Cottage vacation rentals in L'Isle-aux-Allumettes

We had an amazing stay at the Jackalope Lodge. Shawn is a fantastic host, responds quickly and was friendly and efficient when he met us to show us around. The cottage and the grounds are wonderful. We celebrated the New Years with my extended family, 13 of us! There were comfortable beds for everyone and plenty of cozy space to enjoy. The hot tub and sauna are clean and well kept and great to enjoy in winter. The outdoor space is wonderful - we saw beautiful wildlife in the water and the fire pit area is phenomenal. The kitchen is well equipped - you can cook pretty much anything as well as bbq on the large deck. We highly recommend - you will not be disappointed. :)

Thank you Anna! The place was cozy and comfortable. The place had everything that we needed. BBQ, hot tub, camp fire, Netflix and everything else you would need when visiting a place like this. Walmart and grocery stores close by if you need to buy something as well. Overall a great place that I would recommend and even stay again! Summer or winter it’s a great spot. This is our second time staying with Bri and Devin, and we absolutely loved it. Bri and Devin are friendly, responsive, proactive and thoughtful. And their cottage is a dream that you can call a home away from home!! We definitely plan to stay again in the future!

Great chalet for a long weekend with friends. The space fit our group perfectly, bonus that each floor had a bathroom and plenty of sleeping arrangements. Sauna and hot tub are a tad small but still very lovely and fit 3 adults comfortably. Was looking for a long weekend retreat and this did not disappoint. Melissa was also super helpful and made some great recommendations through out our stay. Great place to also walk around and get out and enjoy nature.

If I could rate this place in one sentence it would be "we wished we lived here". Everyone in my family (dog included) loved the property. It was CLEAN, nice, spacious, warm and exactly as what you see in the photos. We didn't use the indoor fireplace at all as the home was well heated (I get cold easily too). The living room makes you feel very cozy when the sunsets and watching the stars at night here is breathtaking. The hosts sends you a PDF guide prior to your arrival so you know what to expect and a hard copy is available onsite as well. We mainly communicated with Foad and he was very responsive, kind and really helped us out when we got lost on our way there. Quick tip: use Google Maps! The hosts also provided complimentary chocolate and champagne when you arrive which was an added bonus. I'm also very thankful for the complimentary Keurig/ hot chocolate! Will definitely revisit again!

We had a great stay at Tracy’s place. We went there right after the winter storm, roads were cleaned and access was clear. We had everything we needed. We loved having the entertainment and games in the cottage. The area was peaceful and less than hour from Gatineau National Park.

We had a wonderful stay at Eliane’s place! The cottage was very comfortable, very spacious, well decorated and very clean. The place is very quiet and peaceful and has a beautiful view on the Ottawa River. We would stay there any time again.

It was a a wonderful comfy little cottage! It was very clean ! Jennifer was very easy and great to communicate with. The neighbor was very friendly and nice !Would go back anytime !

The cottage was surrounded by beautiful views, had a comfy interior and was close to excellent trails. It had everything we needed to make wonderful meals, enjoy a fire, and relax the time away! We really enjoyed hiking to the view point on bear mountain. Remember to bring all supplies as we ran into a situation where we didn’t bring shampoo/conditioner, etc. The cottage has a few decks, all with comfortable seating and great views. If you’re looking for a quiet spot, close to nature and the lake then this is your place :)

My family and I were happy to stay at this rental property for a second time over the Easter long weekend. Barry continues to be a great host. The home remains spacious enough for a big family (and dog!), while remaining cozy and comfortable. We had yet another peaceful weekend in the Valley. Thank you for your hospitality once again, Barry! We look forward to our next visit.

We enjoyed a lovely week at Matt's place on Lake Clear. The cottage was very clean and had enough room for us to spread out. We loved spending time down by the bunk house over looking the water. The cottage was well appointed and had everything we needed to enjoy our vacation.

This is a beautiful spot, quite private and spacious! We loved the view from the big windows and porches! I hope we can return some time for another enjoyable vacation.

We recently stayed here for our March break and it was an amazing week. Beautiful lake, lots of walking trails and super private and away from the busy city. Accommodations were excellent. We had the best weekend! The house is perfect. Fully equipped with everything you could need and decorated so lovely- I can’t think of anything I’d want different. The location is idyllic- peaceful, beautiful, yet very convenient to get to lovely local trails. Peter was incredibly friendly and quick to respond. I hope we get an opportunity to return as we would 100% recommend it!

This has got to be one of the best vacations I’ve had. Insung’s place was very peaceful and quiet, while still having a lot of things to do. The house was very clean, kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfortable. My partner and I rented a boat from a local outfitter but unfortunately didn’t catch any fish, I’m assuming it’s because of the season. There is also a small, private shallow “beach” by the dock which can be perfect for kids. The gazebo is lovely for the times you want to be outside but not with the bugs! Overall, Insung’s place was a dream! I will definitely be back with my family! Thank you, Insung!

We really enjoyed our stay - nice and quiet area and a great base for exploring Manitou mountain and calabogie peaks resort. Clean and tidy. Recommend!

Awesome place! Super spacious and the Sauna was wonderful. Definitely would recommend as a cozy cabin stay in the winter and I can only imagine how beautiful it would be in the summer. Thanks again for the lovely stay!

This was our 3rd time staying at Jennifer and Tom's beautiful cottage. It is a great location for day trips to Ottawa yet secluded enough to just relax. Fantastic hosts and lots of personal touches. Highly recommend.

This was a great location and cottage. There was nothing major to comment on. It would have been nice if there were trails within walking distance but there's lots to do at the cottage itself (canoes, kayaks, pool table, lots of lawn space). There was a good, comfortable amount of space for all of our guests to have their own room. Ping was very responsive when messaged with any questions.
