We stayed the month of September with Jessica's home the perfect base for visiting the Dordogne. It was fully equipped, the beds were comfortable, the water was delightfully hot, and the internet was fast. In short, cozy and peaceful. We cooked several meals in the kitchen (lovely herb garden on the back terrace). The town parking was an easy few minutes walk away. Belves itself is a jewel. Much to see and the people were friendly and forgiving of our French. Its central location in the region eased our trips heading north to towns and prehistoric sites along the Vezere River, east towards the castles and towns along the Dordogne River (Beynac, Castelnaud, Domme, Sarlat and the Gardens at Eyrignac (all must dos), west to Bergerac and its wineries, and south to Monpazier, Monflanquin, and the chateaux at Biron and Bonaguil). Some days we just stayed in Belves. I recommend breakfast and also a late afternoon glass of Monbazillac wine on the back terrace. Enjoy!

Listing as described, I would recommend. Having a physical welcome is also (for me) much appreciated. Very nice accommodation for those who love the old, qualitative, with absolutely everything to serve, inside, or nearby (shops). Ideal for 1 couple, with 1 or 2 children. I'll come back when I have a chance. Improvement point: The comfort of the 2nd bedroom sofa bed is a bit just for an adult(s)

My son and I decided to “escape” the usual trappings of Christmas and the New Year in the UK this year, and found Carine’s beautiful family home in Monflanquin. Just the tonic that we needed. Overlooking the main square, with its Christmas tree and lights, the only noise during our two week break was the evening of carol singing and the evening of classic cars. There’s a strong feeling of traditional community here, which was lovely to witness. Carine had met with me on arrival to ‘show and tell’ everything in the home, and also left us with numerous brochures and suggestions. We were able to use the home as a base to explore Lot-et-Garonne, Dordogne and slightly further afield, returning each evening to relax. In the home we appreciated the space, never thinking that we were on top of one another. Several more people would comfortably fit here. I also made full use of the ample kitchen and terrace cooking facilities, which should delight any amateur chef. Highly recommend.

Our first Airbnb & boy did we choose a good one. Pezenas is beautiful, full of medieval character. Bustling with small unique shops, bars & restaurants. We found the locals to be very friendly. Louise is the perfect host with impeccable taste. Patty, a bundle of enthusiasm & a mine of information. Totally recommend this property as long as you can climb stairs. The pretty roof terrace is wonderful but two floors up a winding stone staircase, like a church bell tower. There are strong ropes to hang on to though. Louise has thought of everything to make your stay like a home from home & everything is good quality. We didn’t want to leave…

Wow! We loved every minute at Maison des Chanoines. Matilde is an incredible host, the home is beautifully decorated and spacious, the garden is unbelievable, and the location is fantastic. We wish we had more time to spend there. A special part of our stay was the cooking class with Patrice. We went to the market to buy our food and prepared a delicious meal that we enjoyed in the garden. So special! Do not hesitate to book your stay and tell Matilde we say Bon Jour!
