Vacation rentals with beach access in Matala beach

Giorgio’s place was beautiful and well maintained. He was always very responsive (Ben when we locked ourselves out) and gave us recommendations for the local super market and an AMAZING place for dinner. The home was very comfortable with a beautiful sea view and had everything we needed.

Outstanding location, many place to eat and shop. It’s steps away from the beach and the roof top patio is spacious and beautiful. Lots of public transit but we chose to rent a car to enjoy the whole island. Would highly recommend this apartment. Host was very helpful.

We had the pleasure of staying in Rena's apartment from 5/26 to 6/2/25 and it was a fantastic experience! The apartment was as described but the view from the terrace also exceeded expectations! Unfortunately, we were unable to meet Rena in person, but she was always available for all our requests. She had warned us in advance that the village market would still be closed, so we could stock up on groceries before arriving, but she still made sure we had everything we needed in the house (thank you again!). In the house, there are all kinds of useful accessories for the kitchen, but also some thoughtful touches that I have never found on other occasions! The road to this small village is quite winding, but we felt so good there that we only moved once. There are 2/3 beaches (where we were often alone) reachable by a nice walk in the middle of nowhere breathing the scent of oregano! We hope to be back!

What a wonderful apartment! The location was perfect for a weekend beach getaway. Everything was very clean and in great condition. Very special thanks to Maria for the cheese pies she dropped off to us for breakfast one morning, they were delicious! Overall it was fantastic place and we'll definitely consider returning in the future. Thanks again for everything!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. Giannis was an excellent host. He welcomed us with a warm pastry, fresh fruits, wine and bottled water. The apartment had everything we needed. The location was perfect. We had a car and having our own parking space was fantastic. We traveled to different areas of the island and it was a convenient home base. Giannis gave us several recommendations from restaurants to beautiful beaches, and they were all great. We especially enjoyed the terrace. It has a beautiful view of the sea and it is very peaceful. We watched the sunrise a few mornings and it was breathtaking. A highlight of the stay was Hamlet, Giannis dog! He was there to welcome us and visited us daily. We would not hesitate to stay there again. It is a beautiful place and you won’t be disappointed.

We stayed for two nights in Agia Galíni with Panagiotis, and the experience was really relaxing. The accommodation is very beautiful, perfectly matches the photos, even with a terrace larger than we expected! Upon arrival, we had the pleasure of meeting our host, who welcomed us warmly and gave us excellent recommendations for our excursions during the stay. He was available, attentive and very good advice until we left. We highly recommend this place, which offers great value, in the heart of a charming village with many restaurants and bars. We'll be happy to come back!

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful, relaxing time in Kalamaki. The place was perfect for us. We enjoyed the sea view every day with sunsets and the tranquility. The short distance to the beach, restaurants or supermarket was also brilliant. Communication was perfect from start to finish. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday in a quiet but ingenious location, this is the place to be. We can definitely recommend the hosts.

We had a pleasant stay at Maria & Vaggelis' apartment. The standout feature is the large terrace with a great view, where we could watch the sunset over the sea. Communication with the hosts was clear and the apartment matched the description. It's a good option if you're looking for a quiet village stay, while still being close to several beaches.

Absoutely Amazing Experience! The villa is amazing! Beautiful space which immediately makes you feel like home. Everything about our stay there was beyond our imagination. We had a wonderful and relaxing vacation in Dimitri's apartment. The apartment is fantastically beautiful and tastefully decorated, with high-quality furniture and nothing is really missing. The terrace has a unique beautiful view of the sea and we spent many beautiful hours there. Dimitris is super friendly, always available and with helpful tips for excursions, restaurants, etc. he helped us a lot. He also arranged the transfer from the airport for us and it worked out just fine. The location of the apartment is also perfect. Supermarket and restaurants are within walking distance and the bus station is just across the street. We highly recommend the apartment, for us the most beautiful so far and we will be happy to think back to the time and come back soon.

The house was modern and comfortable. The pool was amazing - such a relaxing spot to unwind. We were surrounded by beautiful olive trees and stunning views, which made the atmosphere feel peaceful and special. And one of our favorite parts was the grill area. We loved spending evenings cooking and dining outdoors.

The location is special, we celebrated it. Beautifully located. Totally quiet and a little off the beaten path. We were feeling absolutely safe. The local restaurants were just open at the beginning of May - it's village-like. Car is necessary. The prices fair, the people friendly. Visiting free-living cats. A cat has born her kittens near the accommodation and feels part of the house. The first micromarket is 5 minutes away, in Gazi (10 min) there are larger shopping opportunities. The bathroom is small and like everything about the house lovingly designed. From the height of 180 cm, the use of the toilet requires some flexibility because of the legroom. The house is a dream if you want to relax and come down.

This place is amazing! Cleopatra received us in person, with gifts for us. She introduced us to the accommodation with passion, took us to the charming little square of the village, explained the various activities and surrounding spots. the view from THE terraces is breathtaking (bird 's-eye view of the sea from the heights). the house is perfectly equipped, there is more bathroom than bedrooms. The geographical location is ideal for visiting the entire south center area of the island, which we seek calm and authenticity. for typical and cheap dishes, appointment at the Platia taverna on the small charming square of the village. Too bad we can only give 5 stars maximum! We'll come back, I promise.

If you wish to experience a secluded garden by a non-travelled beach, almost like your own access to the sea, that is the place. A very good taverna is few meters away. Nothing best to let stress, driving, movida and consumerism behind one's shoulders for some days. Dimitri and his family have created a heaven of peace and a beautiful garden. The holiday-house from their parents is still decorated like in the 80s, but all the essentials are there. The generous welcoming, with a large basket of fruit, olive oil and salad from the herb garden, complete the feeling of coming home. Efkaristò! Many thanks! Rossella

We LOVED our stay at Butterfly, and felt sad when we left! We came to Crete for a week for a birthday celebration, and wanted to be a little out of the tourist areas. Our check in was seamless, and Theo from Muses travel was always contactable to help us out with anything. The WiFi wasn’t working properly when we got there, and everyone went out of their way to get it fixed for us. The village of Armeni was beautiful and had an excellent mini market (shoutout to Niko), and a couple of great restaurants. Rethymno is a beautiful city which is just 10 minutes away. There were four of us so it was reasonably priced to hire a driver for our day trips, so we saw Knossos and Heraklion, and then also took a day trip to Spili, Agia Galini and Matala. If we ever get back to Crete would LOVE to return to Butterfly.🦋

Tasos is an extremely welcoming host. When we arrived late, we found a generously stocked fridge and freezer. Fruits, jams, rusks and cold and hot drinks were waiting for us. And Tasos was absolutely adorable to make our stay easier. We really appreciate it. Her apartment is very nice , the jacuzzi and the beautiful view make it a rare find. We highly recommend this rental, even more appreciated thanks to the many details Tasos has thought of.

I‘m more that happy that we decided to stay at Dimitri‘s place. He ish very kind and helped us right away, if we had any questions. The location is peaceful and has a great view. The beach is not far away and the size of the apartment is just perfekt for a single person or a couple. I will definitely visit again.

Just outside of the (now too busy) town. Still walking distance to town. Excellent views of both sea and highest mountain Spiliotis. I Friendly host. Can recommend. 👌

Anna was very welcoming and sweet. Every day, a small gift awaited us outside the door. Very quiet place with a lovely view of the bay.

Marianna’s place was great - we had a very pleasant time there. The view over the Mediterranean Sea is stunning, and the location is easy to access. Her mum, Sonia, kindly made us a local pie upon arrival, and she was so friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. There are several excellent restaurants nearby, and it’s only about 20 minutes to the Heraklion city centre. Highly recommended!

We stayed one night at Alexis’ apartment before we head to Chania, it’s a cosy and quiet place, close to everything, Alexis is very supportive and responsive, giving some good suggestions for local restaurants, we tried two, both are great, thanks for the local advices, giving us some unforgettable experience here.

A spacious apartment, very nicely decorated, bright, with beautiful views, very well located, the sound of the sea lulled us at night. The beautiful terrace for breakfast or dinner. We had a parking space right next to the apartment, super practical. Konstantinos responded to us very quickly, very friendly A perfect week
