Vacation rentals with lake access in Lewis and Harris

On peut dire que le logement est merveilleux. Très propre, bien décoré, au bord du lac avec vue sur celui-ci , juste sublime. Tout est bien pensé jusque dans les moindres détails. Un mot d'accueil nous attendait ce qui fait très plaisir. Don est un hôte très réactif et amical. Il devance même toutes les questions que l'on peut se poser . Je recommande sans hésiter ce magnifique endroit. on a pu visiter toute l'île car la maison est bien placée, on s'est régalé. Merci à notre hôte

Hazel’s home is in an idyllic location. We had everything we needed, and Hazel was very responsive. This has much more of the feel of a traditional, personal home being shared than any other AirBnb we’ve been in. There is personality and character all throughout.

We came for 2 weeks of vacation in a place very different from Los Angeles. We were not disapointed and loved our stay! Josephine was super helpful and the house was warm, welcoming and very well equipped. Thank you!

Das Haus ist eine kleine Perle auf Harris and Lewis. Es bietet Komfort und hat eine erstaunlich gut sortierte Küche! Kochen hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht! Die Betten waren bequem und alles war sehr sauber und wirklich liebevoll hergerichtet Iain und Fiona geben sich wirklich viel mühe! Auch als wir ein Problem hatten, wurde uns sofort geholfen und wir mussten nie lange auf eine Antwort warten. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt und können die Unterkunft empfehlen. I was familiar with the area and we used lodge as place to stay and reach Skye & Applecross, excellent value cost spread by 6 guests. We found local representative Yvonne to be of considerable value, responding quickly to requirements.

We loved the quiet rural setting on the loch with colours changing in the light all day long. The villages and towns in the area had some good restaurants and we found many places for long walks. The facilities at the house were adequate for cooking and leisure. The only downside, which did not affect us really, were some peculiarities that we've never before encountered in the many airBNBs we have rented in the past: several rooms, closets and cupboards were locked and off-limits; and many rather unnecessary "polite advice" signs posted. In our previous experience, the number of guests has had no effect on access.

We loved our stay - just 15 minutes away from Portree and Portree is a bit of a hot mess in peak tourist season so we were very glad to stay in the quiet and peace of the Spoons. Internet was pretty good - we didn't try streaming anything but had no problems with uploading photos and all. We found Doug to be a very funny and charasmatic host, who clearly takes a lot of pride in the beautiful private annex he's set up.

Just finished a three night stay here at the end of May. I would 100% look to stay here again if ever back in the area. The place is just so cozy with its king size soft bed, super comfy couch and oversized swivel chair, and windows everywhere to sit and watch the sheep meander up and down the pasture. Gives the right amount of privacy/seclusion but in a good location to get to Portree and scenic hikes.

Hector’s place was very comfortable, easy to access and you couldn’t beat the location. The flat is very spacious with beautiful lighting at all times of the day. Hector was great to communicate with and responsive to our inquiries. The Cafe below is an added bonus.

Plockton is a fantastic little village surrounded by beauty. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Guillaume’s flat. Well appointed kitchen, comfortable beds, and very clean. Highly recommend!

Dry Island is totally unique. We were blessed with the most amazing weather during our stay - so walking over the floating bridge was like walking to another world. Amazing views every way you look. Ian the host is very easy to communicate with and helpful. We were with a family group staying elsewhere in the area, and so didn’t take advantage of a shellfish safari - which would be great.

Tout s’est parfaitement déroulé chez Sarah. Logement impeccable tant au niveau de la propreté que de la disposition des pièces et l’emplacement. La salle principale avec la cuisine était très grande et très joliment décorée avec un poêle à bois. Très agréable pour réchauffer la pièce après de grandes balades dans les environs. Il y avait absolument tout pour bien faire la cuisine. Rien ne manquait. Sarah est une personne charmante et très disponible avec qui la communication est très facile. L’appartement correspond exactement à la description sur le site. Il y a très franchement aucun point négatif, je recommande vivement le logement de Sarah. Les vues de l’appartement sur le loch donne l’impression de vivre sur un bateau. Allez-y, vous ne serez pas déçu. C’est de loin le plus beau et le plus confortable que nous avons eu lors de notre roadtrip de 15 jours en Écosse.

If you want to tour Skye without paying inflated Skye prices, this cottage is a great option as it is only a ten minute drive to the Skye bridge. Plus you are well situated for exploring Plockton, Applecross, Glenelg, etc. The cottage is in a very peaceful setting. You will really enjoy driving back from a day’s exploration because the evening light is so wonderful in the Highlands. We had a week of unusually warm weather - good luck with yours on the “misty isle”.

Beautiful cottage. Felt out of the way but was close to road into portree. Very warm building, bathroom and rooms superb. Would highly recommend and revisit. Visiting sheep was an added bonus!

Great little house in an absolutely gorgeous location—the perfect base for exploring Uist. Rhonda was an excellent host, regularly contacting us with any updates and ensuring that we had everything we needed. Hope to be back soon!

Great location for this beautiful cottage right on the water with views to kyle of lochalsh, kyleakin to the skye bridge. Only a short walk in kyleakin to castle moil and some food places. Good place to stay to easily explore skye, plockton, applecross and glenelg from. It is well equipped inside with all you will need including a cosy wood burning stove if the weather is not kind. We got glorious sun except for one morning with thick haar when the boat horns were the loudest wake up call I've ever had. Views from every window with a lovely seating area by the window to enjoy regardless of the weather. If sunny the bbq was a great option to have in the garden. Fab wee seat by the water through the gate to sit watching the local rowing club, fishfarm boats, hebridean cruise ships and yachts passing by. We saw an otter fishing just off the garden, few seals and lots of heron's passing by on the wing so keep your eyes peeled.

We loved this place. Truly beautiful surroundings, right on the waterfront. Nice little pub up the road that does good food and a small well stocked shop. The house was lovely. Very comfortable. Thank you!

Ian and Linda were fantastic and very kind hosts, really made us feel very welcome and even put out some snacks and wine for us in the kitchen which was a great touch. The location of Plockton itself is stunning and peaceful and we had a great fish and chips at The Plockton Shores, a short walk away! Thank you again Ian and Linda!

Lovely! This cute, well-appointed cottage nestled on a sheep farm overlooking a loch was perfect for our family of five and our four wonderful days on Skye. Karen was a first rate host, super responsive and helpful. We’d stay again in a heartbeat

We had a great stay in this beautiful traditional cottage. The photos don’t do it justice. The location is central to the whole island so it was very easy to reach both North and South. If you are looking for a peaceful holiday with a slow pace of life, the Joiners is perfect. Everyone is so friendly. We really enjoyed exploring the island and its rugged beauty and stunning beaches. Eating out options are limited and you have to drive however the quality is excellent especially the seafood.
