We stayed for a friends wedding. The apartment was very nice and host was super helpful. We went to shops, takeaways and for coffee and everyone we met was very friendly.

Just had the most amazing stay in Carrick on Shannon. The area is amazing with beautiful scenery and so much to do. The icing on the cake was the beautiful apartment, had everything we needed and more, the views over the Shannon river were perfect. Karen the host couldn’t do enough for us definitely over and above. We will definitely be coming back. Thankyou Karen.

clean, tidy , good apartment

My family of 5 can’t say enough great things about our stay here! The place was really cute, comfortable and most importantly CLEAN. The rooftop balcony was really nice for having morning coffee outdoors. Rosemary had a few breakfast items ready for our arrival. The bonus for us was her restaurant/bar. The food was incredible and the drinks were just as lovely. We were welcomed and shown unbelievable small town Irish hospitality from the staff and locals. We felt right at home. It was an ideal location for our last 3 nights in Ireland!

Kevin is a fantastic host—warm, communicative, and very accommodating. The location is superb; we had our boat with us, and Kevin kindly arranged a parking spot for it. The house itself is cosy, well-equipped, and made for a comfortable stay. Just a tip: it's best to do your shopping on the way, as the nearest village is Belturbet. We’re already looking forward to returning!

Our family of 5 adults enjoyed our stay at Mary and Ray's home. Each of our 4 rooms had an ensuite bathroom, and the home was equipped with heated floors on the lower level, as well as a wood stove, gas fireplace, and dimmable lights for a cozy evening ambiance. The home has many personal touches like motion sensor night lights in the entrance, staircase, and bedrooms, as well as a display of various family members' drawings and paintings. The view of the lake is amazing. There are many lovely restaurants in the area, including a reservation-only prix-fixe restaurant serving venison and partridge. This is a European home, and we were surprised to see a few added luxuries like a few screened windows as well as a tumble dryer (to soften line-dried clothes). Mary and Ray were incredibly responsive and hospitable to us throughout our stay.

Breda was lovely and helpful. Our kids loved the use of lake and canoe, down every evening. Would definitely stay here again if going down, lovely big spacious house.

Excellent hosts therefore we had a wonderful stay at Driney House and hope to return. 😀 All the kids were so happy they could all bunk in together in the room with all the beds, like a proper sleepover, telling ghost stories with a torch. 👻 We stayed for three days and happily never left the grounds. It was so relaxing to take in the view while the kids had plenty of activities to keep them entertained, out in the fresh air getting plenty of exercise. They would have even slept on the trampoline!😀 The pool was a great hit, there is no deep end as such so it was great for the kids, and great to play volleyball. There were life vests available for use in a range of sizes for those that couldn’t swim. From the first contact the hosts were amazing, they were so helpful with a great generosity of spirit. A lovely family with a very special guest house. It’s like an activity centre with the most amazing views on the lake…..but the bonus is you have it all to yourself! 😀

Adam's property is in a fantastic location with a beautiful and soothing view over the lake below. A gated estate makes it so peaceful and private. All the amenities in the house that we needed were present and they were of a high standard. We found the property warm and comfortable, and we stayed in winter so that was great. The instructions to the property and how to enter were clear and easy to follow. Adam was very responsive and quick when we asked questions and provided all the information we asked for. He was flexible with our arrival and leaving times which really helped our logistics. We would definitely recommend the property and if we are looking for somewhere in this area again this would be top of our list. Watching the the sun come up on a frosty morning was so lovely!!.

Fabulous stay. House was beautiful and had everything we wanted for our trip. Hot tub was a definite highlight. Very comfortable with spectacular views. House is down a narrow country lane so just be aware of that. Would recommend highly for a lovely relaxing stay.

What a find. this apartment is very central and you can walk everywhere in the town from it. the apartment is really big and well laid out. everything was spotless. there were lots of nice touches like lots of cold bottled water in the fridge, some snacks on the counter, and nice furnishings. we were a big group but it was a great size for the 7 of us. I highly recommend this place and I'd love to come back again.

A really lovely, clean and spacious apartment in a superb location looking directly out onto the Shannon. A nice quiet spot with Glancy's Bar close by and the rest of Carrick just a short walk over the bridge. The apartment is immaculate and very stylish and Susan left us with fresh milk, orange juice, chocolate, tea, coffee, etc. The beds were comfortable, there were plenty of towels and plenty of storage space. Contact with Susan was great, initially using Airbnb messaging and then by phone and whats-app. She also left us a list of pubs, restaurants and things to do. We thought the cost was quite high but it's not bad when split between the 5 of us and it's on a par with whatever else is available in Carrick - and we were lucky to get it because there wasn't that much available - Carrick is a very popular place! Overall we had a fantastic stay, wouldn't hesitate to recommend Susan and would look forward to staying again if we return.

We had a great weekend in Carrick on Shannon. Chris' place was bright, clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend. Hope to go back sometime for a weekend break.

Paula was very friendly and helpful, we had our two dogs on their first trip and it was ideal. Large garden to run around and the walks along the canal were fabulous. Paula left us bread, milk and cereal which was very convenient. There was music upstairs in the bar which was busy but not too noisy.

I enjoyed my two night stay in Cormac’s so much, I felt so at home. Everything was perfect, the views looking out through the old sash windows of an old mill and the canal literally steps from the front door with the most peaceful walks. There are plenty of amenities in the village and the village itself feels very safe, welcoming & old-worldly - it’s incredibly pretty. The apartment itself has a beautiful stone & brick front which you can see from the photos and inside huge sash windows creating an airy feel. The apartment was super clean like it was brand new with everything you would need. I slept very well both nights. The bathroom is generous in size and the shower is a real treat! Not only is it a big wet space it has a huge, powerful shower with double shower head & easy to work. There was of hot water at all times during my stay, not just in the morning. Cormac has the heating of the apartment set just perfect so it was never cool or too hot. I highly recommend!

We were in Knockvicar to research our family roots so Anne's place was perfect because we could access all the local graveyards/Leitrim Heritage Centre, Ballinamore, Drumshabo music festival etc. Anne was super-helpful but also respected our privacy. She was there if needed. Loved her spacious kitchen, comfortable beds, extras left in the fridge for us on a very late arrival from Cork, esp milk and tea. Plenty of supplies in the bathroom and the place was spotless. We had two very peaceful/quiet nights of sleep and really enjoyed our stay in Knockvicar. Thank u Anne

Fiona was a very responsive host and very quick to answer any queries. The apartment was amazing with stunning views out over the water. Was so well equipped with everything you would need for a stay. Very peaceful location yet close to carrick on shannon. So much to do in the area too. highly recommend for a stay
