Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in Mendip District

Really enjoyed our stay. Petra and Dick were v friendly and welcoming. Main bedroom was lovely. 2nd bedroom was tiny but single bed was v comfortable. V quiet road. This is definitely a lived in family home with lots of books, plants and ornaments. If you prefer a more like hotel experience, then look elsewhere, but we enjoyed our two night stay. Breakfast was simple (cereals, yogurt, toast, fruit etc with coffee, wide range of teas) but delicious. Was lovely to chat with our hosts about our plans each morning . Parking in central Bath is a nightmare so was lovely to leave our car parked in the street and use the bus (bus stop just across the road) to visit the town centre.

My partner and I stayed at Olivia's to attend a PhotoFrome event. Her home is beautiful, welcoming and peaceful and in a perfect location in central Frome. Our room overlooking the private garden was lovely and comfortable. Olivia was a very obliging host and it was very easy to make arrangements with her before we arrived. She made us feel very welcome and at ease. Her dog Teddy is a sweetie and very happy around people. Thank you Olivia! We would definitely recommend Olivia's home and book her place again!

Jessica and Paul are marvelous! Quite friendly and attentive. We had good conversations and the always had left prepared our breakfast before we got down to it. The location and the city’s scape view from the bedroom is breathtaking. We strictly recommend them.

We had the pleasure of staying at The Cowsheds in Chippenham as a family of 12, plus a dog, spanning multiple generations—including my elderly mother. From the time we arrived, we felt completely at home in this wonderfully spacious clean accommodation that catered perfectly to all our needs. Georgina, our host, was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly responsive throughout our stay. Her attention to detail made all the difference, from the fresh milk straight from the farm waiting in the fridge to the bottle of champagne. And her homemade chocolate brownies were to die for! Every aspect of The Cowsheds was beautifully considered, creating a warm and comfortable retreat for our entire family. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay, and we are truly grateful to Georgina for sharing her lovely accommodation with us.

I had the most amazing stay at the Corner House. Marina and Martyn were so incredibly kind, helpful and attentive. They have put so much thought into every aspect to ensure their guests have an amazing stay. The Green Room is beautiful, peaceful, has the most comfortable bed and stunning views of the garden. The garden is stunning and peaceful. Cake and tea available on arrival was a wonderful touch. I was blown away by how fantastic the breakfast was. The best produce, so much choice, a real feast and Marina is a fantastic cook. I will miss it! If you are thinking of staying, don't hesitate, just book. You will not be disappointed. Thank you both so much. Just wonderful.

Clean place and a friendly welcome, even the farm dog came up to us wagging its tail. A tasty English breakfast crowned the whole thing. Highly recommended as a base to explore the area. Should be reserved at the local inn

The Bothy is an incredible find in the Wiltshire countryside. The room was lovely, the host put the heating on before we arrived and left tea and coffee plus fruit for the next morning. The view is incredible and we rested really well. Tranquility and a lovely home! The breakfasts were amazing and the communication with the host perfect. We will visit again! I stayed a whole week in Judith's beautiful home and felt so comfortable. Judith is a very friendly and welcoming host, and I felt completely relaxed (which I haven't always when staying in a host's house with them). I was busy every day and Judith's place was a calm retreat in the evening. The double bedroom was immaculately clean and very comfortable, and all the amenities were spotless. The house is in a quiet estate on the edge of town rather than central Glastonbury so there's a 10-15 minute walk in and out - for me this was ideal as it meant I could step out of the intensity and busyness of town, but I was grateful for my car a couple of times, as I had to dash back and forth quite a bit, carrying lots of things with me! Importantly, Judith's place is only a short walk to some of the most beautiful parts of the area - the Chalice Well Gardens, White Spring and the Tor. Had some great chats with Judith and loved gorgeous Milo the dog. Highly recommend for a quiet break!

A characterful lady who offered an instant and warm welcome to her charming and characterful house which is brimming with fascinating paintings and photographs collected during her career, a significant part of which was spent in India. A most considerate, eloquent and generous hostess, Rosie is also an accomplished cook who is very happy to provide a delicious evening meal if required. She is knowledgeable about many things, not least the village in which she has chosen to live and her guided tour of Semley is to be recommended. The church and exceptional village shop are well worth a visit. A day or two spent in this very comfortable accommodation provides a much needed reward from the daily round and guests will not be disappointed. Au contraire, the house and village are unexpected gems.

Honestly can say this was the best experience of an Airbnb myself and partner had. A very warm welcome, treated like a part of the family. The room was very spacious and a lovely bathroom. Comfortable bed and the added teas, coffees, biscuits were a great touch. The breakfast was out of this world. Everything you could of asked for. What a lovely experience, thank you Sarah and Mark. We will visit again.

Me, My partner and 3 children stayed here for one night before heading to longleat safari park. The place was in immaculate condition with plenty of trinkets / games to keep the kids entertained. Geraldine and John were amazing hosts. I only stayed one night but if I could I’d stay another week. Their suite is the coziest place I have ever been. Loved the back story of their home and they have made it into the most charming place to stay. As someone who leads a very busy home life, it was great to just check out of life for the day and enjoy the quiet and idyllic setting. Not to mention the bed was so very comfortable and I had the best nights sleep I’ve had in a very long time. I cannot wait to come back some time and explore the area more or just take lots of naps and relax. Thank you so much John and Geraldine!

Sometimes travelling you stumble across the right person in the right home with the right attitude with a wonderful nature. I thought the first time I visited I had found that Air BnB and now my feelings are truly confirmed. Every box is ticked for me in order to recover from the busy day. I will be staying every couple of months from now on and I would highly recommend Ali as your host if you are visiting wonderful Dorset or neighbouring counties for either pleasure or business. And what pleasure grounds you have within a short drive: Stourhead landscape gardens, Shaftesbury, Dorset villages, Georgian towns, ancient villages...what is not to enjoy. Oh and the Jurassic coast. I will shut up now but honestly you cannot go wrong if you book a stay with Ali. Thank you.

I have stayed at Lyn's place on a good number of occasions now, and they are creating a very special environment, where their guests are treated more as family. The rooms are comfortable and warm. It is a shared bathroom but they make the effort to stagger it's use through communication between the guests. Breakfast is great, and the welcome is very friendly.

I stayed with Avril for one night and she is a very good host. The place was spotless, and in my room, which had a lockable door, I had tea and coffee making facilities, plus use of the main kitchen, for which she had bought me bread to toast for breakfast, as well as some chocolate filled buns. It's now my go to place to stay whenever I visit the area.

Ian and Wilma were the perfect hosts, the house was spotless and quite beautiful. We have no complaints whatsoever, thank you both, oh and the Lobster Pot in Portland was spot on.

This was a gem of a find. A small but perfectly formed place with everything a couple needs for a very comfortable stay. it's a lovely perk to be able to open the back door and enjoy the patio space over the peaceful greenery. Matt and Kelly were also very happy to let our dog come along! They were very accommodating of our requests, responsive and kind. in other words- super hosts!

Dee is an exceptional hostess- I felt completely at home and at ease in her lovely home. Dee is very knowledgeable about the area and went above and beyond to assist me. The breakfast was astonishing with fresh orange juice, fruit, bread and granola, Dees own homemade jam and lots of tea There aren’t words to communicate the warmth and nurturing Dee provides - highly recommend you go and meet her and the adorable Tilly (best mannered softest golden lab ever) ❤️

I loved staying at Fleur's place. Interesting building with a lot of character. I felt very much at home in this charming setting. Fleur and William are great hosts. Excellent breakfasts, try the courgette and ginger marmalade!. I would definitely book again if an occasion arose

Stephen and Caz are warm and friendly hosts. Their home is welcoming and comfortable and a lovely place to stay. The room is private, quiet and spacious with a big and very comfy bed, and there’s a bright and clean private bathroom just next to the bedroom. A generous help-yourself breakfast, good conversation, and easily walkable to some lovely part of Bristol - the Downs, Clifton, the Gorge and Whiteladies Road. I had a very good time staying here and will stay again next time I am visiting Bristol.
