Family-friendly vacation rentals in Karlovac County

We stayed at Maja’s house whilst visiting Plitvice Lakes and this was perfect for what we needed - a short drive to the national park and a clean, comfortable and well appointed place to stay. Maja (and her mother, who looked after us whilst we were there) were really helpful and responsive throughout. Even finding a high chair for our baby when we arrived! The layout of the house is a little unconventional - but that’s all very clear from the photos, so no surprises. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to stay in this area.

Es war ein wirklich schöner Urlaub in einem sehr schönen und mit viel Liebe eingerichtetem Haus. Sauna, Whirlpool und Pool konnten wir gut ausnutzen! Wir wurden herzlichst empfangen und die Kommunikation hat super funktioniert. Wir kommen gerne wieder! 😊

The house is located on a mountain with a beautiful view of the sea and forests, and there are only a few houses around. Google Maps doesn't accurately show the house's location, so you have to drive about 200 meters further to find a sign that points you in the right direction. The house was very clean, and Filip was quick to respond. His father met us when we arrived, and we communicated using Google Translate. The house is far from the main route connecting Senj to Zagreb, which makes it super quiet and peaceful. But Senj and the coast are only a 20-minute drive away, with the nearest market also in Senj. When we were there, it was mostly windy on the mountain, so there weren’t any mosquitoes. On the calm days, there were some, though. There are also some activities in the garden for kids to play with. I'd recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful family vacation. There's also an old stray cat living in the garden. Don’t forget to feed it:)

Suzanna and her husband are super kind and welcoming, the villa is beautiful with the fireplace and the jacuzzi as an absolute highlight. The area is amazing especially since we stayed here during the winter with lots of snow around us.

We loved our time at this enchanting wonderland! It is like stepping into a magical story book. The cabin is so unique and amazingly crafted, the hosts are very kind and responsive, and the surroundings are so beautiful! We hope to return some day and continue exploring the wonders of Plitvice.

Stunning property and location, better than the pictures. We had an amazing stay. Everything you could possibly want and need for an escape to the beautiful hills of Ogulin! A few issues with the house upon arrival including a flooded shower and leaky air con unit, these were swiftly seen to after messaging the host. Also no taxi’s available in the area so bear that in mind! We were unable to use one of the showers for the rest of the trip but in the grand scheme of things this wasn’t the end of the world :) lovely stay and great memories made, thanks!

Wir verbrachten als Freundesgruppe zu 6. eine Woche in der Villa. Das Haus und der Garten sind sehr gepflegt und sehen genau aus wie auf den Bildern. Das Haus war mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht und alles war auch sehr sauber. Die Kommunikation mit dem Host erfolgte über Chat. Check-In und Check-Out waren sehr flexibel und haben reibungslos geklappt. Unser Host hat uns bei Fragen immer schnell geantwortet und uns auch Tipps mit auf den Weg gegeben. Das Haus ist sehr abgelegen, man hat zu 100% seine Ruhe und stört auch keinen. Einziges Manko ist hier, dass man bis zu den nächsten größeren Supermärkten eine halbe Stunde mit dem Auto unterwegs ist. Ich kann jedoch jedem die Unterkunft nur weiterempfehlen!

La Vila Zelengaj est une belle maison en pleine nature, avec de nombreux équipements et des extérieurs bien aménagés. L'endroit est un havre de paix, vous n'y verrez que le renard et les écureuils (et des moustiques, prévoir le nécessaire) ! La conséquence est que l'accès y est assez difficile (routes étroites, sinueuses, pas toujours en bon état) et vous êtes éloignés des lieux de visite potentiels (la côte, le parc naturel de Plitvice...). Le jacuzzi en pleine nature est super ! Nous avons passé une belle semaine de vacances. Nous recommandons !

jako ljubazni, pristupacni domaćini, predivna kućica, super lokacija, ekstra čisto, mir, tisina..spavacu sobu tako dobro možeš zamraciti da je kao tamna komora, nisam se dugo tako dobro naspavala! nama je bilo super i rado cemo se nekad vratiti!

It was very good experience. The apartment is nice and comfortable. Jelena provided welcoming fruits, snacks and drinks, which was great after long trip. Apartment is located in peaceful place yet near restaurants, shops and most importantly Plitvicki lakes. I would definitely recommend Jelena's apartment.

Hele vriendelijk gastvrouw/-heer, super lokatie, mooie en ruime accommodatie, schoon en opgeruimd, alles wat je nodig hebt met 2 ruime slaapkamers en 2 badkamers. Mooie speelplaats buiten voor de kids. Al met al top verblijf gehad

Such a wonderful place to stay. The sweet house is so peaceful with beautiful surroundings, scenery and views. We were made to feel very welcome and the bunnies were the highlight of my daughter's holiday. Hammocks, outside chairs and loungers dotted around the garden meant you could find the perfect spot at any time of the day to relax or eat a meal. We BBQd on the fire pit and watched the sunset over dinner. The kids enjoyed the trampoline, the small pool and the ball games. The house is very comfortable and well equipped too. Highly recommend.

Je recommande à 100%. Gabi est une personne charmante et très sympathique ! elle nous a reçu avec nos 4 chiennes , un endroit paisible , de belles balades dans les montagnes. Le logement est conforme à la description , un bel espace vert clôt. Un chalet joliment aménagé et des petites attentions de bienvenue . Nous y retournerons !

Beautiful nice small cottage, perfect for a couple and a pet or two. The wood stove brought a very relaxing ambience and we completely recharged our batteries with the local scenery. Nice and isolated, near a lot of nature spots with waterfalls, creeks and lots of greenery, highly recommend!

Our extended stay at Sanja's house was spectacular. Loved the pool, river, location and the dirty kitchen. We put the bbq to good use! The air conditioning was a definite plus as there was a heat wave while we were there. We worked remote for a month and had no issues with connectivity or staying in touch with colleagues. Our two dogs were right at home and our daughter took over the downstairs apartment. Perfect! Sanja was so lovely and welcoming. Can't say enough about her and her property. Thanks Sanja! Highly recommended!!

U stanu smo boravili samo jednu noć, da smo mogli, rado bi produžili boravak. Kuća se nalazi na mirnoj lokaciji, okružena šumom i lijepom prirodom. Marija je bila suretljiva i ljubazna. Smještaj je odgovarao opisu, apartman je lijepo uređen i iznimno čist. Rado bi se ponovo vratili!

Wir hatten 2 wunderschöne Tage. Sehr ruhige Lage. Es gibt einen Swimmingpool und einen überdachten Grillplatz was wir auch voll ausgenutzt haben. Restaurant und Einkaufsmöglichkeit befinden sich in der nähe. Sogar als unser Auto kaputt ging wurde uns seitens der Gastgeber sofort geholfen. Sehr nette Gastgeber und einfach nur zum weiterempfehlen.

We had a relaxing and enjoyable time in this lovely Vila and the beautiful area. The communication was great - we got answers for everything in a very welcoming and friendly, caring approach. The area is beautiful and the Vila gives you plenty of options for everyone to enjoy- the pool , the sauna and the pool table (we loved it !!) and the relaxing sounds of the lake. That was exactly what we needed before going back to our routine. Thank you so much for everything Maya Lana and Mia - We hope to come again in the future 🙏

Potpuno opremljena kuća s prekrasne 2 terase koje su čak i u zimskim mjesecima za koristenje. Pogled je izvanreda baš kao i lokacija u potpunom miru i tišini. Dušu dalo za odmor od svakodnevnice. Vlasnici su predivni ljudi koji su nas dočekali raširenih ruku i paketom dobrodošlice. Također su jedni od rijetkih gdje su kućni ljubimci dozvoljeni a imate i za vaše mališane i kućne ljubimce ograđen prostor za igru gdje ih možete držati na oku u svakom trenutku. Ispred vas pogled se pruža na veliku livadu gdje tijekom dana na ispašu dolazi velik broj ovaca te je prizor fantastičan. Tokom zimskih mjeseci nema šanse da vam bude hladno, peć u donjem dijelu kuće je dovoljna da zagrije cijelu kuću te nemate potrebe koristiti radijatore i ostale izvore grijanja za gornje sobe. Sve u svemu, savršeno mjesto za odmor i za mlađu i za stariju populaciju, svakako preporučam. A mi ćemo se isto tako vratiti svakako!

Beautifully placed in the countryside. Friendly host, super cute apartment. Perfect for a family of five ( kids are 5,7&9). Swimming pool, tennis court, basketball, Billard table, etc. The city of Senj is roughly 20 minutes away. The drive to Plitvicer Lakes/Waterfalls is around 1,5 hours by car. Car is highly recommended. Dajana is a great host. Would definitely come visit again!
