Family-friendly vacation rentals in La Fortuna

Our family of four with two teenagers loved this place. The instructions and YouTube video were super helpful when we had to find this gem hidden back from the Main Street. The jacuzzi was great and they really used all of the space so well to create a little oasis that was close to the action but felt a world away. Highly recommend.

Great day with a very attentive host!

We absolutely loved our stay here!! It was our favourite Airbnb and the only mistake we made is not booking it longer. It was also the comfiest bed we slept in all week! Norwin went above and beyond to make our honeymoon special!! We loved it. There was so much to do it was an incredible space and we were sad to leave it! We appreciate all the recommendations from Norwin, he was an incredible host! The hot water was also a bonus ! We loved the pool perfect place to cool down and soooo many games ! I would not hesitate to come back just to stay here!! The only rec I would have is earplugs if you’re a light sleeper as the walls are a little thin, although usually a very quiet peaceful neighbourhood!

Had a great vacation at this beautiful home, we are a family of 5 with 3 girls (15, 13, and 11). The kids loved having their own room and bathroom. The "kids room" is located in the back corner of the property with the pool in-between the main guest house and the kids room, worked out great for us. We loved the open air outdoor kitchen. House is nicely removed from La Fortuna but the main guest house does back to the road and can hear the traffic, while light, in the evenings and morning while sleeping, not a big issue. We spent our days exploring the area, loved the food at Jalapas, La Fortuna waterfall, rope swing, ATV and Hot Spring combo excursion (La Finca Lodge, check it out! Only 12 people at the hot spring), and Judah set us up on a white water rafting trip that was a blast! Pool was bigger than expected and enjoyed while we were on the property. Used the propane grill and outdoor burners. Beds comfortable. The grounds are very well kept and have a very nice walking path.

Lovely villa: relaxing with wonderful views of Arenal. Neighborhood was quiet and nice. Jason’s instructions were specific and spot-on. We did many area adventures and ate in La Fortuna - all wonderful. We also did the Sloth Territory tour after asking Jason for recommendations and enjoyed great sloth viewing and our local guide. Thanks for a terrific stay at Villa Mara.

We had such an amazing stay with David and family. They were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The cabin was just the right balance of rustic and comfortable. It’s just off the road, but you feel like you are far away in jungle paradise. David was very attentive and had lots of great recommendations. We can’t wait to come back!

We were a group of 10- 4 adults and 6 kids staying here for 4 nights. What a lovely home and incredible stay. Peaceful surroundings, easy to store/restaurants and town, incredible property with more than enough room. The outdoor living space was a wonderful place to unwind while the kids played in the pool or played games at the main table. Jordy helped check in as well as arrange for various activities like zip lining, hanging bridges. Joaquin takes incredible pride in the grounds work- as he should. It's impeccable. He took the kids on a tour of the grounds one morning and fed us fresh coconut, mango, and magical fruits that turned limes sweet- the kids were obsessed! We had Yadi cook dinner one night, amazing authentic typical food and there was more than enough for leftovers. Which they cleaned up and stored for us as well. Fully functional kitchen, plenty of space for the kids to bunk up or have their own rooms. Easy access to all excursions! Highly recommend! Pura Vida!

The place has a lot of green areas, the sight are incredible and you can see the Volcano. The house is equipped with everything you may need, and even has games to play with the kids.

I would recommend this place to anyone. It was just what we were looking for. The jacuzzi in the room was a gem. We were able to park right in front of our room. It felt safe and it was near town. Very kind staff… they ironed one of my shirts. 🥹

Loved the space, Rebeca was a great host and made sure we had clear instructions on how to find the location and access the lock box. The apartment is located within the downtown area and very easily walkable to many local shops and restaurants. Highly recommend this spot to anybody that wants a true downtown experience! Space was very clean and had plenty of space for 4 people.

We loved our stay here! Patricia was a great host who greeted us on arrival and made the check in process smooth. She provided local recommendations and answered all our questions. The place was clean and we felt right at home there. Walking distance to all the places, secure parking access, and an A/C in the room which was greatly appreciated after warm days hiking! Very unique property in a central location; easy to walk into the heart of the village for shops and cafes. Loved be woken up early in the tree tops by monkeys jumping around the roof.

This place was perfect. Good price for the area and for a private house with your own kitchen and living space. Near everything in La Fortuna but far enough away from the city sounds. Would stay here again.

It could be my dream house… the surrounding is beautiful, the house is spatious and well organized. We loved the view from the bedroom, there was a huge rainbow pending over the horizon in the morning.

Coffee in his excellent. Willy had already ground the beans Plants in the home provide Privacy and makes the home feel unwatched, as it’s closer to the highway. Home is closer and walking distance to many grocery stores and amazing restaurants, church and the park. Two bedrooms have two different mattress firmness. So you can choose according to your personal preferences. Safe is bolted to the wall, which gives more sense of security. Having a washer and dryer is an advantage.

We had an amazing stay at Andrés Y Alejandra’s place. Andres welcomed us with a house tour and provided us with great local recommendations. The place is located close to the major attractions in the area and has a supermarket nearby for last minute shopping needs. We would totally recommend this place!

This is an amazing experience with genuine and extremely professional & friendly hosts. They get a 20 star rating. Make sure to do the night hike and also dinners. Jay is extremely knowledgeable and Nohelia’s cooking is to die for.

**An Absolute Gem!** This Airbnb was everything we hoped for and more. The house was clean, comfortable, and beautifully authentic to the area, with thoughtful details that really made it feel special. What really stood out was the peaceful setting—surrounded by nature, it felt like the perfect escape, yet it was still just a short drive to town for anything we needed. Our host was fantastic—super responsive, friendly, and made sure everything went smoothly from start to finish. Communication was excellent throughout. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway in a stunning location with easy access to town, this place is a gem. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Rainbow Valley Lodge was a great place to stay in Monteverde. It was in a quiet location just outside the center of town. Check-in and check-out were simple and the girl at the front was very friendly. They provided a map with local recommendations which was helpful. The room was clean with a beautiful view. Our only request for the future would be to add an A/C unit or fan in the bedroom for warmer nights. Overall, we highly recommend staying here for a Monteverde trip.

A beautiful place. As described. Very private and the pool is a 10, with its ideal temperature for the place. Everything super clean, well laid out and spacious. Super recommended. Important to know that they must register elsewhere, where access is obtained.

Beautiful property! My family loved our stay here. Listening to the forest & watching the birds from the back porch was a bonus. I'd definitely stay here again. We loved how peaceful it felt.

This is the perfect location! Just a few minutes away from downtown with a great restaurant and market just across the street. Right next to the volcano for a perfect peaceful morning coffee! Karen was so sweet and kind and very attentive. Muchas gracias, Karen!

We had a wonderful stay. It has a ton of space for a big group and comfortable beds and pillows. Very clean and spacious bathrooms. Very close to town center. Just one detail, for the bathroom in the room with the king bed, take a quick shower and don't open the water too much or the room will flood. Still love it through
