Carton Bungalow

PaulRating, 5 stars4 days ago
We stayed here as a stop-off between the Dun Laoghaire ferry port and the Sligo coast. After a long journey we couldn’t have asked for a better, more welcoming and well equipped property. Maureen had thought of everything - supplies in the kitchen cupboards (enough for us to make a breakfast) and shower facilities that felt like an upmarket boutique hotel. The place was very clean and the beds very comfy. Maureen’s directions were really good and Mullingar seemed a really nice place. We highly recommend Carton Bungalow. Many thanks Maureen.

Upon arrival, Gerry met us and gave us a tour of our accommodations. He also provided us with pertinent information about the town, places to eat/visit. The accommodations were well appointed and very clean. Throughout our stay, Gerry was quick to respond to any of our queries. Definitely recommend staying at his airbnb.

We had a great time with Tom and his lovely family, I highly recommend his place, a great experience in a real Irish home.
A modern bathroom is featured, showcasing a glass shower enclosure and a sleek toilet. Marble-like tiles cover the walls and floor, while a white radiator is mounted on one side. A window sill displays neatly arranged toiletries, adding a functional touch to the space.

Kiernan's self catering

The space was fabulous, the kitchen was well equipped, the beds were amazingly comfy, and there were lovely decorative touches everywhere which really made the place really homely. All furnishings and fittings were of excellent quality. Overall fantastic place to stay. It was a lovely touch that there were already things there for tea and coffee (and biscuits); and basics such as cleaning cloths, dishwasher tablets, toilet roll and kitchen towel. Responsive and lovely host. We wish we could have stayed longer and would definitely return!
A breakfast spread is arranged on a patterned tablecloth, featuring jars of layered ingredients, a bottle of milk, and small jars of golden honey. Additionally, a loaf of sliced bread and pastries sit alongside tea bags, butter, and cheese, all presented under a glass dome.

The cottage is everything you need for a weekend away. It was sooooo warm, which is great when it’s bitterly cold outside. The Rustic Inn has a good menu and was showing the rugby. Host was very helpful. I would definitely book here again. I’d like to visit in warmer and dry weather to really enjoy the surrounding areas and the canal walk.
