Bandera Riverside Lodge

5 miles from Bandera, on a hill with direct river access, our vintage lodge has two unique buildings built in the early 30’s. The rock main house has kitchen, LR, 1 king bedroom and sunporch with 4 twins; the frame annex has 2 bedrooms, 1 with king and 1 with queen, and a huge “celebration room” for group events. Our area of the river never stopped flowing during brutal recent summers, unlike other parts closer to Bandera. In 2024 we swam through part of July before the water dropped

FAMILY RIVER RETREAT! PRIVATE MEDINA RIVER ACCESS!

Oh my goodness! This is one of our favorite stays ever! My husband and I love to go somewhere quiet where we can just enjoy our time with the littles and each other. Well this hit the nail on the head for everything we wanted. The location and the river were incredible. The water was sooo pretty and was not too deep where the house is. However, there are many deeper, cool swimming holes on the trails that we enjoyed too. The house is a quaint little cabin that is perfect for where it is. Our little kids had so much fun in every aspect. We floated, hiked, snorkeled, fish, and swam swam swam! It’s near a little town but don’t expect a lot of people or anything. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place this is the spot. Alan was amazing and communicated everything we needed to know. We will definitely be booking again in the future.

DH RIVER LODGE! Gather your herd here!

We rented Alan‘s place for a family getaway. We were a crew of eight, two middle aged adults and six college age kids. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out when they wanted privacy, and amazing common areas for us to get together when we wanted. The decor of the house and the outdoor layout allows you to experience nature and the best of family bonding. Amazingly within walkable access just down from a gravel road on the property there is a deep swimming hole, rope swing, and a little waterfall that still has lots of water even though the Medina river has gone through hard times lately. So one can still get to spend time in the river. The town is pretty adorable too. We went to the Bandera Riding on Faith rodeo Friday night and really got to experience a bit of cowboy culture. There are lots of places to shop eat drink in the downtown area and everyone is really friendly. Lastly, Alan was great at communication and was always in touch if we needed.

Daniel was amazing answering all my questions for our super last minute getaway. The property was private and and we loved waking up to the Hill Country sunrise and view from the bed! The kids loved exploring and watching the cows and sheep. We did not use the pool, but it was very clean and the setup was perfect!
