Places to stay in Maupin

Took a short overnight trip to Hood River with my young daughters and had a great stay at Brooke’s place. Brooke was especially friendly and helpful in helping me track down some fun family activities for myself and the littles. We felt very welcome and at home and would definitely stay here again next time!

Great space, very comfortable, squeaky clean, quiet. Would definitely stay again when returning to Hood River.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at JR’s cozy place. It was especially peaceful up among the surrounding trees. I arrived after dark and found her thorough directions helpful for an easy entry. The place feels cozy with the gas stove going, and there were many thoughtful touches, including quality sheets, towels and other amenities. The 2 recliners and sofa were especially comfy with lovely throw blankets!! The space seemed so fresh and new and very thoughtfully designed. Would definitely stay again, perfect location as my daughter lives 5 min away and access to the town is easy as well!

A beautiful older house with modern conveniences and quality. James was a great host and we had a wonderful weekend relaxing and taking in all that Hood River has to offer!

The perfect accommodations for our week preparing for and celebrating our son's wedding in Hood River. Great location with a short drive to town for our activities. Martin was very attentive and communitive throughout our stay. We had everything we needed and more. Thank you for opening your home to us♡

We loved it!! Easy for 2 families to enjoy, loved having toys there for my 3 kids and the beauty of the place was amazing! The host was easy to connect with. Some light maintenance needed to be done but it didn’t affect our stay at all! We loved the house!

Govy perfection. Need I say more? Steps away from all the best restaurants. Close to winter/summer activities at Ski Bowl. And a perfect launch pad to Timberline, Meadows, and endless other places within the Mt. Hood Forest. We were lucky enough to stay during an epic winter storm that dropped nearly 3 feet of snow in 3 days. What a magical experience we had. The host was very accommodating and responsive. Just the cherry on top of an already wonderful stay. Already planning our next stay at this cabin. Thank you so much Amanda!

In spring each year I take a solo silent retreat & this cottage was perfect for unplugging, getting away from city noise, syncing with the sun, & giving my nervous system the chance to fully relax. There's Wi-Fi if you open the bedroom window & place your phone on the sill. However, it's a wonderful opportunity for a pile of books, art projects, meditation, &--best of all--watching the weather form over the Columbia River, the trees in the wind, the animals (deer, elk, turkey, eagles), & the sunrise. I didn't leave the property at all during my week stay. Bring hiking socks/boots to walk through the wooded areas for the burrs that hitch a ride. As an extremely light sleeper, I slept peacefully without earplugs by closing the bedroom door & letting the shower sprayer hang down gently to keep it from dripping. Train & traffic sounds are faint enough to not be intrusive & I never once heard a train horn. Fantastic hike/view 15 min away at Tom McCall/Rowena area. Highly recommend!
