Lake Moomaw fishing vacation rentals

This was such a perfect, peaceful spot! We were in for the Jackson Scenic River Trail Marathon and couldn’t have stayed at a better place. The trail was a short drive away, so it was very convenient. The cabin had a relaxing patio, and we enjoyed the scenery outside under the roof while it rained. Gorgeous! Thanks for having us!

Our stay with Wanda was such a peaceful experience! My family came to stay for graduation and we felt right at home !! I would highly recommend if you want a space that feels like a home away from home! Also dog friendly with a great yard :)

This was our 4th stay at the Flower Farm House and we can't wait for #5. It is just perfect for our group and we always enjoy ourselves. The kitchen is fabulous, with everything we could want or need. The firepit is our favorite nighttime spot and there is always plenty of wood for our use. Highly recommend,

The cabin was clean, river access was great, and it's close to downtown Lynchburg with just a few minutes of driving. Matthew was accomodating with our arrival time due to some last minute changes on our end and we were grateful for that. I'd stay again if visiting the area.

Amy’s place was a true hidden gem, beautiful property, 60 acres of country living and privacy to roam, yet all the comforts of home in the house itself. Kitchen was super clean with modern appliances, with everything you might need to make meals. Bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and exactly what we needed, the kids especially loved having their own rooms, and their own separate section of the house! Our dog enjoyed every minute of off-leash time, exploring the woods, trails, and favorite place by far, the creek! Amy was very responsive and messaged with us back and forth before, during and after our stay. Town is not too far away with restaurants and activities, and Amy was quick to offer suggestions. All in all a great, memory-making trip, and we hope to come back to visit again soon!

Aaron was a great host. Extremely responsive via text / phone call for a few questions we had about the house. The house itself was great. Very old with rustic charm which we loved. We really enjoyed sitting out on the front porch and the foliage was gorgeous in the front yard. Photos were very accurate. The only negative I would say is that the king bedroom on the front of the house that overlooks the main road is very loud, which was a little disruptive for sleep/ naps for our toddler even with a sound machine on. Beds were very comfortable and none of the other guests noticed the street noise because of their room locations were farther away. Town was very sleepy which is what we expected! We enjoyed the playground in walking distance, dinner out, lunch out, and the nearby brewery was fun. Boys went to a golf course nearby that was much cheaper than GB. Overall, we had a very enjoyable trip!

I had such a great stay at Ms. Marsha’s historic home. From the moment I arrived with my two pups, she welcomed us like family. The house has so much character with a rich history that Ms. Marsha was happy to share. The surrounding acres are absolutely beautiful. Her home was clean, cozy and she offered all the little touches that made it feel like home. The bed was really comfortable and the neighborhood was close to everything I needed while I explored the area. Ms. Marsha was everything you’d hope for in a host. So responsive, kind, funny, a pleasure to talk to and genuinely eager to share local gems. And I have to say, I absolutely took a liking to her fur baby, Mr. Willie who is truly in charge of the property (smile). If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with great character and the kind of hospitality that feels like home, Ms. Marsha’s place is it. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat and totally recommend it to anyone wanting a warm, welcoming place to unwind.

We loved staying here! Tamara was very kind and responsive in her text and we were personally welcomed by her husband Greg. He showed us around the house and we got to chat with him about the local area! We also got home made cookies and coffee in the morning. That was so nice! About the room: the bed was very comfortable and the room and bathroom were very clean. I would definitely recommend staying here. The drive up to the house and sitting outside on the porch looking out over the mountains was absolutely magical!

Keyra is so sweet and welcoming and went out of her way to make me feel at home! It’s so quiet and peaceful on her property and her dog is such a sweet boy that loves peanut butter crackers :)…would absolutely stay again!

Our son lives in Covington and we were looking for a large home to rent for Easter weekend with all the family. Found Glen Haven and were impressed. Location is easy...15 minutes from Covington. Area is beautiful and peaceful. The property is fantastic with plenty of space of walking, running, exploring. The house itself is historic (1832!) with loads of character and unique style. The entire space is on one floor (we had elderly people with us so this was very helpful). 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (2 with showers, 1 with bathtub only). Kitchen has most amenities needed. Stove is gas (preferred by me) and lots of glassware and plates, silverware. It does need some steak knives or similar. We couldn't find a chef's knife or steak knife but went to Walmart and got one. Lots of supplies (tp, paper towels, trash bags, dishwasher detergent) and very nice to have a coffee station with coffee and sugar on site. Also, good shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and plenty of towels in bathrooms. Love!

This house is an outdoor paradise! Trails right outside your door, loads of space for family or training partners, and a super helpful and knowledgeable host made this the perfect spot for a weekend in the woods.

Tamara's home is beautiful, with the most amazing view! The drive out from Lexington was very scenic and enjoyable. You'll want to leave the curtains open all day so that you can enjoy the beautiful view, from sunrise to sunset. We sat on the porch to eat dinner one evening and not only enjoyed the mountain view, but also watching a deer on the lawn. Tamara's house is absolutely gorgeous, and the room had a comfortable mattress which gave us a great night's sleep. The house and our room were immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. Jed, the welcome dog, and the cats are all very friendly and love to be petted. We did not get the opportunity to meet Tamara, but her husband Greg was very friendly and welcoming, as were the other guests. We definitely plan to return if we are in the area again!

Great quiet cabin to stay. The only thing I would add would be curtains for the windows, but it was a wonderful time.

The cabin and property were absolutely beautiful and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. It has everything you need to enjoy your stay. Not to mention there’s so much to do around the Watoga area, we will definitely be back!

My fiancé & I stayed here the night before he proposed along the Blue Ridge Parkway, and it was such a magical, comfortable stay with beautiful views & privacy. We loved watching the three frogs in the cute little pond in the evening before spending some long-awaited time in the hot tub surrounded by tons of fireflies and stars. This stay has now become a core memory for us and we will definitely be back!

We loved being at the end of the road in this quaint cottage...it was absolutely quiet and private and the wildlife was abundant. Several deer came through the yard, some with fawns, some with antlers...we hear a bear came through just before we arrived! There were hummingbirds, fireflies and an active bird nest where we watched the mother/father tending the babies on the back porch! We never turned on the TV because we couldn't wait to see what might happen next. The Greenbrier Trail is .3 miles down a gravel road and there were swimming holes along the path as well as gorge/rock walls and gorgeous forest. We were 15 minutes from Lewisburg which is such a fascinating historical town...we loved Stardust and Corn+Flour for meals. Don't miss swimming at the Blue Bend and Bluestone Lake...also, Lucky Rivers in Hinton (best food!). Be sure to go to the Canyon Rim Visitors to see the magnificent New River Gorge. We can't wait to come back. Lorrie was a wonderful host.

The cabin is privately located in a beautiful area of rolling green farms. Just driving around the neighborhood was worth the trip. Visitors to the property included deer,groundhogs,cattle,scarlet tanagers and fireflies rising in the yard every evening. The cabin is beautifully constructed and was stocked with supplies well beyond what was expected. We felt at home and relaxed immediately. We liked the location for its proximity to Lewisburg and made treks out to Hinton, the New River Gorge, and the Cranberry Glades. Highly recommend.

Bob and Mary were outstanding hosts. One of the most comfortable interactions we have had, felt like old friends. They have beautiful trails established on the property that were excellently marked. Such a beautiful spot to enjoy nature. They were very open to having dog visitors and the setting is ideal for animals with the openness and the trails. Well off main roads so no concerns with traffic. The cottage was charming and clean. Having meals on the screened porch overlooking the pond started and ended each day. Watching the fire flies in the evening was a treat. Reminded me of my grandmother’s home with the decor. They guided us to good hiking trails and local attractions. Picking local blueberries on Bob’s recommendation was memory making. We are already talking about a return trip

We loved this spot. So many water spots to play in within walking distance of the yurt. If you aren’t familiar with cooking on induction stovetops it can be challenging. Lots of frustration with that but we will just bring our small blackstone next time to cook outside. Love this place and will be back again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Debbie and Jim’s place! The views are stunning, and we loved being surrounded by friendly farm animals, they were such fun company. The space is cozy and well-equipped with everything you need for a peaceful escape from the city. And don’t forget to say hi to their sweet golden retriever, Jasmine! Highly recommend this Airbnb!
