Wow!! What a fantastic adventure it was. Our 3 kids were in tears leaving (12, 11 and 9). The friendships made with the other kids will have a lifetime impact on my kids. Special mention to 12 year old Mo, who we wish we could bring home with us!! What a treasure he and the other kids in the village are. Our kids even spent a day at the school. Pa is nothing other than a true gentleman, who is a true master of his domain on this island and the life he leads there. Think of it has having a 24hr personal guide. You will never get that in a resort! The location of the island is nothing other than spectacular. The house is beautiful. It’s set back from the beach and it’s a small trek, but it’s in a beautiful little lush space surrounded with Pa’s family. To get the most out of this adventure, you need to immerse yourself into the family and the island life. Don’t sit back like you’re in a resort. We will definitely be going back.

Vinaka, Willy for a wonderful stay! We had a great time! The location was excellent, such a beautiful part of the world. Welcome to campers paradise! This stay isn’t for everyone; you will be living in an ‘off grid’ bure, situated on the top of a cliff looking down on the local village. It’s set up on solar battery power with sufficient lights in the house and on the deck - bring a torch for the outdoors. Fresh rainwater a plenty, and a stove to boil your own drinking water if needed. Cold bucket showers to wash off the hot day and afternoons embracing the local way of life. Remember to bring plenty of the essentials you may need (mozzie spray, environmentally friendly soap, rain jacket for the boat ride etc) as this is as remote as it gets! Willy was a great host; very easy to communicate with prior to and very attentive throughout our stay. Willy ran some excellent activities like snorkelling near a sunken volcano and fishing for our dinner. Hope to be back soon, Meg and Justin

This place is absolutely fantastic! I highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Taveuni. Jay is an incredible host who went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. The property has a beautiful yard filled with fruit trees and a lovely garden. Plus, it’s right across the street from the ocean, offering excellent snorkeling opportunities. Jay recommended renting a car from Ajay, which allowed us to explore the island, and Ajay was great to work with. When we asked about visiting the small island in front of the house, Jay immediately found a friend to take us out by boat. While kayaking is an option, a sore shoulder made the boat a better choice for us—plus, we were lucky enough to see dolphins on the way! The snorkeling there was absolutely incredibl The Airbnb itself felt like home—super clean and equipped with everything we needed. There are great little markets on either side, and right next door, you’ll find delicious smoothies and ice cream. We can’t wait to return.

We had lovely time over the Christmas holiday. The view was amazing and it was super quiet. We kayaked out to one of the islands and the snorkeling there was pretty amazing. Helene organized a ride from the airport, which was very close and could've been easily walked to/from. The villa seemed to be recently renovated, had everything we needed and I think when the pool is finished being built it will add a nice touch. It was unfortunate that the solar power was out on the main house which affected the Wi-Fi, but otherwise it's Fiji! Renting a car in my opinion is recommended as it was a bit of a walk to the cafe with the good coffee, but there are plenty of resorts nearby to eat at. Shout out to Ajay who picked us up from the airport and gave us a tour to the waterfalls at Bouma and to Civa pearl farm tour. He also let us rent his car for a few days so we could get around. Overall a great trip to Taveuni island

An absolutely amazing experience staying at Sere Ni Ika. The location is perfect and the house itself has everything you need. The housekeeper, Loata, and her family were beautiful hosts and looked after our every need during our stay (including cleaning the house, changing the beds, doing our laundry). Loata cooked some lovely Fijian meals for us and helped to organise unique experiences for us (like cooking a traditional lovo!). Would definitely recommend staying at Sere Ni ika - we will be returning for sure!

Jima's place exceeded our expectations on so many levels. While this homestay is nestled in a remote Fijian village setting powered by solar and generator, the family does a remarkable job of accommodating their guests. The home is rustic, but we were very comfortable. We are divers, and Sia and her family helped us with our laundry and gear, never seeming to mind all of our things drying on the porch. They also coordinated our transportation allowing for stops in town to shop anytime we needed anything. We felt like part of the family and part of the village. Sia's cooking is out of this world! Hands down better than any of the meals we had during our resort stay. Sublime green papaya curry!!! Walking down to the water each morning for the sunrise after hearing the drumbeats calling the village to prayer is an unforgettable experience, unlike any I have ever had. I'm so grateful for our time at Jima's. We learned so much and made connections that will last our lifetimes. Amazing!

Coconut Grove was an amazing resort to stay at. The incredibly friendly (and multi-talented) staff together with having just a few rooms to take care of gives a really boutique feel to the whole experience. The staff are so helpful and will help you plan your stay, booking tours and making reservations at restaurants for you as well as cooking meals and prepping packed lunches whenever you need them. Ronna helped us to book some scuba diving with a local dive shop (Taveuni Ocean Sports) which was an unforgettable experience, with some truly amazing corals near the island. The snorkelling around the honeymoon island is amazing, with so many fish and different types of coral to see. If you’re going to do this, would recommend going early to make sure you get some privacy as later on others staying nearby might also go there.
