“We have stayed in Airbnb’s all over the world, and Khalid and his riad in Marrakech is the BEST experience we have ever had with Airbnb. He is a gem and a true super host. First, about Khalid: warm, gracious, and very responsive and helpful at every step of the process. He arranged a driver to meet us at the airport and that was included in the price. He is a kind, knowledgeable and helpful host who was exceptionally communicative. He prepared a delicious Moroccan breakfast for us every day, answered our questions , practices Arabic with us, arranged sightseeing trips for us outside the City and met us personally at arrival and checkout. Your own personal 5-star concierge—seriously. We mean it—the best (and we have had some truly great Airbnb spaces and hosts over the years). Next, Khalid’s place: immaculate, charming, comfortable with three full floors, including the sunny and private roof deck. Even in chilly January we were able to enjoy the sunshine. The unit is very quiet and peaceful, even though the hustle and bustle is steps away. The beds and pillows are quite firm but the comforters very soft and cozy. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the bathrooms were all spotless. City water pressure is not the greatest but we had nice hot water. The riad is not heated but does have a wood burning fireplace and space heater for bedroom. When our space heater broke, Khalid replaced it with a new one the same day. The riad option is so much nicer than a hotel. The location: again superb. Down a quiet alley way, it is near a Royal Palace in the Dar El Bacha neighborhood. This neighborhood has more local shops than tourist shops so it’s a bit more authentic. It’s a good 15-20 minute walk to Jemma al Afna square, but every route to get to the square is interesting, colorful, and bustling almost from the moment you leave Khalid’s alley. Taxi’s are easy to find. Getting to the main square during the day was easy, but getting home after dinner at the night market (a must!) was sometimes a challenge as with the shops close you lose your landmarks, and google maps is not very accurate in the Médina, so prepared to get lost. From Khalid’s, it’s an easy taxi to Yves-Saint-Laurent Museum and gardens—a must. We loved El Badi palace and Palais Bahia—Saadi tombs was ok but that’s one to skip if you are pressed for time. There is so much to see and do. Khalid arranged a day trip for us to Ouzoud Waterfalls and we had a great driver and Berber guide once we were there. Marrakech is generally safe everywhere we went—just don’t let someone try to guide you home. Ask a shop owner and don’t meet the street touts hustle you. We had a wonderful visit thanks to Khalid’s attentiveness and the charming riad. Book now. We will be back!”
K'bour & Chou is our Riad in Marrakech, with an interior garden and courtyard just within the walls of the medina. Discover a unique luxurious oasis of peace and serenity, offering a perfect blend of authentic Morocco and an eclectic mixture of styles and characters.
“Egon and his team know how to receive guests, spoil them and make them feel at home in the distance - this is always unobtrusive and personable. The riad is architecturally and interior-style very inviting, the lush greenery a dream and birdsong trigger. If you still have too little fauna with the birds, you will be happy at the latest when you see the free-roaming turtles, cats and dogs. On the sunny roof terrace you would like to forget everything - if it weren't for the delicious breakfast, which you can enjoy with a view. The crew would also be happy to organize trips to the Atlas etc. You could also dine on site - but we didn't do that. The door to the riad is a bit hidden when you first search, but the team would also pick you up and guide you at an agreed location nearby. We will be back!”
Let this be your Unique experience in Marrakech!
“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Reb's Riad. The location is pretty ideal off a side alley about 100 meters off of the hustle of the medina and 300 meters from the main square. The apartment within the riad was quite beautiful with tile inlays other fine work but the highlight was the roof terrace where we were able to drink a bit of mint tea and relax between trips to the chaos of the medina. Definitely an AirBnB gem and highly recommended.”
