This has set the bar by which all other stays I do will be judged. The level of communication and help is what I would expect from a 5 star hotel, including helping with arranging transportation (and providing it when no taxis were available). This was a fantastic location and I couldn't have been happier with my stay.

Our 3-night stay at Sandra and Bernard's Ti Amara Lodge was very pleasant, their welcome at the airport and all the information given during the journey and then during our stay was very helpful to discover Nuku Hiva. Le Fare is very nice with a great view and the possibility to rent a car on site is a plus. The house is beautiful. Fully equipped and spacious. It is very comfortable to live in and a beautiful terrace with a large table will allow a wonderful view of the ocean. Air conditioning was only in one bedroom, there was a fan in the other room. The location of the house is up a pretty steep hill, which could be an issue for people with poor mobility. Marylin was always at hand and her son or husband has always helped us with our bags. The place is in the center of the village, close to the store and all the local action. There is a semi-automatic washing machine, which comes in handy. The owner only communicates in French, but google translate helped. They will help you arrange airport trasfer and recommend car rental or excursion contacts. Beware of turning on the appliances (washer, air conditioning, and toaster), we were able to throw the main breaker, but everything was fixed in a while. The stay here was lovely and I highly recommend it.

Kaoha roa, The accommodation is exactly as described with a small surprise the A/C in the master bedroom (which can be very appreciated) . The welcome fruit platter is also a very pleasant gesture. The location is also the highlight , a convenience store 100m away is a pizzeria 150m away. Then the small port with the market , the craft center and the tourist office are maybe 500m away which is great time to organize for the stay . A vending machine on the route if you need to remove money. The view of the bay for breakfast or a small drink in the evening is great (in moderation). At noon probably too but we did not try, we enjoyed the island. I would this property.
