of people (but included geese, ducks, and various birds). A couple of great homestyle restaurants within two minutes (one closes at 2pm!) were right up our alley and Gaylord is 12 minutes away! LOVED!!

This home is a very nice and peaceful place to stay. Convenient location close to social activities and quiet neighborhood for resting. Beds are comfortable, Bathrooms are clean and Kitchen has everything you need. Beautiful back yard to watch the deer…

Patricia was a wonderful host. Her home and Little Wolf Lake was more than perfect!! We enjoyed our week there soooo much. And what a great little town. She thought of everything inside and outside the home too. It is beautiful and quite frankly the nicest VRBO we've ever stayed in. A little slice of heaven very peaceful and relaxing there!! We floated in rafts on the water and paddle boated all over the lake. photographed a piliated woodpecker, blue heron, loons and captured a beautiful rainbow over the lake the last night... so stunning!! We will book again. Thanks for the wonderful vacation!!
