It's a very nice house, clean and convenient for who is doing the Kumano Kodo trail. The place is perfect for a short stay, the bus stop is 3min away. But be aware if you're planing to go to town the last bus to get back is at around 17:30. There is a restaurant near by but hours doesn't help much. Motoe has you covered as she has filled the house with snacks and drinks to buy at a reasonable price and also kindly offered to take us to the nearest supermarket. It is a great place to spend the night.

Takeshi’s place was so incredible! The view of the water and mountains was unbeatable, and the private beach and mountains hikes were so beautiful. The house itself was so unique and special for us to stay in, we felt like we were getting a very authentic experience. Takeshi is a wonderful host and helped us have a wonderful time! There are many great accommodations on Airbnb and Doratei has to be amongst the very best. The location is serine and peaceful, the house is beautifully designed inside and out, and the amenities well thought out and comprehensive. But where doratei really shines is the host. Lee is incredibly fiendly, informative and helpful. From leaving locally farmed rice as a welcome gift to a very special tour of the neighbourhood his knowledge and enthusiasm for the area and kind nature made this stay truly memorable. I would recommend Doratei to anyone visiting the area as their first choice!

Kenji's home was spacious and incredibly clean. It was exactly as described. When we arrived, we met Kenji's mother who showed us how to enter the place. She also walked us through the home and demonstrated how to use the hot water and A/C unit. She was incredibly helpful! My partner and I stayed in Shingu to hike the Koguchi-goe and Ogumotori-goe trails for two days. We started our day by walking to the nearby bus stops and traveling to the trailheads. Because of the home's location, we were also able to finish our days at local restaurants. We plan to stay here again in the future!

Very good experience, the room is super clean as always.There is a nice little detail, a spray to deodorize the shoes at the entrance, and a towel to wipe the shoes and backpack, a blessing for a whole day of walking.

Very friendly host who drive us from Shirahama sta to the accommodation. It’s a house on the hill with beautiful views. We can see the most famous beach of Shirahama from our room and from the rooftop. The location is also nice. 15 min walk to senjojiki 千畳敷 , and then 10 min to sandanbeki .

Kohei and Kikuko are excellent hosts! They went out of their way to make a gluten free dinner and breakfast for me (I am coeliac). The food was AMAZING and the room was a very cool old-style Japanese room! Would absolutely stay again if I ever find myself in the area again. Thank you Kohei and Kikuko 🙏

Ah we had such a lovely (but short) time at Tomi’s house. It has such a feeling of home and a charm to it! We only stayed one night and so didn’t get to use the outside area or the surroundings sadly but the home itself was just perfect for us. Unlike a lot of air b and b’s which feel like a hotel, this had a real homey feel, with manga books and guitars and a very well stocked kitchen! I’d definitely stay here if you are considering it. Also I must say Tomi was so incredibly kind - gave us so much help with recommendations which were spot on! Thank you

Kathy and Hideo's Airbnb was fantastic and made us wish we'd had more time to spend there in Tanabe. The hosts were proactive and thoughtful, and offered to pick us up at the station. Hideo-san used to be a guide of the Kumano Kodo track and gave us some great tips. Really enjoyed our experience and hope to stay again soon. Highly recommended.
