Sleepingman Retreat - The Riverhouse

This is one of the best places we've stayed at. Everything is well taken care of, the owners are very responsive and friendly, and the location can't be beat. We hope to stay again next summer!
A spacious entrance is framed by natural stone landscaping and surrounded by tall evergreen trees. The well-maintained asphalt driveway leads to a large, rustic cabin with wooden siding and a dark roof, creating a harmonious blend with the serene wilderness.

Chateau Fortine

Loved it! The caretakers/homeowners were available in a separate building, but honestly, I never needed them. Other than checking the hot tub chemicals and levels, I never even saw them. I enjoyed the staff-recommended side trips—hiking, kayaking, mountain biking—and access to nearby towns for eating, drinking, and music spots. Great picnic recommendations were provided, complete with a picnic basket; mountain bikes/single seat provided at no extra cost! I needed banking and a haircut and found the right places easily. 45 miles to Whitefish, but way quieter and cheaper. I loved the massage, as well as the infrared sauna and hot tub in the relaxing spa building. I was delighted by the downstairs games room and wine cellar. Whether solo or with family, there is plenty for everyone. Highly recommend for anyone.

Clean and very spacious. Quiet spot on a pristine mountain lake. Loved the paddle boards and kayaks. Fire pit was perfectly suited to gathering and was a nightly ritual. Would definitely come back again!

Bitterroot Bungalow on Little Bitterroot Lake!

MikeRating, 5 stars21 months ago
This place is beautiful and beats the traffic and congestion of Flathead Lake hands down. If you need a big place to stay as a home base for your travel with family and children, to use a Flathead valley pun, this is your "huckleberry". It's only 30 minutes from Kalispell and maybe 45 minutes to West Glacier where all the guide services are for all things Glacier National Park. The Bison Range is only a couple hours drive through the most incredible scenery. Little Bitterroot Lake is about as peaceful as it gets and we spent a lot of time swimming and paddling right off the dock. We met some of the neighbors, both permanent and some vacationers, and they were super nice. The permanent residents are definitely thankful when quiet rules are followed so don't bring your frat house out here. This is a family spot.

For a trailer, this location is incredible. right on the water, plenty of parking, and the beat part is Tina and John. they were so friendly and outgoing. Our small trip turned into an unexpected hunting party and those 2 were incredibly hospitable and helpful. I could not recommend more.

Happy Trails Treehouse

Fantastic cabin! Had everything needed for our stay. My two friends and I were hunting about 30 minutes away so it definitely beat driving (2 hours) back home every night. The only thing I would do if you are staying in the winter months is have slippers or thick socks. It is an elevated cabin and the floor was a bit chilly. Would recommend and would stay again. Thank you Bill.
A yellow kayak is seen gliding across calm waters, surrounded by dense evergreen trees and towering mountains in the background. A person sitting in the kayak is wearing an orange life jacket, reflecting the peaceful atmosphere of the scenic lake.

Bill was great at communicating. Any questions we had he immediately answered. Nice quiet location with plenty of room for parking. Rooms were cozy, clean and had that "cabin" feel. Great place and will consider staying again if in the area.
A serene river view reflects the colorful sunset, surrounded by lush greenery and trees. A small dock extends into the calm water, where a dog sits peacefully, adding a touch of tranquility to the picturesque landscape.
