Fitness-friendly vacation rentals in Lake Superior

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Krista's place. She provided us with recommendations via messages for great places to ski, and the apartment had a comprehensive list of suggestions as well. My wife and I cooked one or two meals every day, and the kitchen was fantastic to work in. The bed was comfortable, and the living room was spacious, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. We loved walking around downtown Sault Ste. Marie, especially Queen St., where we found many after-Christmas bargains at various shops. We also dined at several restaurants within walking distance, which was very convenient. Overall, Krista’s place made our trip memorable, and we would definitely stay here again.

Stephanie was a thoughtful host, easy to communicate and quick to respond. The apartment was equipped with everything you'd need and was so warm and cozy from the comfortable beds to the 'Franklin stove' gas heater. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The street was quiet and the grounds were lovely. It turned out that we had a personal connection to Stephanie and her husband which made our stay all the more amiable. I highly recommend staying at "Down the way from Duncan Bay'!

We had an excellent stay at the Luxe Loft! We were very impressed by how well-stocked the condo was, with everything needed to prepare our own meals. The spices, paper towel, ziplock bags and plentiful coffee and tea options were especially appreciated. Among the coffee and tea options were ground coffee, whole bean coffee with a grinder, a Keurig with various options; and different flavorings. We also appreciated the different lighting options throughout the condo, brighter white lights and warmer lights too. The welcome basket was a nice touch as well. Overall, excellent option in the heart of Canal Park! Highly recommended.

Fantastic place just north of MTUs campus. Host was super responsive and took care of any minor issues we had. Highly recommend

Dylan was a Great host! Responsive communication, very clean unit. Heating was a bit difficult to manage at negative outside temperatures, but that's to be expected. All in all it was a good place to stay for a month while my family and I made a transition. I would stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay with our party of 8 for Grandma’s marathon! The accommodations were perfect for us, very comfortable and spacious. The view was outstanding! Kids loved the pool and hot tub. Easy to get to the busses for the race. Was also very impressed by Two Harbors and surrounding area in terms of things to do and places to eat. Loved that the home was family oriented and had books and games for our kids. 10/10 recommend!

Our weekend stay was perfect. The accommodations were just as described. We slept very well and will definitely book here again.

We really enjoyed our time. It was a great place to hang out and enjoy each others' company for our girls trip. We were close enough to Duluth that we were able to go back and forth to the home and not feel like we were wasting time or gas. The floors are not sound proof in between the upstairs unit and the rental; if you are looking for silence this is not for you but it did not bother us for our time there.

This place was perfect for our little getaway. The unit is very clean and the colors make it feel tranquil and relaxing. The views are unbelievable. Holly was very responsive. The WiFi went out one day and she responded right away and had the building maintenance team fix it within minutes. We will definitely be staying here again!

Great place! We enjoyed our stay. Loved being close to all amenities of Giants Ridge. Very spacious room and nice to have multiple bathrooms! Eldon communicated all details ahead of our stay and shared all information we needed and more!

We enjoyed our stay at this condo! It was incredibly clean, well-maintained, and the location couldn’t have been better—ski/board in and out. Had everything you could need, including games, kitchen gadgets, and an amazing view right on the end where you can watch the Lutsen action. Would absolutely stay here again. Does sleep 4; however, the sofa bed is what it is—uncomfortable. Overall, this is a great option for its cute lodge check-in, friendly staff, cleanliness, convenience, and location.

The view from the room of Lake Superior was nothing short of surreal - just as advertised. I do think that the room next to ours was a little too close for comfort because our balconies were adjacent and their layout can be like a hotel. Apart from that, the staff are responsive and helpful. The amenities work as advertised and the location is easily accessible through the lake walk if you want to go into canal park. We had a relaxing stay and know that we paid $$ to be at the water's edge, sitting by the fireplace, in the cozy living room.

I loved Linda's place. I needed a home base to hike the Ice Age Trail. October is the perfect time and Linda's place is the perfect base. The Trail passes right in front of the resort. I enjoyed the pool and the hot tub after a long day of hiking. There are some great local restaurants. I will stay again.

Fantastic spot! Lots of room. You’d think being above a storefront it’d be noisy. It’s not! Store is opened limited hours, and you wouldn’t even know it was there. Plenty of privacy, plenty of space! The view of the water is amazing. Practically walking distance to the Mackinac Ferry that will take you to the island. Hands down, would ONLY stay HERE on our next trip to the area!

What a perfect condo! So comfy and beautifully decorated. We love our Lutsen mountain vacations and this location can’t be beat. The ski in/ski out could not be more convenient! Nice little deck to sit and relax and enjoy a little après ski time. Mountain views and quick access to pool and hot tub! We definitely will be back.

Anna's place was lovely. Ironwood always has a range from very cheap to quite expensive, so finding a middle ground accommodation that was clean, peaceful, and up to date was very much so enjoyed!

Great cozy cottage with resort amenities. We used the canoe and kayak and brought out own kayaks at the private lakes. Lots of quiet roads to bike and little destinations to get to - pool, beach, restaurant, golf course. We swam everyday in the lake or at the pool. Great location to explore- so many great little towns from St. Croix Falls to Danbury to Balsalm Lake to Spooner with a lot of food choices. We even caught a ton of panfish ( but threw most back) and had a fresh- caught meal.

We loved our stay at Mary Ann’s place! Our family of 5 fit very comfortably and there was room for even more. We were amazed at the cleanliness of it we felt right at home instantly. The hosts went above and beyond to care for their guests with many little details to make our stay great. The best part was how pet friendly it was. There was even a leash out back so my dog could be tied up to go outside which was so thoughtful. Would definitely stay here again!

Roomy and very clean, comfortable. The decks were a big plus, as the weather was better than expected. Well-stocked kitchen. Very comfortable beds. Host was readily available to answer questions. Great location for hiking the shore, waterfalls, and rivers at nearby state parks. Grand Marais was just 20 minutes north; Coho Cafe always great (Salmon Chowder!); dining at Blue Fin Bay was easy, but mixed reviews on our meals.

Steve was so accommodating!! Allowed us to check in early and was very responsive to our request. The house is beautiful! Watched a doe with her 2 fawns out the living room window. Nice view of lake. Our son loved the golf simulator and our daughter loved the massage chair. Easy walk to the indoor pool for the grandkids. Such a great stay!

This is my third time back to the 10th hole and I’ll continue to come back every year! Incredible location, clean space, and Vita is so kind and responsive.

We loved our stay at Loon Landing! Plenty of space for 6 adults and 2 dogs. The property was beautiful and private, very well-kept. We loved having access to the paddle boat, canoe, and kayaks! The lake was perfect for swimming (for humans and dogs)! The host thought of EVERY accommodation you would ever need (and more). Shane was sure to check-in frequently and was readily available at all times. 10/10 would recommend this listing to others!

We hope to stay here again. The home is so cute and clean. It had everything we needed as a family staying for a few nights. The yard is beautiful. So many flowers. It’s walking distance from the lake and only blocks away from all the main shops and restaurants. There are trail heads a couple of blocks away. Beds were comfy. The AC worked well. The fire put out back was a nice touch. There was even a small workout area with weights. We had such a wonderful time.
