Lake house vacation rentals in Michigan

This was a fun & relaxing vacation for us, our kids and the grandkids. We really never left the place except to take the boat out. The kids and grandkids had a blast in the water and the shallow water was perfect for the young ones - they especially liked the water trampoline! The house is very spacious so we never felt crowded and my daughter was able to ‘work from home’ there utilizing the desk upstairs and the picnic table on the deck one day. The kitchen offered us everything we needed for food preparation so we didn’t have to go out to eat. We would recommend Karen’s place to others.

We had a great time. Very beautiful scenery on a peaceful lake. We enjoyed absolute relaxation and didn’t have much reason to leave.

We held our Annual EMU friend reunion here so we would have a place to hang out after touring, going to a game, and visiting our old stomping grounds. Chris is a gracious host with a beautiful lake home. Unfortunately, 3 members of our group had medical issues which interfered with their being able to stay, which affected our cost, but we all said it was still worth dividing their portions up and paying the extra. The home is well appointed and stocked with wonderful kitchen amenities. We cooked 3 meals and had a great time in that kitchen. The sleeping spaces were very comfortable and the entire house was nice and clean. Thank you for all you do to make this Airbnb a home away from home!

Our family had a wonderful stay. We had everything we needed. The house is spread out so everyone had their own space. My husband and I shared the master, my adult son and family had their own apartment basically ( in the tower), teenage boys had the “bunker”, and although my parents couldn’t make it, they would have had their own wing as well. Beautiful surroundings, private… we couldn’t have asked for more on our long weekend away bonding with family.

Our stay at Vivian's beautiful lake house was a long series of pleasant surprises. Where most airbnb's have the bare minimum of cooking supplies, her kitchen was fully stocked, with every appliance and spice you'd need for home cooking right at hand. The beds were comfortable, the sheets spotless, the bathrooms were pristine, and the whole house had a clean and welcoming feel that only comes from dedicated work. The lake equipment was extensive, and allowed us to make many treasured memories out on the water. And to top it all off, she left a platter of homemade chocolate chip cookies on the counter as a welcoming gift. We would happily stay here again, I can't emphasize enough how well kept this house is.

A wonderful lake house for my family. The house has everything you need. The kitchen was very well stocked for cooking and there's lots of fun stuff for playing on the lake. Very comfortable inside and out. We had a great time!

Ryan’s place was clean, easy to find, and a wonderful, relaxing place. The hosts were friendly and gave suggestions for restaurants. We had a wonderful weekend getaway!

We loved our stay at this house. Great location right on the lake, beautiful views and the snow made it even better. The house was as described, clean and very comfortable. We skied 2 days at Schuss and this is a convenient location for that. The dogs had plenty of room to roam the house and were comfortable as well! We would definitely stay here again!

Great place to stay. Nice friendly neighborhood and the house is very cozy. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay around Brooklyn.

Our third year in a row staying here and like always everything was perfect. Matthew is a great host, very responsive and always helpful. The property is perfect, always clean and clear instructions on check out. Has everything a family would need. This will always be our go to BNB when visiting Alpena. Super charming and quaint lake cottage. So quiet! No noisy road noise! Denise and her husband greeted us from next door at arrival and her husband even spent time with my son to fish! Cabin has more than you would expect from a typical Airbnb. From coffee, teas, and hot cocoas to coffee creamers and snacks in all kinds of varieties only added to the relaxation element during our stay! We enjoyed the fireplace, the board games, all the cabin/bear decor (soooo cute! even down to the dishes!), and the view. Everything was extremely clean. The leather sofa and recliner was a treat (don’t normally find such nice things in a rental), new washer and dryer, bathroom had everything you needed! While small in overall sqft, it accommodated us and our greyhound just fine! Can’t say enough about this place! Hope to come back sometime when the weather is warmer and use the lake! Thanks again guys!

Outstanding! Very clean. We clean up after ourselves so not getting slammed with a high house cleaning fee and other fees made this a great value for families. One of the best places we’ve ever rented and Becca was so nice to work with.

Rachel’s house was comfortable from the start. Everyone including the pets found the house to be fun. The children loved the ability to fish right from the pier and to get out on the water with the 3 waterboard choices. The fire pit was nicely located being right outside the back door instead of down by the water. We found the Harrison location to fun as well. We will be back to Rachel’s house and Harrison.

This was just what we were looking for. We wanted a landing place to sleep and shower and eat between out adventures and this was the perfect place. It was quiet and relaxing. We even got to see the three legged fox.

We had a great stay at Whitmore Lake! The house was very cozy, and the bed extremely comfortable. It was amazing to have a campfire by the river and enjoy the fall weather.

This place was what me and my friends were looking for. Peaceful and private. We loved the surrounding and the views. Looks just like the pictures. Host was available if we had any question.

There were 4 adults staying for Labor Day weekend. We had more than enough room for all. We have vacationed together for years. We all agreed this was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. So well put together and everything you could ever need. The yard was beautiful, the deck had beautiful views of the lake. The furniture was very comfy and there was nothing more we could have wanted.

We really enjoyed our stay here! Great privacy, cozy house and we loved the amenities of the fire pit and paddle boat. It was perfect for bringing our little one too, with a crib and toys available! We should have brought binoculars for all the cool birds and ducks we saw. There were even swans on the lake! I wish we could have stayed longer. The nearby town of Holly looks like it came straight out of a hallmark movie! It was so cute and had really amazing antique stores as well as some really great little restaurants we were able to try. I would move to this area in a second if I could!

We loved staying at this house! It was gorgeous for a little fall getaway, and even warm enough that we were able to take kayaks onto the lake! Check in was super easy, and the house had everything we needed. Kate was very helpful for any questions we had and gave us some great recommendations. Such a cute place in a great location for lots of the local tourism as well!

The cabin was right on a lake with kayaks, paddle boards, and a canoe. The fire pit was located lakeside as well. It was beautiful and peaceful at all hours of the day. Our kids loved it! The house is clean and fully stocked. Perfect space for our family of six. Connections are spotty in the area which allowed us to more readily unplug from the world. Host was communicative and responsive to our questions and gave clear instructions for arrival and departure. Very happy with our decision to stay at this location! Highly recommend.

LOVE LOVE LOVED Nancy’s place! Everything was exactly as described/pictured. Everything was very clean, it was nice having so many bathrooms, and the use of a washer & dryer came in handy! Outside is amazing!!! Loved the deck, the beach (and view), and use of kayaks!! Nancy responded very quickly when we got ourselves locked out 😂 (our own fault). Would definitely stay here again!

We had a great week of snowmobiling out of Nikki’s Lodge on the lake in the woods. Our group of 16 guys had plenty of room to hangout comfortably, plenty of kitchen and eating space, and a great time all being together rather than renting 8 hotel rooms for the week. What a cost savings for us and was way better being together all the time. We snowmobiled out of the cabin to the groomed trails a couple of days, and trailered to Republic and Champion the other days. We had some phenomenal riding. We brought ice fishing gear for the private lake but not enough time on this trip, maybe next time we’ll fish either in summer or winter. The deer walking up to the back deck and eating out of our hands was an awesome experience as well. I would highly recommend Nikki’s place for a big group of family or friends. We will definitely be back again!

Great stay! The outside patio was a great place to look out over the lake during the day, or see the stars. Very relaxing!
