Lake house vacation rentals in Lake Superior

This house was nothing short of excellent for our family vacation! SUPER clean house with everything we needed to feel right at home. Amazing views of the lake from the second level deck and about a 40ft walk from the house to the beach! The beach was soft and sandy as far out as I clould wade. Great for the kids, zero rocks, algae, or sea weed. Spacious rooms, bathrooms, living areas, everything was very grandeur. All kinds of games, kitchen fully stocked with all the utensils needed for all the meals we cooked, plenty of bathroom linens along with ample beach towels for everyone. The house is within sn hour drive of pictured rocks, 15 minutes to kitchiti kipi. Plenty of restraunts in the area and a GREAT grocery store 4 minutes away. Cant say enough good things about this house, probably our favorite airbnb we’ve ever booked! This was our first trip to the Upper Peninsula and we will definitely return!

Absolutely gorgeous location and super clean home! Well stocked with basics and comfortable inside and out. Many chairs to choose from outside. Bug spray and umbrellas available. We loved sitting on the deck by the lake when the weather was nice. Incredibly peaceful! We heard loons, geese and that's about it. No traffic/train sounds - very quiet! Loved it! Beds/pillows/towels were comfy, as was the sofa. Monica left us a package of pancake mix and everything we needed to make it. So thoughtful and delicious! Couple things to mention - bring slippers the floors are cold and there are no rugs. Also, there is no tv, but there are some dvds in a cabinet for when there is inclimate weather. We were able to get online more than half the time. (T-Mobile). The bathtub is a tall soaker, but a bit harder to get into and very slippery on the bottom. There is nowhere to eat/buy groceries nearby. The closest ones we found were in Thunder Bay 45 min up the road. A very nice place!

We decided to take a trip to the UP for our annual family road trip. Matt's place fit our needs perfectly! Peaceful and plenty of opportunities to enjoy our family time together. Our boys (6 and 10) loved exploring the beach, collecting and skipping rocks. The views were beautiful even if the weather was rainy. We were able to hike around nearby silver falls which was beautiful! We were very happy with our stay and the accommodations. Thank you Matt for open this slice of heaven up to our family.

Absolutely gorgeous cabin on a peninsula into the river, surrounded on three sides by water! One of the most tranquil places we have stayed, with all the amenities you could need. The kayaks/canoes were lovely and Susan provided so many other little touches we never knew we needed! Another plus to the rustic cabin is the built-in easy-to-use sound system which made for great memories singing songs together while cooking dinner etc. Would highly recommend a stay here to anyone planning a visit to Eagle River or the Northwoods of Wisconsin!

Great home with wonderful beach front property! Location was great for hiking the Porcupine Mountains. Would stay again and highly recommend!

A beautiful house that fit the needs for our family while attending one of our sons wedding up at Gooseberry Falls State Park. It allowed us to relax and feel comfortable while there. Thank you

This stay was everything we could have hoped for in an AIRBNB. The home is attractive and well appointed, with all the essentials you could possibly need. It’s sparkly clean. It has a wonderful view from every direction. The guide for guests made it so easy to use the mechanicals; and the host is very responsive. Make sure to walk the beach every day. We did! So amazing!!

This is our second stay at the Fox Den and it was truly even better than the first! Great hosts, beautiful property and the view of the lake is just incredible. It’s a very long drive for us but the minute we arrived I remembered why it was so worth it! We also rented a boat and caught a ton of fish including Small Mouth Bass, Large Mouth Bass, two good sized Pike and a few pan fish, great few days of fishing! Fox Den is a special place with great hosts and we would give it 10 stars ⭐️ if we could.

House was as described and the host put lots of thought into the little things. Very well stocked and very clean. Beds were comfortable. Centrally located for day trips. Sandy beach very close. Had a great time and would stay here again.

We had a great stay! The place was clean, cozy, and exactly as described. The location was perfect, close to everything we needed and easy to find. Check-in was smooth, and we felt welcomed and right at home from the moment we arrived. Would definitely stay here again!

We absolutely loved our stay here and will definitely come back!!!!! We ate at the Pea Patch one evening and listened to some great live music Nearby grocery store was also very friendly and had everything we needed. Our dogs also loved the place as well :)

The bay was one of the few bays that weren't frozen over; while there was still some ice floats, the water was very calm and relaxing and the whole place was very serene. Very few other people were around since it was mid-April and we really enjoyed the quiet of it all. The apple fritters really are delicious, and the other reviews are right to suggest getting all your groceries in Sault Ste. Marie on your way (assuming you're coming from the south). If anyone in your party is tall, be aware the door frames are 6' so anyone taller will have to be careful not to whack their heads. We would love to come back in the summer and use the beach and all the outdoor stuff with the dogs. Can't beat the views from the front windows!

This place was a perfect getaway spot! The home is clean and the decor is very cute. Large kitchen with all amenities necessary to cook meals while there. Beds more firm than I’m used to, but still very comfortable and cozy. Comfy blankets, sheets, and pillows also. Location was fantastic and rustic with few neighbors. Private access to beautiful little lake with dock and a variety of boats to explore with. Flies and mosquitos could be intense at times, so we really enjoyed relaxing outside within the protections of the screened in porch. Very peaceful and relaxing trip, thanks to this gem. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful lakeside Airbnb. The home was spacious, spotless, and incredibly well-stocked with everything we needed. Waking up to the lake view each morning was such a peaceful treat. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and scenic getaway!

What a magnificent home!!! The view was spectacular The home was stocked with every cooking utensil necessary including a crock pot etc. There was plenty of room to sleep and play The deck was wonderful from 0430-10 at night it was light and enjoyable but they were so smart and gracious to have darkening shades in all bedrooms We did not use any of the tv’s and loved that there wasn’t one in the main sitting room upstairs as it lead to more conversations than turning on a movie or show We did not use either fire pit (ran out of time) We spent hours on the water and enjoyed the sauna every night!!! But mostly laughing and having family time Our hosts were beyond the BEST!!! Great conversations, advice on hiking, swimming, fishing, where to rent canoes and other water equipment but mostly they were just delightful and interesting people who love their home and the people who rent it out. Thank you Heidi and Charlie for a most enjoyable and memorable family get together

Had a wonderful time and the accommodations were great. Cabin had everything we needed and more, was perfect for our fishing trip! Will definitely stay again, the host Sherry and Bob are super nice people.

Our stay at High Banks Haven was very relaxing with privacy and lots of amenities. The wood burning hot tub was such a treat, we were in it multiple times a day. Once you get it to temp. it’s amazing how well it holds temperature the next morning! A quick walk down a set of stairs to the beach, it’s very rocky but that’s what we were looking for. The master bedroom was cozy and had a comfortable firm mattress. Everything was clean and tidy. Kelly was very friendly and quick to respond to any questions we had. We had a wonderful stay and will rave about this place to everyone we know!

Absolutely wonderful stay! The attention to detail in this modern, beautifully designed home was perfect. The large windows offer a stunning view of the water — the ideal backdrop for morning coffee and breakfast in the kitchen. The location couldn’t be better: peaceful, yet just steps away from everything you need. We used this as our base for a trip to Isle Royale and were able to walk right to the ship. There’s also a great local bakery nearby and a grocery store just a block and a half away. Quiet, scenic, and incredibly convenient — what more could you ask for?

This house was so great! Private, lakefront, large decks, large bedrooms. Full finished basement. Wildlife galore. Very quiet lake. Hot tub was amazing — providing great sunset and lake views. Definitely be back — great place to explore the UP, Marquette, and all there is to do in the area.

So many good things to say… Location was amazing, near Mt. Bohemia and surrounded by Michigan’s most dynamic landscapes. For the host, Karin had very clear instructions and quickly responded to any questions/chats. Karin and her co-hosts could teach masterclasses on running AirBnbs. We brought everything with us that we could think of (air fryer, rice steamer, nonstick pan, disposable coffee cups, etc.) and she already had every item ready for use. We took notes for updates on our home because this place was amazing. A summertime rental would probably be insane. You could tell the place had the outdoor area going on but we were there mid-February. Kudos to this place and its management!

This place is amazing. One of the best places we have stayed in. The home is beautiful and sitting by the water is peaceful. We were able to visit a variety of places from this location if you want to explore the UP. This is definitely a place we will revisit. Caroline is an amazing host. This is my 2nd time coming to Jason's place and it was amazing again! Highly recommend coming here for the views, relaxation and gorgeous home! Me and my friends had an amazing time and definitely plan on coming again! Jason was highly responsive and accommodating. We had an issue that was not the hosts' fault and they responded immediately. Place was ultra clean as well.
