The house is a traditional Normandy longhouse, made of granite, wood and tile. There are 185 square meters of indoor space. The farmhouse has been sensitively restored using traditional materials. La Pichardiere sits in the heart of the Normandy countryside far away from busy traffic in a secluded two acre garden set in a corner of a regional park (equivalent to a National Park in UK) -- It is a place to escape from city life! I love its peacefulness and the presence of the natural world.

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. The large living room comprising of lounge, kitchen and dinning areas with access to the patio for outdoor dining. On the ground floor, down a step there is also a double bedroom with en-suite shower room. Upstairs off a large landing there is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a large family room with a double bed and bunk beds with an en-suite bathroom. All rooms have views of the large gardens and countryside beyond.

Only a short drive to local amenities , such as bakeries, Italian restaurants, super market & sites of interest, as seen in our pictures.

We immediately feel that Herman and Caroline had the pleasure of setting up their beautiful Norman house so that everyone feels good there. The house is very nice and perfectly equipped. There's nothing missing! The huge garden is full of nooks and crannies and games for the kids. We were 2 couples with 4 children and a baby and we all had a great stay! Note: the bedroom "dorm" (with a double bed and a single bed) at the top of the stairs, on the 1st floor, is not closed and through (you have to cross it to access the bathroom). But that doesn't stop us from wanting to come back next year. We recommend: go there without a second thought!

We had a wonderful week's stay at Le Surret. David, Veronique and Claire were very warm and welcoming throughout our stay. They accommodated us at the last minute which we really appreciated. Their communication was excellent. The house is wonderful. Very well equipped. It had all we needed and more. Our two girls (5 and 1) loved visiting the animals on the farm and feeding the horses each day. Truely a marvellous home for our holiday. We hope to come back soon. Thank you again. John and Kirstin
