A large manor with a very unique and beautiful environment. There are coconut groves, mango trees, and starfruit trees... The location is also very good. It's right next to the beach. The service is very welcoming. It feels like home. It's also very personalized. Because we came back late from whale watching, they gave us a house to check out late. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time to stay at the hotel and enjoy such a beautiful environment. I highly recommend it.

The place was lovely, right on the river front and absolutely peaceful. Its also very close to the beach and we would definitely recommend the place. Somehow the tuktuk price around the area were pretty outrageous, so if you have a rented or owned vehicle, it’ll make things a lot easier but that’s not on the host, they were absolutely amazing.

We had a fantastic 10-day break at this beautiful villa. The setting is amazing, overlooking the infinity of the Indian Ocean, with the calming sound of the crashing waves. The sea was too rough for a swim but the beach was perfect for a walk. The garden is lovely, the pool is a welcome escape from the heat and the house itself is spacious enough for everyone not to be in each other's way. We had so much fun during our stay - massages in the garden, wandering the neighbourhood and meeting the locals, visiting nearby beaches (Dickwella beach was our favourite, especially with young kids), safari, releasing baby turtles in the sea, boat trips, etc.... Last but certainly not least - the lovely staff. The hospitality offered by Suneetha, Ajith and Ari was truly special. They are all lovely and looked after us so well. Apart from the delicious food they prepared daily, they arranged our trips, transport, etc. It was hard to leave and tears were shed at the end. We'll be back, for sure!

This house is excellent! Place, nature, beach, and all of things are very comfortable and nearby the house. When we were planning our trip we looked at photos of this house and thought that it is smaller and has small garden, BUT there is a big garden with hammock and beautiful lights outside, the house is very big. We've seen a lot of friendly black monkeys, peacocks, chipmunks and other animals - it's awesome. When you planning to live in this house - you should have no doubts - it is modern, comfortable and friendly place with GREAT host Ravindra! He our friend and helped in all things that we have asked. Thanks a lot, my friend, we'll try to get back! In Russian: Friends, photos of the house belittles its coolness, everything is much better than in the photos. There is a large garden, a "swimming" beach with a maximum of 5 minutes on foot, shops nearby, everything is convenient, to Weligama 10 minutes by tuk tuk, to Mirissa 20 minutes by tuk tuk. Close to the villa surfing beach and a bunch of fun spots like Chiki Monkey. Host Ravindra is just top notch. If you are thinking about this villa - take it boldly, it is very nice, the house has everything you need. There is a house nearby where locals live - they are very kind and helpful in the house (they clean and look after the garden). There is a hammock in the garden, and maybe a swimming pool will appear soon, as the host Ravindra said. We stayed there for a month at eight - everything was cool. We recommend it unequivocally.

The villa is in a beautiful surroundings, overlooking a rice field. The villa is very spacious with swimming private pool. We thouroughly enjoyed out stay here. Christa was very helpful. The helper onsite is really very helpful, and responsive. Only negative I would say is it was far from attractions and main city. Beach is around 4 kms and getting a transport here is a challenge. Booking vehicles in advance to move around could help. The approach road is narrow around 100 mts from the main road.

One of our all-time favourite accomodations, from over 40 countries visited. What we loved: - falling asleep with the sound of waves, which was perfect (not too loud, not too low) - our mornings and sunsets on the terrace of the building - the location inside the forest, and on top of the cliffs - nature all around us, with nice fauna (varan, monkeys, peacocks, small birds) visiting us. Don’t worry, there is nothing dangerous, they avoid people - The access to the cliff which is just a couple of steps away from the villas. Very good place for sunsets and meditation after - The pool is really nice for relaxing swimming at the end of the day - Near 2 beaches : Jungle beach (amaaaazing place) and Unawatuna beach, also very nice - Small cozy restaurants just outside the villas - A lot of space inside, very comfortable beds & pillows - The host and personnel are top-notch. Hospitality at next level. It was my wife’s 25th birthday and they helped us make it memorable. Great experience!

Everything is great, help with all questions, bikes and other questions . I knocked out the internet a couple of times, but the guys fixed it. The pool is clean and in hot weather it solves a lot 😌

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for three months. We had a wonderful time here. Dharme and his wife are very friendly. They tried their best to make it as comfortable as possible for us. We would definitely recommend this place.

We had a nice time. The garden is huge and the house was clean and we had plenty of space as a family. You can explore the surroundings on foot. Restaurants, supermarkets and the beach can be explored on foot. A great neighborhood and above all a very quiet one. We felt very comfortable and would come back anytime. The family even made us breakfast in the morning, which was incredibly delicious. We are very sad to have to leave and keep the house in beautiful memory. See you soon, Anna and Tim

We really felt extremely comfortable at Chami's place. The property is actually integrated between the trees and into nature. What was absolutely new to us at first became cozy very quickly. Not least because the staff are really friendly, accommodating and lovely people. The breakfast has been extensive, individually designed and very tasty. So paired with the ambiance so a great start of the day! Our room was simple, but this was completely sufficient for our purposes. Everything necessary is definitely available and the ceiling fan also ensures enough cooling. For those who like, the nature shower is also a great experience - with luck you even get a look at monkeys! Despite a few small holes in the mosquito net, it has totally served its purpose & if you sleep with earplugs, you also have no problem with the ambient noise. Anyone in Hikkaduwa should definitely make a stop here!

Very private and comfortable space 5 minutes walk from Kabalana beach. Garden is huge and nicely shaded. Outdoor shower. Nice upper and lower balcony. Very lovely place

Our booking was last minute after some change of plans. On a family trip of Granparents, parents and a kid. The house was as described, the view can’t be put in words. Everything was tastefully done and the staff was excellent. We were welcomed by Mr Anil who was kind and polite. The Chef Ms Usha was terrific and her staff of Ms Rasika and Ms Priya together took care of all our gastronomic needs so well. Right from an ice bucket for our champagne to well stocked cold beer, we had everything we needed. The pool was spotless and the beach was so clean. We wish we had stayed longer and hope to return soon. Special mention for two of the best dogs! Randy and Nico were really nice and escorted us on each beach walk. Definitely better than any airbnb/hotel situation I have been in, in a very long time. I stay in 4 hotels a month around the world and what you have beats almost all of them.

Beautiful place, wonderful pool, comfortable beds, relaxing atmosphere, helpful staff and enough space for everyone to chill out - what more could you ask for? And all just a 15-minute tuktuk ride from Galle Fort history or Ahangama bars.

Absolutely magical place. If you are a nature lover, this is a dream come true. Me and my husband stayed in Ganguli for 10 nights and we loved every second of it. Gonapinuwala is close enough to the beach and nearest bigger town - Hikkaduwa, but at the same time it is far enough to be in a calm place, away from other tourists. The garden that surrounds the house is natural, so it feels like living in a beautiful jungle, with monkeys jumping on the trees and endemic birds sitting on the branches (Sri Lanka Grey Hornbill visited us!). But you shouldn't worry, it never feels unsafe, we've never seen any dangerous animals or anything like that. Chandana and Krishna are unbelievably helpful and kind, they just made us feel like home. They are always ready to give advice or organize transport. I hope they will read it, so Chandana and Krishna, let me thank you again! You made our trip even more exceptional. You are the best!

The stay was absolutely wonderful. The villa is stunning. Sanjeeva is the caretaker and is absolutely fantastic, so helpful in ever way. The location is quite rural which made it feel secluded but in a lovely way. thanks

We had the most wonderful stay at Etamba House. This Geoffrey Bawa inspired property is beautiful and even better than the photos suggest. The rooms are huge and tastefully decorated with an elegant nod to Sri Lanka's past. The bathrooms are inside/outside with beautiful showers and plenty of space. The service from Michael and Shehan was exceptional. Breakfast is different each day with a set menu but they're flexible to your requests. the dinner that Talakshi prepares is wonderful (the portions are huge!). Can't say anything bad about this place. Go and stay there. Enjoy this beautiful home and the peace and quiet that surrounds it.

Loved the villa! Right on the beach. Spacious. Loved the simple, elegant interiors, and the muted lighting. We all had a great time in the pool by the beach. The speaker is awesome. Jaan was always prompt in responding. And they proactively informed us that we could check out late as they had no booking on that day - thank you Jaan. The local caretaker Gayan, who lives nearby, comes every day to clean the pool and was helpful. He also drives a tuktuk himself. He came to check on us a few times despite his son being unwell - thank you Gayan. There is a supermarket at a walking distance and a restaurant (called A2). The main town, restaurants, touristy shops are less than 3 kms away and tuktuks are very easily available for hire (the pickme app worked like a charm). We stayed during the off season, so it is quite likely that during the peak season, there are beachfront restaurants and bars operational at a walking distance from the villa.

We’ve just come back from an amazing trip to Sri Lanka, and we stayed for 6 nights at Gaya’s wonderful home. We loved it; the location feels remote, but it’s only a 10min walk to the beach/restaurants etc. Every morning I’d wake up and have a coffee on the veranda, overlooking lush greenery, peacocks, cattle - not something you get in everyday life. The staff were very helpful, and the accommodation was comfortable, clean, and is a wonderful option if you’re looking for a self-catering home stay. A big thank you to Gaya for letting us stay, we hope to be back soon!

The treehouse is an amazing place to stay for exploring the south coast of Sri Lanka. The location is very private and enclosed but still close to the towns of Unawatuna and Galle. The treehouse itself was very clean and had everything we needed to cook and even have a BBQ! The pool was a great size and depth with a cool rope swing. The hosts were very helpful and attentive, with a very friendly doorman. We wish we could have stayed longer as this was the highlight of our trip.

Coconut tree villa is such a special place. The location is really incredible, so peaceful, surrounded by jungle with birds, monkeys and peacocks. Our children loved the pool and were made to feel like royalty by the staff on site. We had a few lovely meals prepared by the lovely ladies for extra cost. Roshan the tuk tuk driver took us to the market to choose some fish, but beware, we were scammed when we went ventured off from him to buy fruit, spending £17 on a few items! The town is a 5 min tuk tuk ride away and we paid 600 ruppee each way, directly to Roshan. We were provided with a mobile and we just called him once we had finished at the beach and he arrived in miniutes. Lesley is a fantastic host, and responded to our requests. We had the most incredible start to our trip and wished we had booked longer, we cant wait to return to CTN!

What an incredible few days at Kirigedara! The house is even better than what you see in the photos. Harsha, the caretaker and chef went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and happy. I will forever cherish all the incredible food he made for us. He was always present and available. The house is stunning and in a very peaceful location. It is away from the town and there’s not a lot of restaurants around but we were just happy enjoying the villa, Harsha’s food, the garden and the pool. I would recommend better maintenance of the cushions/couch in the living room and Cabana. Already missing the sounds of the birds and the lush green surroundings. I can’t wait to be back!

Don was on hand to greet us with a very warm welcome. The accommodation was very clean, tidy and as described. The house contributed to a great holiday and I would highly recommend this place

The B&B is about 900 meters from the beach, 2 km from the beach Merry Sand Beach and 900 meters from Polhena Beach.The room is clean and tidy, there is a large balcony, and the pool is very comfortable.The host is very enthusiastic and attentive, quick to respond, we find it to book whale watching, its price is lower than that of flying pigs, charter drivers and travel agencies. Listen to the guide, it is better to find a local person to book whale watching, because online booking, usually give money in advance and can not be changed, such as bad weather and can not be changed, but the local people booked the night before I met the host to give money, I can change the time, and the boat out of the sea is similar.The host also introduced good restaurants, sand, and things to do in the surrounding area.We want to experience surfing, the host also actively contacted the coach and quote, we also asked the host to book a boat tour to watch crocodiles, a 2 and a half hour trip, relatively small, a good experience, different from the mangrove forest.

We had the most wonderful family Christmas at Villa Olu. The villa exceeded our expectations - the photos don’t do it justice! It was the most perfect setting for relaxing, having fun, playing games and not to mention the incredible family meals prepared and cooked by Kumara and Nadi!Experiencing the delicious traditional Sri Lankan cuisine was a huge highlight. Kumara could not do enough to help us - book tuk tuks, arrange massages at the villa and arrange transport. The villa is incredibly peaceful yet only ten minutes from Galle where we enjoyed visiting shops, sites and cafes. We would not hesitate to stay at Villa Olu again, what a super family holiday!
