Family-friendly vacation rentals in Karlovac County

We stayed at Maja’s house whilst visiting Plitvice Lakes and this was perfect for what we needed - a short drive to the national park and a clean, comfortable and well appointed place to stay. Maja (and her mother, who looked after us whilst we were there) were really helpful and responsive throughout. Even finding a high chair for our baby when we arrived! The layout of the house is a little unconventional - but that’s all very clear from the photos, so no surprises. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to stay in this area.

It was a really nice vacation in a very nice house furnished with a lot of love. We were able to make good use of the sauna, hot tub and pool! We were warmly received and the communication worked great. We will be happy to come back! 😊

The house is located on a mountain with a beautiful view of the sea and forests, and there are only a few houses around. Google Maps doesn't accurately show the house's location, so you have to drive about 200 meters further to find a sign that points you in the right direction. The house was very clean, and Filip was quick to respond. His father met us when we arrived, and we communicated using Google Translate. The house is far from the main route connecting Senj to Zagreb, which makes it super quiet and peaceful. But Senj and the coast are only a 20-minute drive away, with the nearest market also in Senj. When we were there, it was mostly windy on the mountain, so there weren’t any mosquitoes. On the calm days, there were some, though. There are also some activities in the garden for kids to play with. I'd recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful family vacation. There's also an old stray cat living in the garden. Don’t forget to feed it:)

Suzanna and her husband are super kind and welcoming, the villa is beautiful with the fireplace and the jacuzzi as an absolute highlight. The area is amazing especially since we stayed here during the winter with lots of snow around us.

We loved our time at this enchanting wonderland! It is like stepping into a magical story book. The cabin is so unique and amazingly crafted, the hosts are very kind and responsive, and the surroundings are so beautiful! We hope to return some day and continue exploring the wonders of Plitvice.

Stunning property and location, better than the pictures. We had an amazing stay. Everything you could possibly want and need for an escape to the beautiful hills of Ogulin! A few issues with the house upon arrival including a flooded shower and leaky air con unit, these were swiftly seen to after messaging the host. Also no taxi’s available in the area so bear that in mind! We were unable to use one of the showers for the rest of the trip but in the grand scheme of things this wasn’t the end of the world :) lovely stay and great memories made, thanks!

We spent 6 a week at Villa as a group of friends. The house and the garden are very well maintained and look exactly like the pictures. The house was stocked with everything you could need and everything was also very clean. Communication with the host was through chat. Check in and check out was very flexible and worked smoothly. Our host always responded to us quickly with questions and also gave us tips on the way. The house is very secluded, you have 100% peace of mind and don't bother any. The only drawback here is that you can drive to the nearest major supermarkets for half an hour by car. However, I truly truly recommend the space to anyone!

vila zelengaj is the most peaceful place we have ever experienced, our only neighbours were an occasional visit from the wildlife, which was so good to watch. the hot tub and sauna were excellent to help with the relaxation. easy to use. the outdoor fire grill was an highlight. we loved cooking on this most nights. the brothers who own the vila, are extremely friendly and have us great suggestions what to do and where to eat. we stayed for a week and really enjoyed our time, I highly recommend staying here if you want a peaceful and relaxing time.

very friendly, approachable hosts, beautiful cottage, super location, extra clean, peace, quiet.. you can darken the bedroom so well that it's like a darkroom, I haven't had such a good night's sleep for a long time! we had a great time and we'll be happy to come back sometime!

It was very good experience. The apartment is nice and comfortable. Jelena provided welcoming fruits, snacks and drinks, which was great after long trip. Apartment is located in peaceful place yet near restaurants, shops and most importantly Plitvicki lakes. I would definitely recommend Jelena's apartment.

Very friendly hostess/host, super location, beautiful and spacious accommodation, clean and tidy, everything you need with 2 spacious bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Beautiful outdoor playground for the kids. All in all, had a great stay

Such a wonderful place to stay. The sweet house is so peaceful with beautiful surroundings, scenery and views. We were made to feel very welcome and the bunnies were the highlight of my daughter's holiday. Hammocks, outside chairs and loungers dotted around the garden meant you could find the perfect spot at any time of the day to relax or eat a meal. We BBQd on the fire pit and watched the sunset over dinner. The kids enjoyed the trampoline, the small pool and the ball games. The house is very comfortable and well equipped too. Highly recommend.

I recommend it 100%. Gabi is a charming and very friendly person! She welcomed us with our 4 dogs , a peaceful place, beautiful walks in the mountains. Listing is as described , a beautiful fenced green space. A nicely appointed cottage and small welcoming touches. We'll go back!

Beautiful nice small cottage, perfect for a couple and a pet or two. The wood stove brought a very relaxing ambience and we completely recharged our batteries with the local scenery. Nice and isolated, near a lot of nature spots with waterfalls, creeks and lots of greenery, highly recommend!

Our extended stay at Sanja's house was spectacular. Loved the pool, river, location and the dirty kitchen. We put the bbq to good use! The air conditioning was a definite plus as there was a heat wave while we were there. We worked remote for a month and had no issues with connectivity or staying in touch with colleagues. Our two dogs were right at home and our daughter took over the downstairs apartment. Perfect! Sanja was so lovely and welcoming. Can't say enough about her and her property. Thanks Sanja! Highly recommended!!

We only stayed in the apartment for one night, if we could we would have gladly extended our stay. The house is in a quiet location, surrounded by forest and beautiful nature. Maria was compassionate and kind. The place was as described, the apartment is beautifully decorated and super clean. We'd love to go back!

We had 2 beautiful days. Very quiet. There is a swimming pool and a covered barbecue area, which we also took full advantage of. Restaurant and shopping are nearby. Even when our car broke down, we were immediately helped by the host. Very nice hosts and just to recommend.

We had a relaxing and enjoyable time in this lovely Vila and the beautiful area. The communication was great - we got answers for everything in a very welcoming and friendly, caring approach. The area is beautiful and the Vila gives you plenty of options for everyone to enjoy- the pool , the sauna and the pool table (we loved it !!) and the relaxing sounds of the lake. That was exactly what we needed before going back to our routine. Thank you so much for everything Maya Lana and Mia - We hope to come again in the future 🙏

Fully equipped house with beautiful 2 terraces that are even in the winter months to use. The view is outside as is the location in complete peace and quiet. Gave a soul for a break from everyday life. The owners are wonderful people who welcomed us with open arms and a welcome pack. They are also one of the few where pets are allowed and you have a fenced play area for your little ones and pets where you can keep an eye on them at all times. In front of you, the view overlooks a large meadow where a large number of sheep come to graze during the day, and the sight is fantastic. During the winter months, there is no way to get cold, the stove in the lower part of the house is enough to warm up the entire house, and you don't need to use radiators and other heating sources for the upper rooms. Overall, a perfect place to rest for both the younger and the elderly, I definitely recommend it. And we'll be back, too!

Beautifully placed in the countryside. Friendly host, super cute apartment. Perfect for a family of five ( kids are 5,7&9). Swimming pool, tennis court, basketball, Billard table, etc. The city of Senj is roughly 20 minutes away. The drive to Plitvicer Lakes/Waterfalls is around 1,5 hours by car. Car is highly recommended. Dajana is a great host. Would definitely come visit again!
