The boat slip is within the subdivision, making it a quick way to dock your boat at the private pier behind the home. Plenty of places to explore up & down the river. Tickfaw State Park is upriver and there are four night clubs that play live music, with pier docking, & dining. Lake Maurepas is 14 miles down river. Manchac Middendorf 20 miles down river. You can navigate to anywhere from the house.

The Gator Getaway is the perfect escape from reality located in the swampy town of Manchac, Louisiana. It is the ideal place for a stay near the water with no boat required! The historic building was the original Church of Manchac and was remodeled into a home. Located within walking distance to the famous Middendorf's Restaurant! Also nearby is the public boat launch, Sun Buns river bar boat taxi, and other local favorite spots! Located about 40 miles outside of New Orleans.

It is 10 minutes to local dining and 45 minutes to Baton Rouge and/or New Orleans. There are 4 kayaks available!

The Blue Heron Guest House is a great place to just get away, enjoy nature, canoe (provided), fish the pond or the bayou, birdwatching (lots of birds), etc. The property does have a boat slip and a small boat launch for those who want to explore the area by boat. Bayou Manchac connects to the Amite River nearby. We can’t wait to share our paradise with you!
